PPC #34 & Truly Scrumptious #42
Happy Thanksgiving to all of my Canadian friends! Here in Alberta the weather has been absolutely perfect - warm, sunny with a bit of a breeze to make the leaves rustle and fall on the ground. This week's Picture Perfect Creations color combo can be interpreted and used for many different occasions:
When I saw the Artichoke, I knew I wanted to try the technique I used a couple of weeks ago with the double-sided tape sheets and glitter over the stamped image. I dug out a retired Stampin' Up set, Sleigh Bells Ring, and set off to find a sketch that would accommodate the image. When I saw the sketch from Truly Scrumptious I knew it was the one:
Not only was the sketch perfect, but the additional challenge was to use a snowflake on your card - perfect for a winter wonderland image. You can't tell from this picture but the ribbon is tied together keeping the two halves together:
Recipe - Stamps: Sleigh Bells Ring, Christmas Greetings (SU!) Paper: Always Artichoke, Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, SU! DSP Ink: Olympia Green Versafine, Rich Razzleberry Accessories: Paper piercer, Rich Razzleberry polka dot ribbon, snowflake brad, Be Creative double-sided adhesive sheets, Glitter Ritz transparent Warm Highlights glitter
I hope you will take sometime to play with us over at Picture Perfect Creations - we always love to see what you create for us. If you have some time, stop and check out the rest of the PPC Creators' blogs to see what they created with these colors.

Act 44 - I Hope You Like Bright Colors...
... because this week's Curtain Call Color Combo is full of them! I love the new Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade and LOVE how they look with the Tempting Turquoise. The inspiration picture makes me wish that summer could last all year round ~ but, alas, living in Canada, that doesn't happen. *wink*
I paired it with this week's challenge over at Truly Scrumptious . It is a sketch with an optional extra twist to use buttons, brads and bows. I only used the sketch for my card but I rotated it to fit my image better.
Recipe - Stamps: Birthday Bunny (The Cat's Pajamas) Ink: Versafine Onyx Black Paper: Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Poppy Parade, Whisper White, various SU! DSP Accessories: Paper piercer, clear embossing powder, Copics, Scallop and Circle punches, adhesive pearls
The rest of the Curtain Call Crew has samples to show you today, too, so make sure you stop by to see:

As Easy As 1-2-3 in The Shabby Tea Room!
Welcome back for another fabulous challenge in The Shabby Tea Room! This week's challenge comes to us from Nicole and she has given us a recipe challenge: 1 ribbon, 2 buttons, and 3 punches. Don't be afraid - it may sound difficult but it really isn't. :) Promise.
This week's sponsor in the Tea Room is one of my favorites, JustRite Stampers. They have got some AMAZING stamps and I am totally lovin' their new clear stampers and the new Christmas sets are super-cute. This week's winner will win a prize package filled with lots of JustRite goodies.
I decided to use JustRite's Groovy Snowman set and knew that this week's Color Throwdown combination would work PERFECTLY with a wintery-themed card. I still don't have any Marina Mist so I had to find another color from my stash that would work:
Our fearless leader, Debbie, just became one of the Truly Scrumptious DT so when I saw that their sketch had the PERFECT shapes and layout for the STR challenge, I HAD to use it (but I *did* make it into a square because my image is so large...):
Here's how I incorporated the recipe:
- 1 Ribbon - I used ribbon in more than one place but it is the same ribbon so I hope that counts... :)
- 2 Buttons - Bottom right corner... :)
- 3 Punches - This is the part I kind of *fudged* a bit... I used three different sizes of circle Nestabilities around my image.
Make sure you stop by and see what the rest of the Shabby Girls created for the "1-2-3" challenge...
