CHARITY CHALLENGE: SUPER HERO CAPES

One of TeamBuilding Unlimited's most popular Charity Challenge team building events this holiday season: Super Hero Capes!

SUPER HERO CAPES

Be a super hero! Teams work together to design and make superhero capes to be donated to children in hospitals and shelters. These capes can empower children to have hope in a crisis. Make and donate these children's super hero capes for encouragement and to bring out their "superhuman strength" in times of adversity.

Your participants will work together in small teams to make and design capes with an emblem (lightning bolts, stars, suns, Superman, Batman, and more) for the super capes.

Get in the giving spirit as TeamBuilding Unlimited leads you in a Children's Super Hero Cape team-building event!

This is a great way to bring your team together while providing empowerment to children in need. Make a difference!

Charity Challenge: Wheelchair Team Building

TeamBuilding Unlimited offers a special 'spin' on Charitable Team Building -- Wheels to Mobility: a Wheelchair Building Team event!  This Charity Challenge requires teams to assemble, test and decorate wheelchairs that are then donated to the elderly or disabled to help with mobility, transport and convenience. The Wheelchairs are donated to charitable organizations, senior centers, and individual families.  Our trained facilitators guide your teams through a series of challenges to receive parts and supplies. They also inspect the portable wheelchairs and coordinate the donation. Wheels to mobility!

This is a win-win situation for your team, the disabled recipients, families, and charitable organizations.

Project Banner: Company Team Event

Let TeamBuilding Unlimited lead your team through a fun customized interactive event that explores their creative sides: Project Art, the Company Banner.

Participants work in teams of 5-8 to "design" a Banner that when completed represents their group, organization, mission, purpose or another theme, depending on the goals and objectives of the event. TeamBuilding Unlimited will consult with the client prior to the event.

The completed Banners are composed of smaller panels that each team member executes in harmony with the other team members.... totally they will add up to one Banner for each team of 5-8—--the big ‘picture’. In all, each of the Banners must reflect the totality. Teams must strategize on theme as well as final positioning and any other decorative elements.

Each individual will design a portion of Banner that reflects their group, their team, their organization. There can be a competition at the end of the activity, and prizes will be awarded to the ‘best’ in several categories.

Depending on the way the individual team building Banner event is set up, each team might be asked to design a portion of the Banner (squared off) about their theme. Deciding on the theme of the Banner is part of the challenge.

TeamBuilding Unlimited works with your teams on color palette and technique—but the best part is the creativity of your participants.

This team-building event involves creativity, leadership, strategic thinking, sequenced planning and communication. The Banner is about Process, as much as art.

The final product is a visual documentation of the team's understanding and awareness of the theme they have selected and the process through which they went.

Goal: Separate parts that add up to one vision! The Big Picture!

These Banners can adorn the workplace, the lobby, the cafeteria or...want to make this a Charity ChallengeThe completed Banners can be donated to hospitals, children's centers and schools.

Charity Challenge: Rocking Horses for Tots

TeamBuilding Unlimited facilitated an all day workshop yesterday that included Charity Challenge: Bikes for Kids, as well as  Charity Challenge: Rocking Horses for Tots.

The group did an amazing job of assembling the bikes and assembling and painting/decorating the wooden rocking horses. Each team spent time brainstorming their designs before implementing them.

The Rocking Horses and Bikes were donated to the San Francisco Ronald McDonald House. This charitable event had a huge impact on the company that assembled and painted them, as well as the children who received them.  It was a Win-Win experience!

Here's what our client had to say:

We totally appreciate you facilitating our special day. You really helped all of us to be at ease with the events of the day, and made us all smile and enjoy each other's company, and take pride in the efforts of painting our horses, and making us feel adept in assembling our bikes.

Most of all, the goal was for all of us to spend time and get to know one another on a personal level. Thanks to you, it was a job well done and a fabulous day!

Charity Challenge: Rocking Horses and Charity Challenge: Trikes for Tots are great ways to bring your team together while fulfilling CSR: Corporate Social Responsibility. Contact TeamBuilding Unlimited for more information.

