Time Out......

......with my best friend who was visiting for a week. We did the usual stuff, like....
.....having a 'pampering' day at a rather swanky new salon...

.... which also involved, amongst other lovely treats, having my toenails painted... a rather vivid shade of turquoise (don't ask!).....

....followed by a wonderful visit to....
...a very special Lady...

....whose interiors are sumptious in the extreme, some of them quite art-deco, including beautiful artefacts which would make your eyes water! (no photos allowed, or else!).
On another day, we visited a quirky little art gallery full of quirky little things like....

...reminds me of a teapot that Alice might use at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party.....

....and she might put her toast on this rack!.....

....these Russian Dolls look a wee bit spooky without faces, don't you think?....

.....I loved this bowl.....

....and of course, this adorable little crocheted bag....
...all followed by tea and scones and a lovely vista from the cafe window!

Unfortunately, as is the way, all good things must come to an end so I waved goodbye to my friend from the railway platform as her train pulled out of the station and am now looking forward to her and her husband's return in June, accompanied by their daughter and new grandaughter, all the way from New Zealand. In the meantime, it's back to the saltmines for me - mustn't get too used to being a lady-of-leisure, I might get to like it!
**************
Hope you all have a very good week and thank you for visiting and leaving your lovely comments last time around.
Lots of Love

Lazy Sunday........

......no-one wants/needs anything from me today (now there's a novelty!) and no clock to watch because the battery's run out and I haven't recharged the new ones yet, so very busy doing nothing in particular.....
......except enjoying the pretty petals of the daffodils which have finally opened up their happy faces to the sun (yes, that big yellow thing in the sky has at last made an appearance!).....

......and never getting tired of taking pics of my coastline (though you maybe tired of seeing them!)....

....that's Arthur's Seat to the right of the pic and if you zoom in really closely, you can just about make out Edinburgh Castle to the right of that - on second thoughts, maybe you'll need a really big pair of binoculars but trust me, it's there......
....the Fife coastline on the other side of the River Forth (it's a mighty big river!) which washes out further down the coast into the North Sea ......
.....squinting and zooming, you can see the Forth Bridges.....
...blue skies and fluffy white clouds
.....perfect view
.....Lazy Sundays are the best ....making the most of the last one for a while!

In other news, I heard from Gill on the other side of the pond who was my swap partner in the Spring Bouquet Swap organised by my pal Betty, to say that her parcel had arrived. This is what I sent her.....

.....a crocheted cushion cover, adorned with lots of roses as a nod to Gill's horticultural passion.....
.....and an 'African Flower' Mandala because she's 'AfricanAussie'!
.....I hope she liked everything.

Lots of unfinished projects lying around here.....
...supposed to be an 'Ikat' throw but got fed-up after just the second half-strip so did the square for the middle and am now edging the piece with a very large border and will hopefully be able to call it a throw when it's eventually finished!
****
....then decided to join in with my UK Freeformers Group latest project over on Ravelry, having not even finished the last project for NatCroMo (March being National Crochet Month but this is now April and I still haven't completed the piece because I don't know what it wants to be...yet!)
.....not everyone likes 'freeform' but I do - you can make mistakes and call them a 'design feature' and no-one notices, or cares! that's why it appeals so much to the rebel in me who can't/won't adhere to the strict routine of the written pattern!Naughty Old Me!

.....new colours ready, willing and hopefully able to do this beautiful item some freeform justice....

...and lastly, the latest addition to my extended family and ever-so-grateful little recipient of at least one finished project......
.....which arrived just in time to keep her snug as a bug during her New Zealand winter......can't wait to see her in person when she visits these shores in June/July.
Now if you'll forgive me, I must away and do justice to the rather large bacon and cheese pretzel which has my name on it......those kind of projects I have no problem in finishing!!!

How are you spending your Sunday?
Have a great week everyone.
Love You All
