Rolls-Royce Phantom

Rolls-Royce Phantom is a luxury sedan, which was launched in 2003 as a model. It 'was the first Rolls-Royce is a car designed and built under the ownership of BMW, which bought the company in 1998.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

Alignment before the appearance of the car with the Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe and Drop Head Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe, the new streamlined front bumper has been designed and integrated lower grille, polished stainless steel.

Other exterior features include new lighting LED door handle and the installation of a 21-inch aluminum wheels as standard. Two options there are two other tires manufactured in forged alloy and available in polished or painted finishes or in part.

Inside, updated by Rolls-Royce Phantom, rear passengers will benefit from a new RCA component input which provides an additional audio and visual link to 12-inch monitors mounted within the picnic tables. Other features include new front and rear door cappings with integrated handles and new bi-directional double reading lights, and the C-pillar provide additional illumination. Rear climate control, volume control and electric window switches are now repositioned, located in the door panel with wood veneer.

Just as the presence of the Phantom is quietly authoritative, direct injection V12 engine power delivery is equally impressive. At 70 mph for more than 90% of the power is available in the reserve, which is the effortless acceleration.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

Despite the classic look, the phantom power to use some very advanced technologies. Sedan is built on an aluminum space frame, which yields about 500 kg lighter than its nearest rival - the Mercedes Maybach.

Of course, the car is relatively heavy on the threshold of 5798 kg, and if its 6.75-liter V12 engine producing 453 horsepower at 5350 rpm and 531 pound-feet of torque at 3500 rpm, the power drives the Phantom 60 mph in just 5.7 seconds.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

Phantom is unique, advanced aluminum frame is welded by hand more than 500 separate parts, with more than 100 meters of welding. Incredibly light but solid, which is both rigid and dynamic. When combined with the state of suspension technology in art, creating the air cushion "Magic Carpet Ride" is unique to Rolls-Royce. The double-walled floor flat of the spaceframe hides much of the technology, which is conspicuous by its apparent absence. This adds to the calm atmosphere in the isolation of the passengers on the road noise and the flat floor allows plenty of room to stretch.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars uses a newly developed color process in which the dye penetrates through the hidden depths. This produces an extremely soft, natural finish that will not fade or crack.

2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost

2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost is the most powerful car that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has produced. However, Rolls-Royce power is delivered in a manner very different from other cars. This is a fancy way cuddle some have described as being designed to slow the pulse, not increase it.

2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost

The principle of simplicity extends to make driving Rolls-Royce Ghost. A series of complex modeling software and technologies to serve under the surface make driving easier and more fun, does not intrude into, or mixed.

Rolls-Royce Ghost is more concentrated than any driver Rolls-Royce car before it. The driver sits in a slightly elevated position at the wheel, describes the authority of the position. This makes it much clearer view of the road. Dashboard was deliberately light, has a spacious design and intuitive layout. The inspections are clean shaped, with the most important functions of the stress of chrome accents. Soft lighting and glare dash through the familiar black-rimmed steering wheel, which in turn employs a number of violin keys and an ergonomic roller-ball control.

2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost

The living Spirit 2011 Rolls-Royce is the fourth new Rolls-Royce Phantom to appear from the imperious rewritten the rulebook for super luxury cars in 2003. Or, to put it another way, Rolls-Royce launched the largest number of new cars in the 11 years since the BMW brand snatched floors below the nose of the VW boss Ferdinand Piëch Group as it had in the past 50 years .

For anyone who is the car of 2011 Rolls-Royce Phantom truly historic: This is the first small Rolls-Royce has launched since 1949 Silver Dawn. "Small" is a relative term, however. Although 17.1 inches shorter than the Phantom sedan is 212.6 inches ghost still 4.3 inches longer than a Bentley Continental Flying Spur, and weighs a substantial 5450 pounds. This is not a compact economic Rolls.

This is mainly due to the twin-turbo 6.6-liter engine V-12 car that runs on a massive 563 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. This makes it more powerful than the ghost of the ghost despite being placed under, which ensures that drivers of cars of the range Rolls-Royce.

2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost

The monster V-12 missiles in 2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost from 0 to 60 km / h in just 4.8 seconds - comparable to some sports cars - and look, it is easy to reach a top speed electronically limited to 155 mph. Fuel economy is rated at 13/20 mpg highway / town, which is very reasonable considering the size of the car and performance. Sending drive to the rear wheels is a ZF eight-speed automatic transmission.

The fall 2006 Paris Motor Show: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars announced that it had begun work on a series of new models. The new car will be in the production and sale at the beginning of the decade. The only other facts confirmed at this stage were that would be smaller than the sedan Rolls-Royce Phantom and the price somewhere between € 200,000 and € 300,000, excluding VAT.

