Another Picture Perfect Color Challenge/Totally Stampalicious Combo

Hey everyone!

Thanks for coming back to see this week's super color combination from Megan over at Picture Perfect Color Combinations:

I just love these colors -- the new Cheery Cobbler and the "new" oldies, Pink Pirouette & Baja Breeze.  I thought I could use them for this week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious: "Anything But a Card."  I decided to use a tutorial I found over at Splitcoast to make this cute little Gable Box:

Recipe: Birthday Kids (Totally Stampalicious), Birthday Bliss (SU!)  Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Versafine Onyx Black  Paper: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, Whisper White, SU DSP, Cherry Cobbler  Accessories: Clear embossing powder, paper piercer, small and large tag punch, Cropodile, black satin ribbon, large oval punch, hemp twine, Curved Rectangles Nestabilities

Make sure you stop by the Picture Perfect Color Challenge to see what the rest of the girls created with these colors - and then click over to Totally Stampalicious to see what fun the gang created that *isn't* a card.  :)

Only 3 more days until the 4 Crafty Chicks' debut challenge!!  I can't wait for you all to join us!

"Old Meets New" in The Shabby Tea Room

Welcome to the last few days of August - where did the summer go?  Before we know it, Thanksgiving will be here, then Halloween, and then ... CHRISTMAS!  ACK!  Are you one of those people that have started shopping already?  I haven't even THOUGHT about it yet... (and I'm not gonna either)  :)

This week's challenge in The Shabby Tea Room is "Old Meets New" ~ use something old and something new.  Easy, right?  Our sponsor this week is none other than our fearless leader, Debbie, with her Shabby Vintage Seam Binding and one lucky participant will win 12 yards of this lovely embellishment.

Okie dokie - so for my "old" I used some Basic Grey paper that hasn't seen enough lovin' and my "new" is the wonderful buttons die I got from the Cat's Pajamas a few weeks ago.  I also used my NEW cork sheets for the buttons... yummy.

I used this week's sketch from the Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge:

Recipe - Stamps: Flower Girl (Pure Innocence, MFT), Vintage Labels (SU!)  Paper: Various textured cardstock, Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey Origins paper, Whisper White  Accessories: Paper piercer, Copics, cork sheets, Buttons die, buttons, hemp twine, vintage seam binding

Make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Shabby Girls created for this week's challenge...

Well... I know all good things must come to an end but darnit! ~ I don't want them to!!!  This week's Curtain Call over at Stacey's Stamping Stage is my last week as a Curtain Call Crew design team member.  I've had a FABULOUS 6 months creating for Stacey and with the other amazingly talented ladies.  I am truly going to miss being a part of it all - but I will still be playing along every week!

This week's combo is chock-full of Stampin' Up's brand new In Colors and the "redefined" Kraft, Crumb Cake:

I found the newest sketch at Friday Sketchers and loved the simplicity of the layout:

and our fabulous Guest Designer for August...Teresa Kline at Enjoy the VA Sunshine.

...then play along with us and post your Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 45 creation using Mr. Linky back over at Stacey's Stamping Stage.

I want to take this final opportunity to thank each and every one of these fabulous ladies for keeping me company over the last six months.  I have been inspired and challenged by all of you and thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything....  I'm sure our paths will cross again.  :)

See you all tomorrow for a Shabby Tea Room challenge, a Picture Perfect Creations challenge and a Totally Stampalicious challenge!  WHEW...  And don't forget about the 4 Crafty Chicks inaugural challenge on Thursday!

Color Throwdown & A Sweet Sunday Sketch

Hello again!

I've got to make this post short and to the point 'cause it's almost time for Big Brother - - - yes, I admit it.  (Head hung...)  Every summer I vow NOT to get drawn into the train wreck that is BB but every summer I'm sucked in.  Even {I} realize it is one of the more, shall we say, ridiculous reality shows out there but I think it is actually pretty funny to watch.

Anyhow - enough about my weaknesses, I've got a card to show you!  :)  I used this week's Color Throwdown and Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch:

Recipe - Stamps: Thankful Accents (Verve)  Paper: Rose Red, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron, SU! DSP  Ink: Pear Pizzazz  Accessories: Nestabilities, paper piercer, circle punches, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, button, hemp twine, adhesive rhinestones, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder

Okie dokie - gonna fly.  I'll try to be have another card for you before Sunday but if not, please make sure to come back and visit for my final Curtain Call as a member of Stacey's design team.  *sniff*

See you then!

