ODBD July Sneak Peek!!

I'm back to some normalcy! Back down to just my two boys and it's pretty quiet (crickets chirping in the background...hearing pins drop....).

Our Daily Bread designs will be releasing 5 brand new sets in a couple of days and you are going to LOVE them!!! Want a sneeky peeky? You got it! I based my card on this week's OCCC sketch challenge:

I love the dogwood flowers in this Grow in Grace set! I highlighted the dogwoods by first watercoloring them and then adding Sky Blue and Gold Glimmer Shimmerz.

I love putting a little "bend" to my Spellbinders so I did that to the label die.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Grow in Grace set will be released July 1

Ink: StazOn black

Paper: SU Parisian Breeze, SU Basic Brown

Accessories: Basic Grey Wine/Champagne Opalines, Shimmerz (Sky Blue, Gold Glimmer), Spellbinders Double Ended Tags, MS Monarch Butterfly punch, silver cross charm, jump rings, yellow Liquid Pearls, watercolor markers, foam adhesive, stamping sponge, SU silver cording

Come back tomorrow for another ODBD preview!! We're also having a blog hop on July 1st and you don't want to miss that!!

A little RAH RAH RAH for TIOT #23 and a Box of Scriptures

My apologies to the SCACD DT for having such a late post with today's TIOT. I've had a sick stepson and I had some kind of 24-hour thing that made me "bleh". This week's challenge was a sketch: I decided to use Julia from the new Anki's Sweetheart Series 2 collection and thought she'd be perfect for a spinner card because cheerleaders like to twirl and tumble! I also incorporated a punched border for this weeks OCCC challenge. Card Recipe:

Stamp: Julia from Anki's Sweethearts Series 2

Ink: Versamark

Paper: Making Memories Sabrina pad, Prismatics Pink Pack, SU Pretty In Pink, black cs

Accessories: Ranger white Inkssentials pen, Spellbinders Flower Impressabilties, Spellbinders Large Scalloped Circles die, Super Fine black detailing ep, Fiskars Sunburst border punch

************************************************************************************
I made this ODBD gift box of scriptures for SCS's IC184 Lovely Package challenge and chose this as my inspiration:

I had been wanting to make a little Quiet Waters gift box to hold scriptures from the Scripture Collection 1 and Scripture Collection 2 sets I broke out with my little Cricut machine to cut out the box and here's the final result: I added decorative piercing using an Ornare Corner template to give each little scripture card a little "oomph" :).Gift Box Recipe:

Stamps: ODBD Quiet Waters, Scripture Collection 1, Scripture Collection 2

Ink: Versamark, Ranger Antique Linen distress pad

Paper: SU (Kool Kraft, Chocolate Chip)

Accessories: Ornare corner template, Ranger Silver ep, Prima Dandies 5, white satin ribbon

Thanks for swinging on by and I hope everyone continues to enter my blog candy - it ends June 23!

Wacky OCCC and Timeless SCS!

I've been having fun combining challenges into one card. I also figured why bombard you with 10 cards for 10 challenges...I don't want you all to get sick of me! LOL!

This first card is from combining this week's SCS color and sketch challenge. The colors we had to use were SU Purely Pomegranate, Brilliant Blue and Only Orange...YES! BOLD BRIGHTS! The key was to not overwhelm the card with those colors. Once I figured out how much of the colors I wanted to use I worked with this sketch:

I whipped out one of my trusty ODBD sets for this one, Fishers of Men, and came up with this ditty:Hmmm....I don't think a card recipe is required for that one :).

******************************************************************************
The gals over at Our Creative Card Corner put out a color challenge of using SU Regal Rose, Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue while over at Rubberneckers' Wacky Wednesday #12 they Add Imagewanted inchies. And finally, over at Flourishes Timeless Tuesday, a square card was called for which was easy for me since that's the only size I make! So here's what was born from those three if they were to have a creative menage et trois (get your mind out of the gutter!)....hahahaha! I used a Purple Onion Designs stamp set called Blossoms for this one. Again, I doubt if a card recipe is in order :).

OCC Challenge!

I haven't participated in a sketch challenge for some time so when I saw the OCC sketch I knew I wanted to give it a try. My card features a Cornish Heritage Farms stamp from their Friendly Kritters line. The stamp is called Helpful Chimpmunks by Tom Allen and it is adorable!

Until I can get my hands on some Copics, I used watercolor pencils to color the image. I accented with Flower Soft and Crystal Effects.

Here's a closer look at the watering can, the popped-up chipmunks and Flower Soft.
Card Recipe:

Paper: K & Company Classic K Margo pad, SU Gable Green and Pretty in Pink cs, Prism Simply Smooth white cs

Ink: Versafine Onyx Black

Supplies: Flower Soft Sweet Pea, Dew Drops Peony, Hero Arts Light Green Accent Pearls, Spellbinders circle and scallop die, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder, watercolor pencils, SU Crystal Effects, MS butterfly punch, sewing machine

Thanks for stopping by!

This week's OCCC sketch and our Bella!

I actually went FIVE WHOLE DAYS without making a card! Thank goodness for an OCCC sketch to jump start my creative juices!

I bought some new DCWV paper pads and I must say I am loving them. My favorite is their La Creme stack because of the flocking! I used that particular stack to make my card and Our Daily Bread designs sets, I Am The Way (lilies) and Keep My Lamp Burning (scripture).

So, here is the OCCC sketch:

And here is my card: I also based the card on the SCS IC167 challenge where the inspiration had to come from the Artful Bras Project. I am so happy I got the Martha Stewart butterfly punch!

Card Recipe:

Stamp: ODBD I Am The Way and Keep My Lamp Burning

Ink: Versafine Black, Versamark

Paper: DCWV La Creme Stack, SU Very Vanilla and Basic Black, Prism Pinks, watercolor paper

Supplies: black and gold ep, watercolor markers, MS butterfly punch, Dew Drops, pink satin ribbon, foam adhesive, sewing machine

AND

Kelley wanted me to post our little Bella's most recent picture. Ain't she a cutie?! We love her!

Today's new OCC challenge and ODBD Embellishment Pile-Up!

If you haven't already subscribed to Our Creative Corner you really should! Their challenges and sketches are always so fun! I know it helps me when my mind has a creative block!

Today's Inspiration Challenge is hosted by Laurie Schmidlin (who also happens to be a member of the ODBD DT!) to choose your favorite embellishment and create your card around that. Simply enough, right? Everyone has a nice stash of embellies!!

I used several layers of flowers, both silk and paper. At first it was just going to be a nice little layer of flowers to decorate my card for the SCS Embellishment Pile-Up challenge, but then I decided to add a thin strip of green cardstock and hand cut a couple of leaves and it became the main idea along with my Tilda holding a flower. I used a 6x6 paper pad called Chloe's Closet by Making Memories and I love it because of the spring colors and how they all coordinate with each other so well!**********************************************************************************
I created this WT204 SCS card three days ago using the new February set from Our Daily Bread Designs called May God Hold You. I paired it up with another ODBD set called The Cross of Christ. You can see the beautiful light green cross stamped beneath the prayer. It is still one of my favorite sets because of the flourished crosses and the scriptures.