2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost

Little was seen of the new car, called RR4, until spring 2008, when Rolls-Royce released the first official sketches. The styling is instantly recognizable as a Rolls-Royce, although less traditional than previous models. At that time, Chief Designer, Ian Cameron, said: "The RR4 has a more informal presence than the Phantom models with a focus on the conduct of design, this is expressed through its slightly smaller dimensions, but with targeted high proportion It is a true and uncompromising .. Rolls-Royce in every sense. "

As the observations of the secret development models on the road increased, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presented Rolls-Royce 200EX, the experimental forerunner of the Rolls-Royce Ghost at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009. An instant hit, 200EX bore the stamp of the design elements of Rolls-Royce, but in a totally convincing. It was a clear statement of intent.

That the design team was trying to create a modern Rolls-Royce with a new dynamism, but remained true to its legacy of luxury. They found inspiration in the furniture, contemporary architecture and yachts, but also in the spirit of the 1930 - the sense of adventure and taste - they wanted to capture the character of this new car.

"200EX is a modern execution of timeless Rolls-Royce elegance, breaking with some areas of tradition but retaining the core values that make our unique brand," says CEO Tom Purves. "We expect more informal design to broaden the appeal of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, attracting people who appreciate its fusion of refinement, new technology and modern style. "

2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost

After the show, 200EX embarked on a world tour, during which information about the upcoming production model was available. It would be powered by a 6.6-liter V12-specific new brand, which offers 563 horsepower with extraordinary performance figures. Airborne rode a smart and dynamic Peerless billing. And it would be called Rolls-Royce Ghost.

"Ghost is one of the most respected names in the automotive industry," said Tom Purves. "It conjures up images of adventure and technical innovation. The first cars to bear the name phantom were known not only for impressive reliability and refinement but also great flair and style. "

2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost

After the very positive reaction to 200EX when traveling, few changes were made in the transition to the production of Rolls-Royce Ghost - a tribute to the remarkable achievements of Ian Cameron and Helmut Riedl and engineering design teams.

In September 2009, the new Rolls-Royce Ghost was officially launched in the world.

Sleek Rolls-Royce Ghost is dominated by a style of his "Yacht Line" majestic. Large, uninterrupted flow between the surfaces finely molded horizontal lines that give the definition. Along the threshold upward sweep and cut bottom of the roof to create a powerful profile, almost as if the car was pushed back. powerful shoulders and flanks draw heavily because they flow from the rear fender to the taillights, while touches such as exhaust Optional chrome dash of Rolls-Royce Ghost is more dynamic.

While incorporating classic design elements of Rolls-Royce - the bell bow high, long, short front overhang, sharply inclined A-pillar and elegant tail - Rolls-Royce Ghost exudes an informal aura. Contemporary touches include self-righting center of the wheel and xenon headlamps that flank the latest evolution of the Rolls-Royce grille. Here the sides of the entrance to the inner curved blades have a setback in the opening. "We wanted this to be less traditional style reminiscent of the Parthenon and more like a jet intake," says Ian Cameron.

A silver satin finish contrast (introduced in the 200EX) is an option for the bonnet, grille and windshield. The finish is obtained by setting silver metallic paint on a layer of lacquer, giving a perfect matte finish.

The key principle is to offer the simplicity of complexity runs all Rolls-Royce Phantom. Everything is designed, developed and designed to improve training and driving experience, not to complicate matters.

2011 Rolls-Royce Ghost

Within Rolls-Royce Ghost, the interior design team has created a contemporary setting while remaining true to the traditions of quality materials Rolls-Royce Motor Cars' and comfort. It is elegant, frosted lamps and chrome door, traditional violin key switches and air vents of the globe, make frosted white and refined instrumentation. Deep carpets can be complemented by the choice of lambswool floor mats for a feeling of real luxury.

Rolls-Royce is known for producing cars that go beyond the car. It 'a magic attached to the name, which is partly due to an obsessive attention to detail and the finest materials are used throughout.

Over 60 pairs of hands, the production process involves more than 2,000 individual operations and takes at least 20 days to complete.

Rolls-Royce Ghost
from the paint shop as Phantom and spends seven days being painted and polished to perfection. The five steps are necessary for the body of Rolls-Royce Phantom. First, an electro-phosphate coating is applied to protect against corrosion, and a primer, a color layer, and finally two coats of clear lacquer. The body is part of sand between your hands and then apply the final coat is hand polished for five hours.

Rolls-Royce Ghost is available in 12 exterior colors, each of which can be compared with the hood satin silver as an option.

