Breakfast at the Range

What's better than breakfast on the Range  porch on a warm fall morning when the house is empty and quiet and I don't have to be at work until mid-morning?

Pancakes with spiced blueberry compote.

You just need five minutes to make the sauce, which can stay on warm while you cook up  the

Blueberry Compote  (serves 2)

1 cup defrosted blueberries or fresh
1 Tablespoon honey (or white sugar)
1/4 teaspoon Molasses
1 Tablespoon maple syrup
3/4 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
two pinches of cinnamon and two pinches of cardamom

Bring to a gentle boil over medium, slightly reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.

Wait - I almost forgot my bacon!
