Who do you cheer for?

As far as football goes... no one really. Unlike most of my family, I've never been a big football fan. When I was a kid, I used to cheer for the Raiders. Why? Black and silver, baby ... my favorite colors. Now, all I do is cheer for the Panthers to lose because they're a disgrace. Does that count? ;)

Who are your favorite authors??

Oh, favorite authors. Honestly, it's like picking favorite books right now for me ... there's too many to name! I will say that, out of the books that I have read lately, some of my favorite authors are Gena Showalter (this should be a given), Kate Kaynak (I love her Ganzfield series and she is so sweet!), Beth Fantaskey, Charlaine Harries, Lauren Kate, Maggie Stiefvater, and so many more! Gah, I so cannot decide!!

eBook or Print?

I don't mind eBooks, but I'll be honest and say that I prefer to have actual printed books. If a book is really good, I'll get the eBook and the print - that way, if I'm off at my parents, I'll have the eBooks with me.

Do you use a rating system for your reviews and if so, what is it and why?

I struggle with it sometimes but yes, I use a rating system - simply five stars. Sometimes, I go back and forth between the halves, but generally I like to stay to just 1-5 stars. Overall, I've decided if I'm going to use a rating system, then it should be something similar to rating systems on the other sites I use (Goodreads, Librarything, etc) so I don't have to struggle to re-rate every time I post a new review on each!

What is the first book that you remember reading?

The first book I remember reading on my own is one of the books in Beatrix Potter's Petter Rabbit series, though I couldn't tell you which one. Soon after, I got on a fairy tale kick and my parents bought me a collection of Hans Christian Anderson stories as well as Grimm's. Those were my first two "big" books. I was very proud of them and toted them everywhere with me.

How many blogs do you follow?

As of right now, by Blogger’s statistics, I “follow” 664 blogs. I don’t know if you’d say that I necessarily follow them all religiously. I get on about three times a day and spend about an hour or so going through my Google Reader, catching up on all the latest posts. So, if you update frequently, there’s a better chance of me actually “following” you more than other blogs.

This Week's Question ...

Do you listen to music when you read? If so, what are your favorite reading tunes??

I do love to listen to music. I can listen to most everything. However, the thing I like to listen to the most is classical and movie scores when I read. Why? When I hear singing, I'm tempted to listen to the lyrics. When I listen to lyrics, I usually find a storyline somewhere in that song, so then my mind goes wild with how I can turn that into a full-blown story with original characters and a nice setting. Basically, I think too much - so, I just try to avoid that altogether.

Who is your favorite new-to-you author so far this year?

Oooh, I have three! Anastasia Hopcus, Jackson Pearce, and Jeri Smith-Ready. All three have fabulous books out, their writing is amazing, and they're all super sweet.

Two other easy-to-talk-to and super sweet authors are Emma Michaels and Sophie Littlefield. I'm looking forward to reading both of their books coming out!

TELL US ABOUT THE BOOK YOU ARE CURRENTLY READING.

Technically, I'm not reading anything as I'm preparing to visit my parents this weekend. However, I did just finish Poison Study by Maria V Snyder. It's a fantasy book about a girl who is given the opportunity to have a second chance at life after being sentenced to death for killing General Brazell's son. Her new life? Being the Commander's food taster. Not the most fabulous job around, but Yelena is happy to have avoided the noose - but not everyone is as happy about her new-found freedom.

This Week's Question ...

RIGHT THIS INSTANT, WHAT BOOK ARE YOU DYING TO GET YOUR HANDS ON (PAST, PRESENT, OR FUTURE)?

There are two books that are part of two series that I really want. There's Torment, which is the second book of the Fallen series that I'm absolutely dying to get my hands on at this point. I read Fallen the day it came out and I was absolutely hooked! Then there's Last Sacrifice, which is the sixth and final Vampire Academy book. This is the series I promised not to get addicted to ... and now, I'm hooked!

There are also books by debut authors that I can't wait on. The one that pops out the most is Banished, by Sophie Littlefield. The most obvious answer for this blog being The Thirteenth Chime, by Emma Michaels. ;)