Rolls-Royce 100EX Centenary Review

The car was produced to celebrate 100 years, meeting the businessman Charles Rolls and Frederick Henry Royce engineer. The numbers speak for themselves, but to get a better idea of the size of the car in solid silver Spirit of Ecstasy is seven feet (2.1 m) from the driver. The outputs of the engine are not specified by the company, but the motoring press estimate about 700 hp (520 kW) and 700 lb.-ft. (950 Nm) of torque is close to the actual figures.

Rolls-Royce 100EX Centenary

Much has been made to its unveiling of a production version, but Rolls-Royce said they will not produce. But the car was very easy to put into production as the work pieces. The company would not be profitable with the current Phantom sedan, and this model will help ensure the viability of the brand. This car has replaced the defunct Corniche (2000 - 2002), as was the same type of car and target the same market.

However, by 2005 it was confirmed that two-door four-seater convertible inspired by the 100EX and codenamed RR02, will enter production in 2007. Be slightly smaller than the 100EX. Power will come from the 6, 75 liters V12 engine, the new model will share with the Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

When Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveiled the Rolls-Royce Phantom in 2003, it heralded a new era for the brand, proudly takes its position at the forefront of automotive design and engineering.

The work is a maxim of its founder Sir Henry Royce - "strive for perfection in everything you do" - and the design team has spent four years developing this innovative model. Using the latest technology, inspired by the rich heritage of the company, their goal was to cut: develop 21 st century, Rolls-Royce, which would be truly worthy of the famous Spirit of Ecstasy.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

The result was the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Built on a new state-of-the-art factory in Goodwood, this flagship Rolls-Royce secured its revival by combining the spirit of his ancestors celebrated with advanced technology and technology visionary.

Design

Creating a strong identity for the Rolls-Royce Phantom was important, says chief designer Ian Cameron: "Our priority was to create a car that was obviously a Rolls-Royce from any angle, even if the Spirit of Ecstasy and the grid could not be famous to be seen. "

To identify this core essence, the design team immersed themselves in the brand and its history. It highlighted the elements of classic style, a long bonnet, wide C-pillars and discrete windows, all of which were incorporated into the design of the Rolls-Royce Phantom. Its powerful, permanent and dynamic, rising profile also unmistakable Rolls-Royce.

However, advanced features like an aluminum frame and single motor gasoline direct injection pioneered leave no doubt that this is a car in the forefront of technology.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

Exactly the same can be said about the unique coach back doors, which are evidence of advanced technologies available in the entire Rolls-Royce Phantom. Hinges on the back, they allow rear passengers in and out of the car free of charge and can be closed with the touch of a button.

The interior of the Rolls-Royce Phantom is clean and contemporary design simplicity belying the technology under. The controls are not necessary for everyday driving are kept out of sight until needed. The multi-media, for example, is hidden behind a rotating panel in the center of the dashboard, which normally shows an analog clock round. This apparent simplicity extends to the operation of controls as well: even the very sophisticated audio system can be operated with a single button.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

A feature of Rolls-Royce Phantom, and in particular how the most advanced technology combines with traditional crafts by hand to produce something extraordinary. Switches, power windows and audio system are beautifully crafted 'violin keys', while Chrome vents operated by "organ stop" traditional. In conjunction with the use of best leathers and wood veneers, it is this fusion high technology and craftsmanship that gives the interior its unique and luxurious feeling.

Engineering

The essence of Rolls-Royce Phantom is a sophisticated, lightweight aluminum space frame - a single platform and advanced specifically designed by the team of engineers from Rolls-Royce experience to provide a refined and implemented to drive.

Built from more than 200 three-dimensional box of aluminum profile extrusion blown Rolls-Royce Phantom is the rigidity of a

Formula 1 car. Entirely by hand, using about 120 meters of welding, the frame is finished as if it were a precision instrument: Each is controlled by laser to ensure accuracy in a fraction of a millimeter. The frame is placed on a platform of computer-guided machine - the largest car industry - at the critical points are machined with unprecedented accuracy.

Without the need to provide structural support, the panels of Rolls-Royce Phantom bodies are simply placed on the chassis.

Made of lightweight aluminum and composite materials, which adds a minimum weight of the car. Only the boot is made of steel, designed to facilitate 50/50 weight distribution so desirable for perfect handling.