Mojo Monday Meets Colour Q!

Hey there!

I've got another quick one to share tonight - my laundry room is calling and the boys have to go through their closets to figure out what does and doesn't fit...

I popped over to Arielle's ColourQ challenge and found this bit of loveliness:

That scarf is so pretty, I'm almost wishing that winter was here so I could dig out my touque and mitts... {ALMOST} being the key word there.  :)

As usual, the sketch over at Mojo Monday is another stunner - this week's sketch was created by Mary Fish:

I dug out a couple of my favorite Verve sets and got to work - not too many extraneous details with this one:

Recipe- Stamps: Accent Notes, Celebrating You (Verve)  Paper: Poppy Parade, More Mustard, Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Basic Grey  Ink: Poppy Parade, More Mustard, Bermuda Bay, Basic Grey  Accessories: Nestabilities, Beautiful Wings embosslit, adhesive pearls, Basic Grey satin ribbon, hemp twine, button, hodgepodge hardware, oval punch, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder

Okie dokie - gotta dash.  Don't forget to check out my and my peeps' new challenge blog, 4 Crafty Chicks, next Thursday.  We're so excited to have an opportunity to share some fun with all of you!  I don't think we're open to the public yet but I'll be sure to let you know when we are!  :)

Sugar and Spice...

Hello - I'm so glad you stopped by!  This week's color challenge over at Picture Perfect Creations is a beautiful one and you could use it for many different types of cards - I'm lovin' the new Concord Crush:

This week's challenge from the girls at Totally Stampalicious is to use at least two different textures on your card (ex: dry emboss, heat emboss, fabric, ribbon, flock etc.).  I thought I'd use Desiree Lollipop again so I went in search of a sketch that would fit and found this simple one from 2 Sketches 4 You:

Recipe - Stamp: Desiree Lollipop (Totally Stampalicious)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Concord Crush  Paper: Very Vanilla, Concord Crush, Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, SU! DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, Copics, Very Vanilla satin ribbon, adhesive pearls, Elegant Bouquet embossing folder, Swiss Dots embossing folder

If you'd like to see more of these colors, hop over to see what the rest of the PPC Creators did:

I'm sure the gals at Totally Stampalicious have created some amazing textured cards so make sure you stop there too!

See you later!

A Bit of Metal in The Shabby Tea Room

Welcome back for another fun challenge in The Shabby Tea Room!  A few weeks ago, I found this cool glass bead bracelet in an Etsy shop called Essex Glass and immediately thought it would be PERFECT for an inspiration challenge in TSTR:

So this week's challenge is this: Using this picture as your inspiration, create a project with metal somewhere on it.  Now, it could be a brad or eyelet, it could be metallic paper, metallic embossing powder, metal cord...the possibilities are endless.  And feel free to get creative with your metal - a pop can tab would fit the bill.  :)

digital stamps

This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is Some Odd Girl and do they ever have some cute digi stamps!  And for all you STR peeps, they have a discount on your purchase this week - what could be better than that?

I found this new-to-me challenge a few weeks ago but haven't been able to play along - until now.  The Bling Sketch Challenge over at Annabelle Stamps Blog is a sketch with a {twist}... use the sketch AND some bling!  HELLO??  Right up my alley!  I liked the simplicity of this sketch and it fit my "Fairy Mae" image perfectly:

Recipe - Stamps: Fairy Mae (Some Odd Girl), Beautiful Kindness (Verve)  Ink: Early Espresso  Paper: Blushing Bride, Poppy Parade, Whisper White  Accessories: Paper piercer, rhinestone brads, striped grosgrain ribbon, Copics, silver metallic cord, button, Spica atyou Glitter pens

I colored her with my Copics and used my glitter pens for her wings...they are so sparkly:

Make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Shabby Girls created for this week's challenge...

Unscripted Sketches and TCP Tuesday

I'm back!  Didja' miss me?  I've got a quick one for you this afternoon - I combined the TCP Tuesday Color challenge from a couple of weeks ago with this week's sketch from Unscripted Sketches:

I got to use the last of my new stamps from The Cat's Pajamas - I totally love this bunny and his ears!!

