Brigid asked that I let everyone know the surgery went well. She is home and safe (all office chairs have been limited to linear motion only.) Between the Morphine, Demerol, and Hydrocodone she is not up to posting, but all is well.
Midwest Chick and Mr. B are on standby, Barkley is fed, and I'll make sure she doesn't start doing fancy footwork on the crutches at 2AM. (It might scare the neighbors.)
She sends her love and thanks for everyone's prayers.

Thanks for the status report, EJ!

ReplyDeleteThat's very good news. Thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteThank you EJ for the update. We(her loyal readers)will have to muddle through a time without her elegant prose.

Tell her we're breathlessly awaiting her return and wish her well. I guess I'm speaking for others, but I'll bet they'd say the same.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know she is home and doing OK. Thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteGood thoughts and well wishes heading your way from Ohio...
ReplyDeleteDann in Ohio (and the gals)
Get well soon Brigid. We're all praying for a full recovery.
ReplyDeleteTexas-sized "Get well and recuperate fast" wishes from this redneck Texas blogger (who will soon be going under the knee-knife himself in 2012).

Good to hear! Thanks to you and everyone else for taking care of B.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the news. And special thanks for caring for our friend.
ReplyDeleteHard to believe this superwoman whose blog I so enjoy has been knocked down (not out) albeit, briefly. Nice gesture, EJ - thanks for the update.
ReplyDeleteTell her to get well soon, and see if you can bring Barkley to the hospital to visit her. It's bound to cheer her up.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon!
Chris
While she's whacked out on the drugs, start dressing Barkley in heavy metal concert t-shirts.
ReplyDeleteSee how long it takes her to notice.
Morphine, Demerol, and Hydrocodone
ReplyDeleteNow, that's what I call a New Year's cocktail!
Mend, and be merry.
I have found that the productivity curve is asymptotic with respect to the coefficient of friction. It approaches, but never reaches, a value of 1.0
ReplyDeleteNow, if Productivity is considered to be constant, the first derivitive of Productivity will be zero.
Good news! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGlad to learn the surgery went well, Brigid! (BTDT, 2x) We hope you will soon be as painfree as possible (naturally), and well on the road to recovery!

Thanks for the update!
ReplyDeleteHoping and praying for the best recovery ever - and that Barkley doesn't use mom's inattention to help himself to too much food!
Glad to hear it went well...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update. She'll be back in no time, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteThank you all. Your comments, thoughts and prayers are so appreciated even if I wasn't up to logging on last night. Still in some pretty good pain, but better today.
ReplyDeleteAn Ordinary American - hope your surgery goes well. Keep us posted.
Glad your surgery went well.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a quick and full recovery

Glad everything went well. But I'd save a few of those pain pills for when those Medical Bills arrive for all those "little extras" that the Insurance didn't cover.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear the surgery went well.
ReplyDeleteThank EJ for us for taking such good care of you.
Bubblehead Les - I can only imagine, my "copay" on the Physical therapist is $75 a pop. Can't wait to see the hospital bill. Tack that on to $3000 in dental work this year, WITH full dental insurance (to replace a couple teeth a bad guy took out) and Barkley's cancer surgery bills, I don't want to know what I'll be paying in my "free health care" everyone thinks I'm getting.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hat Trick - Mr. B.,Midwest Chick and EJ have been great this last week, my support system. Tam and Bobbie have been checking in and Og has offered to donate his cane when I'm ready to get off the crutches (he had something similar) :-)
I have a LEO gal friend staying with me all next week while Barkley stays with friends for a few days, so I should be OK.
Brigid - Glad to read you are better. Best wishes for steady, continued improvement.
ReplyDeleteSending lots of love and warmth your direction. It always sucks to be down but sometimes we need the small downs to avoid the big falls later on.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Brigid, that brightened my whole week....especially under your own circumstances....
ReplyDeleteI'm a little behind (but just as determined) in wishing you a speedy and complete recovery. May 2012 be a better year!
Dang glad to hear your doing well.
