Star Shaped Card

Happy Monday to all!
This is Tanvi with my take on the current challenge theme - Anything but square & rectangle.

I have a star shaped card to share today. This is a very easy one to make from a equilateral triangle (mine measures 12"). In my opinion this fold looks best when used with double sided pattern papers. The Graphic 45 papers - Botanical tea were perfect..........the colors, the designs are so gorgeous! The layered circle die cut holds the shape when closed. The "hi" on the wood veneer is stamped in archival ink.

This is the back of the card -

And this is the inside when opened -

The humming bird made from shrink plastic is a CL die  & buffed with Inkagold & edged with DI vintage photo & the stamped image colored with distress inks

Would love to see your take on this challenge & please make sure you refer to the challenge guidelines here & link your card.

Thats it from me today!
Have a great week!

Special Birthday & Shaped Card!

Hello Beautiful Crafters,

Valou here,

Hope you had a peaceful week! We have a fabulous special Challenge this month

 Challenge#27 Lulupu 2nd Birthday Special

Before I begin here is my thought process for this project.

Starting with alphabets..we have to use L, U, P, T, C

Let's see What I have used here?

L: leaves, lavendar
C: cardstock
: papers, pastel shade

Here is my card for this challenge and I hope that it will inspire you!

For this card, I used a decorated flowers paper ( small block)and the edges are distressed with "Old Paper" DistressInk.

The shape of the card is a template found on the Internet which I printed in two different sizes. I then cut with simple scissors.

I used a rubberstamp "Magnolia".

I then colored in the following way:

- Ink "Distress Tattered Rose" and "Distress Vintage Photo" for the skin.
- Ink "Distress Antique Linen" and "Distress Walnut Stain" for hair.
- Ink "Distress Worm Lipstick".
- Ink "Distress Shaded Lavender".
- Ink "Distress Forest Moss".
- "Glitter Stickels Frosted Lace".

I cut the image and I stuck it with "Foam Tape" on a die-cut created with "Cuttlebug" and a dies " Spellbinders-Nestabilities - Circles ". The edges of circle white circle under the image is inked with the ink "Shaded Lavender" then covered with "Glitter Stickels Icicle".

I have used various flowers to decorate my card. Flowers are covered with some touches of "Glitter Stickels Icicle".I also added "Foliages" created with a die by" Cherry Lynn Designs ".

The title is printed and i used a font called " Chopin Script ". I then cut it in banner shape to sue on my card.

Finally, I added a butterfly created with a die by " Joy! Crafts ". Above, I stuck another butterfly made with a small punch and I decorated it with two white pearly demies-pearls.

We are looking forward to your amazing entries to drool over!

I wish you an excellent day and bye for now!

Tutorial - Diorama Card

Hello all you beautiful folks..

I hope everyone has been having fun with the alll the holidays lined up. I for one am going nuts, because i have an extremely active 3 year old (who loves school!) sitting at home for four long days!!

This month at Lulupu we have the challenge #15 Weather or not.. And right now in Hyderabad it rains on and off but mostly pleasant.. This lets me take my daughter to the park and she absolutely looooves the swings! Wants to swing higher and higher.. my card represents just that happiness :) its a Diorama card or like a scene within a scene :)

A play ground.. :) for me, that signifies pure innocence :) it is such a joy to watch children play with unabashed laughter, smiles and fun!

I've used distress inks to create the background within. Some clouds, butterflies, birds, technique tuesday stamps, to complete the diorama portion of my card (pssst - technique tuesday coming to lulupu sooooon!!)

The tree represents autumn :) Its a die cut that ive misted with my home made mists :)

Like i said, happiness is what i connect with a playground and the little girls swinging and laughing, the fluttering butterflies, the puffy clouds - all HAPPY! The sentiment is again die cut.. I have also added some stickles onto the birds and butterflies :)

I had seen this card a while back and this is the tutorial based on the way i've made it :)

Supplies needed-

One 8 1/2" x 11" card stock
Adhesive
Bone folder/scoring board
Dies/scissors - i didnt have a big frame so i used the biggest die i had and then hand cut around it :)

Step 1
Cut the cardstock at 5 1/2" leaving you with 2 pieces of 8 1/2" x 5 1/2"

Step 2
Score one of the pieces at 41/4" - Card panel
Trim the other piece to 4 3/4" x 5 1/2" - window panel
You will have these pieces -

Step 3
Score the window panel at 1/8" on either side. Adhere your die to the centre of the panel and run it through your machine. You'll get a window cut.

Step 4
These are your two panels ready. Decorate as desired first and then adhere the window to the base :)

Hope you have enjoyed this.. see you at #15! :)

Love
Pratiksha

How to use your punches innovatively

Heya. It's Indira here with a very bright and cheery forest theme card. It is a cascading card and I have used a whole lot of punches with a twist. Have a look.

I have made a tag to write the message on as well.

This tag can be placed in the pocket behind the card.

These are the punches that I have used directly or indirectly (meaning, used the punch negatives) in this card.

I also have some How-to's to show you how to make best use of your punches.

Thanks for looking. Hope I was able to inspire you enough to play along our current challenge - 'Splash of Colors'.

Supplies used are listed below.
I have made a video tutorial for the same. Please have a look.