Recipe - Stamp: Forget About the Cake (The Cat's Pajamas)  Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Denim Blue, Kraft  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black  Accessories: Gridlock embossing folder (Sizzix/Tim Holtz), paper piercer, Copics, Copic Spica atyou glitter pen, Kraft corduroy buttons, buttons, hemp twine, eyelet, Kraft die cut tag, grosgrain ribbon, clear embossing powder

I started by stamping the image with the Versafine and then clear embossing it.  I colored it with my Copics using my colorless blender to make some polka dots on the red cake layers to give it a bit of texture. This new Tim Holtz embossing folder is awesome - it'll be great for those {boy} cards that need a bit of dimension without being frilly.

That's it for me today - enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Act 44 - I Hope You Like Bright Colors...

... because this week's Curtain Call Color Combo is full of them!  I love the new Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade and LOVE how they look with the Tempting Turquoise.  The inspiration picture makes me wish that summer could last all year round ~ but, alas, living in Canada, that doesn't happen.  *wink*

I paired it with this week's challenge over at Truly Scrumptious .  It is a sketch with an optional extra twist to use buttons, brads and bows.  I only used the sketch for my card but I rotated it to fit my image better.

Recipe - Stamps: Birthday Bunny (The Cat's Pajamas)  Ink: Versafine Onyx Black  Paper: Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Poppy Parade, Whisper White, various SU! DSP  Accessories: Paper piercer, clear embossing powder, Copics, Scallop and Circle punches, adhesive pearls

The rest of the Curtain Call Crew has samples to show you today, too, so make sure you stop by to see:

and our fabulous Guest Designer for August...Teresa Kline at Enjoy the VA Sunshine.

...then play along with us and post your Curtain Call Color Challenge: Act 44 creation using Mr. Linky back over at Stacey's Stamping Stage.
Have fun with these bright, summery colors!

Another Tuesday. . .

. . . and another fun TCP Tuesday challenge!  This week Susan is challenging us to use any of The Cat's Pajamas stamps that you can drink with.  AND lucky for me, I have the new "Ship Happens" set that needed to see ink.  :)  As an added bonus, the penguins are super-cute!

Mercy's sketch fit my image perfectly although the image layer ended up being a bit bigger than the middle panel so it doesn't look like it goes all the way under the image panel but it really does... promise.  :)

Recipe - Stamps: Ship Happens (TCP)  Paper: Greenhouse Gala SP (SU!), Baja Breeze, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, various DSP  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Versafine Onyx Black  Accessories: Nestabilities, Copics, paper piercer, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, glue pen, Whisper White organza ribbon, Baja Breeze corduroy button, pumpkin pie button, hemp twine, clear embossing powder

Don't you just love the little penguins?  I paper-pieced their hats with some DSP scraps and the tea cup with my new favorite DSP, Greenhouse Gala.  I still have to get last week's TCP challenge done - it's a very cool color combo:

OK - that's enough from me for today.  I hope you are enjoying your week and your summer - it's slowly winding down... only 3 more weeks and the kids are back to school!  WOOHOO!  I can't wait.  :) Thanks for stopping by!

Well, this week's challenge over at Totally Stampalicious, of course!  All you have to do is use black, white and any shade of pink on your card to join us for this week's festivities.  I decided to use the new, In Colors' Blushing Bride for my pink and the old stand-bys of Whisper White and Basic Black when making my card.

I thought Jen's Sketch For You To Try would fit my image, Desiree Lollipop, perfectly:

Recipe - Stamps: Desiree Lollipop (Totally Stampalicious)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Blushing Bride, SU! DSP  Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Copics, button, paper piercer

Thanks for peeking - I hope you will join us over at TS for this fun color challenge.  There are so many possibilities with this color combination... I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Friends Are Like Flowers in the Garden of Life

Hey everyone!

Welcome back for another Picture Perfect Creations Color Combination and a new challenge from The Shabby Tea Room.  This week's colors from Megan include my {oh-so-favorite} Pacific Point. *insert eye roll here*  I'm trying to love it, really I am...

Our challenge at TSTR is to use roses somewhere in our project and our sponsor this week is Squigglefly.  They have some fab digital images and the sentiment I used on my card is one from their collection.

Squigglefly Digital Stamps

I love the simplicity of this week's sketch at There She Goes stamps:

Stamp: Digi sentiment from Squigglefly  Paper: Whisper White, Pacific Point, Poppy Parade, SU! DSP  Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Whisper White organza ribbon, Nestabilities, paper piercer, Pretty Pin Embellishment

I FINALLY got to use the Pretty Pin Embellishment that I received a bit too late to use the week they were our sponsor at PPC.  It is sooooo pretty and matches the Poppy color perfectly.

Make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Shabby Girls created for this week's challenge...
