Assorted Card Fold Smash Book Birthday Card O' Love....

Before I inundate you with a boat load of photos, I just want to give you a BIG virtual hug and welcome you back to my blog!!  HUG (you) HUG...there we go.
Okay, let's get started with my sampling for this weeks' showcase of Assorted Card Folds Set 1 for the ever wonderful cut file and craft store, The Cutting Cafe.
I decided to cut out ALL the card fold styles and then bind them together to make a smash book birthday card for my husband's 45th birthday  Each of these style cards led to the most fun and wonderful project.  It's certainly a one of a kind birthday card filled with 13(our lucky #) reasons why I love him.   Here they are...
I looked all over the internet for the cutest pictures of little kids to print out that would go with my thought process. Each page is personalized with a sentiment I typed up, a number, some journaling, doodling, stickers, cut outs, words and a bunch of love!
When I saw this little boy I HAD to start the book/card with it.
One of my favorite quirks about him is that when I randomly and rhetorically say, "I wonder why...." At some point in the day he'll come back with an answer. He loves to google and research and then I don't have to wonder any more.  :)
My husband is a firefighter and served in the military for 22 years.
Of all the things I know he's seen and done to help others, he truly is my brave, noble and kind hero.
Even though I hate wasting money on flowers that die...I love that he ignores me and buys them for me anyway.  The special deliveries when he was serving over seas were especially sweet and thoughtful.

Even though some think he has a gruff and grumpy side (they would be right too...LOL) he is the most reasonable and rationale person I know. I love seeing the world through his eyes.  He's taught me so much just by sharing his thoughtful perspectives.
He makes me smile EVERY day!
I think this goes without explaining, but...
I shouldn't be around competitive sports; at least not in public!  I love how he encourages my love for sports and takes the kids out of the house when my teams are losing and I begin to 'lose' it.
There hasn't been anything he can't solve or figure out who can.
He's a HUGE car guy, so there's this one...
YEAH NAPS!!!!!
We're total foodies so this was one of my FAVORITE pages....
The look on this little boy's face is priceless!!! I swear that's just like my husband when he see's me eyeballing HIS plate. AND that little girl...LOL, isn't that adorable?  Look at her little fingers getting all ready to sample his food...I LOVE IT! That's so me!!
And lastly....
The sentiment is perfect!
"I wish I could turn back the clock.  I'd find you sooner and love you longer."
And here's the width of my smash book birthday card o' love.
Stop by and see more assorted card folds here and here if you'd like to make one of these for yourself!
Thank you SO much for being here!
Happy Crafting and have a wonderful day.

A One Word Prompt....

You can call me Bird...
Well, it's not my birth name, but it's been the given nickname since I can remember and I rather like it.  Apparently I flapped my arms, like a bird would its wings, whenever I saw food and mimicked the excitement of a baby bird at feeding time.

I decided to join the year long class called Wanderlust 2016 and the first journal entry prompt was to choose one word that describes me today.
 So bird it is..

I had a little fun with textures and the glue gun while creating these pages. I stamped both the leaves here to the right and the leaves below with Ranger Dye Ink. Now the leaves below, I colored them first with copics and gel pens.  The leaves to the right I decided to hit with glue first and then color the cooled glue.  You can see how the glue dried differently on those mediums.

Both of my kid's names begin with B's, so I've dubbed myself the "B keeper."  And that explains why they're buzzing around.
I find the longest day to be one that I don't laugh, so I try to always make time for silliness and a good belly chuckle.  Once I stamped the little ink nibs in various places, I gave myself random cues to write something.  Here's silly....  And God knows I'm trying to win t;hat 1 billion, but in reality, I don't think I really want anything to do with the insanity that would follow. So....back to journaling and laughing.
And here's something sweet....

And here's a little more texture with paste and glitter because, anything with glitter is good!

Well, that's a little peek into my Wanderlust journey and I'm so glad to have spent this time sharing it with you.  There's still time to join in the year long crafting journey. It promises to be a creative adventure.
Until next time...
Big hugs and happy crafting,
Bird xx

Take Time To Say It...

Need to journal a special event in your life? Wish you had a cute little "love note" to surprise your  main squeeze with?  Just want to tell someone your thinking of them or thank you? Then The Cutting Cafe can help!  Here is the the file I used, Mini Note Pad and Card Set, and here's how I made mine.
Print it out....
Pull out the washi tape, scrap paper, punches and stamps and have fun decorating.
But don't stop there. Keep going! :)
All done!
These were so much fun to make and I love having cute little note pages ready when I need one!
All DT projects are posted at The Cutting Cafe Blog on the 7th and 21st of each month. We'd love for you to visit and be sure to leave a comment for Regina. She selects one lucky person to receive 3 FREE files of their choice!

Coffee Understands....

There are a few challenges happening this week and when I saw them, I knew they would be perfect together....just like coffee and cream, infused into me; via an IV line, over a period of 24/7!!
I am starting something completely NEW for me. It's like so 2001 for ya'll, I'm sure, but for me, it's brand spanking new. I'm starting a journaling book!!
No, it won't contain life altering tid bits of wisdom that I pass on to my heirs, but it will be chock-full of humorous quips that make me giggle.
So, here is my first journal page using the ever fabulous Sketch from Cardabilities and with it I have paired Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge of Coffee or Tea and Frilly and Funkie for their challenge of Something To Say.

I loved the concept of humorous quotes so much, I dove right into the pages and haven't even decorated the cover yet.
I'll just let the muse inspire when it's ready....
Biggest of hugs to you all and Happy Crafting!