Party with a Purpose: Philanthropic Holiday Events

TeamBuilding Unlimited is in the throws of holiday parties! Yes, our season begins on November 30 with a Trikes for Tots event. What a great corporate event.

In addition to Trikes for Tots, TeamBuilding Unlimited helps your team with many different Charity Challenges. Bears that Care, Murals, Operation Military Giving, Backpacks for Kids and so many more. One of my favorites is Rocking Horses. Not only does your team assemble high quality rocking horses, but they get to paint and decorate the horses.

For our next Rocking Horse Charity Challenge, the corporate teams will donate 10 rocking horses to Family/Child Centers in the North Bay. Sometimes the Rocking Horses are donated to Hospitals or Firestations or Toys for Tots. Whereever they go, the rocking horses are always appreciated, and your teams' efforts and creativity are enhanced by philanthropy and social responsibility.

What a great holiday season.

Operation Red Wagon: Two New Charity Challenges

TeamBuilding Unlimited loves doing Charity Challenges. Here are two more philanthropic events for your team!  Contact us for more information. TeamBuilding Unlimited works with groups of 5 to 400. Anywhere in the World.

The Charity Challenge: Operation Red Wagon

The Red Wagon has become a symbol of American childhood. Teams work together to build wagons that will be donated to shelters, hospitals or child care centers. Our Red Wagons feature full-sized all-steel seamless body with no scratch edges, extra-long handle that folds under and steel wheels with semi-pneumatic rubber tires.

Each team will receive the same Red Wagon parts, and our trained facilitators will supervise the event. The reward for building the Wagons is the reward of giving back to the community. What a great teambonding activity for your team! In addition, each team will design and execute a child's t-shirt to go with the donation of the Red Wagon. An optional series of children’s games can be added to this event.

Everyone is a Winner in this Philanthropic Teambuilding Activity!

Operation Red Wagon II: Welcome Wagons

This is a twist on our traditional Red Wagon team building event. Wagons will be filled with various supplies depending on the receiving organization: Children or Families. We even have an optional Library Wagon that participants fill with Books!

Included in this event is everything in Operation Red Wagon I, with the addition that teams will also use their points from the “competitive childrens’ games to ‘shop’ for specific items to include in the wagons. In this format, the high-energy activity quickly shifts from competitive to collaborative while trying to fill all wagons to capacity. Red Wagons can be filled with household supplies or children’s toys, school supplies or a mixture.

Working together each team becomes part of an even bigger team that makes a difference by providing basic supplies for families in need.

Besides teambuilding skills, a lot of team bonding goes on during this meaningful and fun charity challenge!

Team Benefits:
Give back to the community
Get to know your team
Build team spirit

Charity Challenge Builds Great Kaiser Team

Yesterday a Kaiser Permanente team came together to do some philanthropic team building with TeamBuilding Unlimited. Half the team was from Southern California, while the rest were from Northern California. They wanted to bond over a philanthropic team event.

To begin the event and get into the mood of the children who would be the recipients of this philanthropic teambuilding, the teams were challenged to some fun competitive children's games. These included jacks (a favorite), building the tallest tower out of Tinker Toys (one team actually built a tower that touched the ceiling--a first), and several other interactive team games including the suitcase relay.

After prizes were awarded to the teams, individuals then stuffed a variety of animals from bears to unicorns to monkeys. Each person also designed a t-shirt for the animal. Thrive, Kaiser's motto, appeared on several tiny t-shirts, along with hearts and rainbows. The bears and animals were donated to Children in the Oakland Hospital. To end the day on a sweet note, Frank did a chocolate tasting with the group, an added bonus to their day.

A great time was had by all, and we accomplished our clients' goal of getting together, having fun, teambuilding and contributing to the community.

