Friends and I took photos during "golden hour", as the sun was setting, but these didn't turn out as sparkling nice as I expected. I wasn't fast enough, so there's more darkness than light. Still enough for me to show off my vintage dress ever so slightly though (does this count as an outfit post?).

The following photos are from the Autumn /Winter 2012 lookbook of Beta Boutique and Beta Por Homme vintage clothing stores (long time friends of this blog!).
As much as I love the lookbook, what caught my eye even more were the behind the scenes photos that Beta has kindly shared. See below! How cute is that last one?
Now run along and check out Beta Boutique and Beta Por Homme. If you love vintage clothing... you're welcome.

I've been spending most evenings of these past couple of weeks in front of the telly watching Wimbledon. Love love love the tennis season! Tennis is the only sport I can actually watch and follow, and it's probably more for the drama and personalities than the actual sport itself. It can be very pretty too, as you can see.
Vivian Maier was a nanny as well as an avid street photographer from the 1950s-1990s. However, her incredible photography work wasn't discovered until an auction in 2007 when someone uncovered 10,000 negatives and undeveloped rolls of films of hers.
Her human/society observations are AMAZING. I have to say I also love her use of shadows and her self portraits. Very inspiring.

Hello lovelies! My name's Jess, and I'm popping in today to share a new vintage shop crush with you all... {twin set}!
You may remember them from this post that Anna did back in April - but I've got some new summer lovelies of theirs to show you.
Are you swooning yet?
Have you visited {twin set} yet? If not, I hope these shots have convinced you to take a peek.
It's a little vintage shop of goodness run by two lovely ladies - Angela of Leeloo and Renee Anne. I love every single thing in their shop! In fact, I may have to keep my eye on there... but alas I have already spent my budget on vintage lovelies this month...

Jess Van Den is extremely passionate and passionately extreme about all things handmade and vintage, and a multi-tasker extraordinaire! When not blogging at Epheriell Designs, she's making jewellery, editing *bespoke* zine, hanging out on twitter - or possibly doing all of these things at once.
I was impressed by the stacks of fabulous antique china at home, that I couldn't resist doing a little photoshoot with them. The shape of the teacups on the bowls in the first photo remind me of floral dresses. Don't you think? The cups are the tops and the bowls are the skirts! :)
All these used to belong to my great grandmother, and my dad inherited them long ago. My dad says that everything was extremely scarce during the war in Indonesia (during his grandmother's days), that dining sets like these were considered valuable. So that's why she included these kind of items as inheritance for her grandchildren. I love that we still use some of them today.
P.S. Apologies for my lack of blog hopping and commenting lately!

and also, a little message from one of our lovely sponsors:
Beta Boutique is currently having a massive 15% off sale on all their gorgeous vintage wear (that's everything!). Prices are not adjusted, and the money will be refunded after payment is received.
Following Amanda's lovely posts, this is Laura from See Hear Say guest blogging whilst Anna is away. Very happy to be here and saying hello to you all :)
I came across Ladies & Gentlemen Studio's website a few days ago and I thought this would be a perfect to share with you all here as I know how much you and Anna love vintage treasures!
Quoted from their website, Ladies & Gentlemen Studio is all part design studio, part blog and part vintage store. You can find delightful knick-knacks that are their original design such as this chalkboard-coated creature and mega doily rug.
And how about some cute vintage typewriter or patterned teapot and cups? I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Off you go to their online shop for more cool vintage findings!
Have a lovely day!

Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus is a 2006 movie starring Nicole Kidman as iconic photographer Diane Arbus, and a fictional take on her early photography inspiration. The movie itself was okay (hard to judge because the DVD I borrowed was scratched, so I had to skip some scenes. Grr...). To be honest - and at the risk of sounding shallow - I was more impressed by the costumes and setting. Images of Nicole looking elegant in those perfect '50s housewife dresses, were too good not to share. The beautiful vintage camera she carries around is like the cherry on top.
