Tutorial - Spellbinder Nestabilities Dahlia Easel Card

Hi all

This is my first attempt at a tutorial for making a creation for my DT positions, finally got it done Alicia, I have made a tutorial using the Spellbinder Nestabilities Dahlia to make an Easel Card.

First choose your papers and Spellbinder

Cut three of the largest Nestie in White card and choice of bottom layer and two of the second largest nestie for the top layer

After cutting match the designer paper shape to the white cardstock (they are not symetrical as I discovered the first time I made a blossom easel card) as you can see in the left of the photo you can see white edges

I the turn the shapes over and mark them with pencil so I can match up much easier later
I have used X-Press It Double sided High Tack Tape, now place on the top side of the white card that is going to have the designer paper stuck to it, when placing make sure you have it in the right place as once stuck it is stuck!
You now need to score the centre of one of the Dahlia making sure your mark is matching the Dahlia you are going to stick to.
Turn over and use the Sticky tape on the top half of the Dahlia that matches the back of the front of the card (next photo)

Then stick the second layer onto the Dahlia that is to have the image on
EDITED to answer Tina's question,
you then stick this to the Dahlia shape above making sure your markings to match up
which is what you can see from the side in the photo below
You then need to score the back as shown so you can stick the joining piece to the base

Now I don't stick the second layer on the base if I am using brads, to use as stop for the easel, work out where the brads need to be, place them, then stick the second layer down on the base, I have also kindyglitzed around the edges.  (As you can see started added embellishments and then remembered I hadn't taken a photo lol)

Next add your image and I have chosen to use the Gorgeous 'Angelica Heart Socks' which Nicole has on offer for only USD $10.50 this month, plus if you are a member of the Inky yahoo group, you get an additional 10% off.

A closer look at Angelica, popped her hair band up (a little tip I try and colour the pop up stickers with the colour I am using so they don't stand out).  Special effects on her hearts (on the head band), ear rings, those gorgeous eyes, bracelet, handbag and cute boots.  Used Spicas Lavender and lilac for the headband and hearts and cardigan

Hope I have made sense, if anything is not clear please ask.

Snow Tutorial for Mad for Markers

Hi all, this is my first tutorial ever an it is for Mad for Markers, firstly I am not Copic Certified, this is just how I love to colour snow images! Copic colours needed are C1, C3 & BG10 (available from Sammi at Mad for Markers Store.

Is this just the cutest snowman from Magnolia, stamped using Momento Ink

First I use C3 to colour shaded, creased areas or where I feel the light would highlight the snow. This is only a very thin line or lightly touching to dot the area.

Secondly I use C1 and lightly feather blend or dot where I have used C3, then I use the C1 to lightly colour odd places, this image is perfect as there are dots which give you a guideline where colour is needed.

Finally I use BG10 and lightly blend into the C1 & c3 to get this effect. I have TGF snowmen which are much smaller and found it better to only use the C1 and BG10.

Finally I coloured the rest of him, and this is how he looks. Added Special effects and some Crushed Velvet Lilac Flock to his ear muffs and fur trim

and made my first ever tent card, I heat embossed the snowflakes, cardstock is elegant eggplant
I don't feel I have said to much lol! So please if I haven't explained something properly please le me know.

Copics Used (available from Mad for Markers)