Here's what our contacts wrote:

Thank you both for your work in ensuring that everyone had such a great day. What a treat it was to be able to get together as a team and just relax and have some fun.
--Laurie Williams, Medicare Operations Program Manager

Thanks for allowing Frank to host our Team Building Event. He was great. Everyone enjoyed the activities. I loved the Jacks the best. Frank provided us with great conversation and showed a tremendous amount of enthusiasm.
--Vernicko Seraphin, Project Analyst

Charity Challenges are great for the holidays or any time of year. There's always a need. Groups donate to shelters, fire stations, police stations, hospitals, and specific charities. Giving back to the community is special.

Bears That Care: Genentech Charity Challenge

Genentech was the scene of a Bears That Care team building event yesterday. 33 bears and assorted other animals were stuffed and dressed and packaged for needy children. After a series of children's games to put the teams in the 'mood' of childhood, 20 Genentech Rituxan marketing staff assembled the Bears, designed and executed stuffed animal t-shirts, made cards and packaged the Bears which were then donated to the Family Giving Tree.

Here's
what Sheri Hockaday had to say about this charitable challenge,
" I just wanted to tell you that we loved our build-a-bear event. Frank did a wonderful job, the games were so fun and ev
eryone really enjoyed themselves. It was a perfect way to end the year! Thank you!"

Bears that Ca
re is only one of the Murder on the Menu/TeamBuilding Unlimited Charity Challenges. Next week a different team at Genentech will participate in our Trikes for Tots--building tricycles and designing t-shirts for the children who will receive the trikes and a lot more.

What a great holiday season for Giving. Add an activity like this to your holiday party. Contact us

More Holiday Party Ideas

With the economy being what it is many companies are paring back their holiday parties. Murder on the Menu/TeamBuilding Unlimited has lots of ideas that won't strain the budget.

A full scale Murder on the Menu production is awesome, but if you don' t have the budget, consider hiring our
Arresting Detective. He breaks up your party and arrests 10-12 of your 'top' people for something great. Wanted posters, small gifts based on interests and foibles of the 'perps'. This is a good natured mini-roast. 30-45 minutes.

Want a new research lab but not sure where you'll find the funds? How about a Gingerbread Research Lab contest. We'll provide all the gingerbread, graham crackers, icing, decorations, prizes and more. Roll up your sle
eves and get in the spirit. Donate the Gingerbread Labs or Houses to hospitals or children's centers after the event.

Want to give back to the community instead of the usual holiday party?

How about our Charity Challenge?
  • Trikes for Tots is a great way to get into the holiday spirit as seen by children. After a series of competitive children's games, each team will build a tricycle and design a t-shirt that reflects your company and team. Trikes and t-shirts are then donated to local charities for kids in need.
  • Bears That Care is another Charity Challenge designed by Murder on the Menu/Teambuilding Unlimited. After a series of children's trivia and games, each participant will assemble a bear or another fuzzy animal and design a t-shirt for the animal. Stuffed animals will be donated to a local charity, police or fire organization.
Want to have the ultimate reward for your team? Consider a Chocolate Tasting. This luscious chocolate seminar guides you through the history and culture of chocolate and tastings of chocolate from 40% to 85% cacao. Like a wine tasting, only better... it's all about chocolate!

I'll be posting other options for you to do on your own. Stay tuned.

Bears That Care: Charity Challenge #2

CHARITY CHALLENGE #2: BEARS THAT CARE

Get in the holiday spirit as TeamBuilding Unlimited leads you in a Bears That Care Teddy Bear team-building event! This is a great way to bring your team together while providing comfort to needy children during the holiday season or throughout the year. The need is sadly always there.

Each team may compete in a series of children's games and challenges to earn team points toward the “purchase” of parts and accessories needed to assemble Bears That Care. The competition continues as each team builds Teddy Bears and designs special Bear T-shirts that represent their team and their company.

Once the bears are completed, they are presented to local organization: Shelters, Police, Fire, Disaster, Hospitals and more.

This Charity Challenge is fun and altruistic. It benefits your team and the children who receive the Bears that Care. It's a Win-Win Holiday party for your Team.
