birds of a feather

Why is this goose so sad?

He just looks like he's going to cry any second.

I think he's lonely.

When we're alone too much we get cranky like this fellow!

Remember Barbra Streisand's song, People?

It goes something like:

"People who need people are the luckiest people in the world."
Or in this case, should we say?
"Geese who need geese are the luckiest geese in the world."

Well, I'm as excited as this goose below because I'm not alone. If I want good company to share my day, I just turn on my computer and all you lovely people are just a click away. I was reminded of this the other day when the most gracious Elaine at Home n About awarded me with the Lovely Blog award.

How surprised and pleased I was! Of course, I want to pass this jewel on to others, but I realized that many of you don't accept awards. I understand the time constraints and burdens some feel around awards so I'm taking the liberty to change the rules a little. I'm just going to throw a few of the blogs that I enjoy out there and you can feel free to accept and pass it on if you would like. I wouldn't want to put any unwanted obligations on any of you. I have to say, it is so hard to choose only a few out of so many creative, interesting, welcoming and lovely blogs. The following are just a few of those that have crossed my mind tonight.

I enjoy each one of these for various reasons and I'm sure you will too!

Home Haven Ministry
Once upon a Plate
Food with Style
Marsha-garden
Rather be Blogging
The Project Table
Six in one hand
Frugal Fine Living
Aiken House and Gardens
My Desert Cottage
Twice Remembered

Birds of a feather flock together!

Blessings, Marsha

A little Happy

My Aunt Tootie calls little gifts that are unexpected "HAPPIES" and so I'm here to tell you, I received a HAPPY from that sweet, sweet lady, Cathy, who lives in The Stylish House. She always welcomes visitors so graciously. Being an interior designer makes her site a very interesting and lovely place to visit. She awarded me the cute little button here. HOW SWEET!

Now there are rules to accepting and sharing this sweet button and so here they are:
1. The winner may put the logo on their blog.
2. Put a link to the person who sent you the award.
3. Nominate 10 blogs.
4. Put links to their 10 blogs.
5. Leave a comment for the nominees.

TA DA! And here are my nominations:

The 6 below were chosen just because I like to visit their blogs. They make me laugh or smile or give me an AWWW moment. They are in no particular order.

  1. Lisa at Hospitable Pursuits
  2. Mary at Little Red House
  3. Amy at Winterberry Creek
  4. Room Service Decorating 101
  5. Rock Candy
  6. Yvette at the Charm House

I chose 7 and 8 since they are pretty much responsible for my blog.

7. Mary Kate Brown - I read Mary Kate's blog before I ever dreamed of having one myself and I guess you could say she inspired me to have one of my own and helped me build mine.

8. Mrs. G at Life at Home - She doesn't know it but I discovered her blog before I began blogging. One day I was surfing the Internet looking for a strawberry cake recipe and found one on Mrs. G's blog. Mrs. G, I liked your strawberry cake recipe and your blog which led me to think that I might enjoy doing this too.

9. Marty at A Stroll through Life - I picked Marty because she is so encouraging to me and everyone. She's just so nice!

10. Last, but certainly not least, I choose Lindsay at Peacock-blu. Lindsay is my daughter, but that's not the only reason I'm choosing her. She's an accomplished interior designer just starting to blog. She plans to fill it with her designer knowledge and training and also just some fun. I think you will like her. :=)

Have a good Friday. Marsha