Rolls-Royce Phantom is a lightweight and rigid provides the basis for the extraordinary dynamic capability. This is an excellent handling - enthusiastic drivers will appreciate the precision with which can be placed on the road - but not at the expense of travel that is as quiet and comfortable as you might expect, the Rolls-Royce. Space Frame also helps to eliminate noise, vibration and harshness, to promote the tremendous calmness and tranquility of the Rolls-Royce Phantom interior.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

The extraordinary integrity of the spatial structure of aluminum also offers significant advantages of security, which provide excellent occupant protection. But this is not the only area where safety is integrated into the design of Rolls-Royce Phantom. The location of the rear seat behind the pillar C, for example, is inherently safer than the traditional position next to the door and deny the need for rear side airbags. In a collision, so the effect is progressively absorbed by crumple zones designed to dissipate the force through the chassis and underbody. Of course, Rolls-Royce Phantom has been designed to pass all current safety laws.In addition, Rolls-Royce Phantom contains a number of safety systems using the latest technology and to guide the

Intelligent Safety and Information System (ISIS). ISIS takes readings from sensors located in different parts of the car, and the event of a collision, will make up to 4000 calculations, the second to establish its severity, and before the use of airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners, or necessary . ISIS works in conjunction with other security systems installed by Rolls-Royce Phantom, including Dynamic Stability Control and Dynamic Traction Control.

Conduct

In the heart of the Rolls-Royce Phantom is the 6.75-liter naturally aspirated V12. Designed specifically for the Rolls-Royce Phantom and hand assembled by Rolls-Royce technicians, this sophisticated engine develops a massive 720 lbs-ft of torque, 413 lb-ft available at 1,000 rpm. On the road that leads to an instantaneous power, muscular, bearing the Rolls-Royce Phantom from 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds. Maximize traction extraordinary Rolls-Royce Phantom V12, a six-speed transmission with automatic electronic control helps to achieve a transparent and effortless progress for which Rolls-Royce is famous.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

Rolls-Royce Phantom offers a unique passenger experience, but many owners have suggested that the best place to sit behind the wheel. The view from the driver's seat is elevated along the bottom of the field hat Spirit of Ecstasy is the most inspiring in motor sport, while beautifully crafted, thin steering wheel rim is a pleasure to hold and provides immediate feedback on the wheels. Despite its size, Rolls-Royce Phantom excellent dynamics and are easy to precisely position when cornering. Intoxicating and yet extremely relaxing, it offers a driving experience of purity and precision.

The exterior finish

Surprisingly modern and immaculately proportioned, Rolls-Royce Phantom is a car of extraordinary elegance. Matching the beauty of its exterior design is a mirror gloss lacquer, shows great skill in painting technicians Goodwood. Five coats of paint and varnish is applied to all Rolls-Royce Phantom - seven if it's a two-tone car - and between each application, our technicians sand the body by the hand. After the last coat was applied, the body is hand-polished for five hours to give a finish unmatched depth and luster.

There are 15 standard exterior colors that the customer can choose, although up to 45 000 different shades available in the custom program. In accordance with Rolls-Royce tradition, single or double lines can be determined by coach. Nearly six feet high, and only the level, these are carefully painted by hand in the process, which takes three hours for each row. Our artists can also custom design and apply models for each customer Rolls-Royce Phantom.

Two subwoofers are in resonance chambers 16 liters in the space created by the plant of Rolls-Royce Phantom double, while a combination of mid-range 100 mm and 25 mm tweeter arrays are in the front and rear doors , and on the platform above the dashboard. The result is a "sweet spot", a sound that encompasses the entire interior, giving the perfect surround sound experience from anywhere in the car.For entertainment again, the configuration of the theater added two screens of 12 inches set in the tables in the back.

Each skin is carefully inspected by hand to identify any gaps. 450 shares cutting leather cut using a precision laser, first carefully sewn by hand.

Three different types of leather are used: the natural grain of the seats and trim, pre-shrunk in the sunlit and released (in relief) in the center console and door panels to provide an interesting variation. The process of a barrel of dye usedto color the skin gives a richer and uniform pigmentation throughout the skin while preserving the natural softness and grain. There are 13 standard colors, but many more are available through the customized program.

According to the specification, up to 43 pieces of wood are used in every Rolls-Royce Phantom. Each is constructed from up to 28 layers of wood, interspersed with thin sheets of aluminum to provide strength and prevent the collapse on impact.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

The wood veneer used comes from sustainable forests and chosen for their richness and complexity of the grain. There are six standard veneers, including walnut and maple Birds Eye, but no number is available through the customized program. Whatever your choice, customers can be assured of a high quality finish. Craftsmen, many taken from the yacht-building and

fine woodworking industries, carefully book-match every veneer inside the Rolls-Royce Phantom. To create the Phantom Extended Wheelbase, was an additional 250 mm added to the back seat behind the B-pillars. The extra length is achieved simply by using longer overhangs in the construction of the space frame, which was developed specifically to allow long wheelbase models. Consequently, no torque loss, Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Wheelbase retains not only the powerful look of the standard car, but its outstanding performance and refined driving dynamics. The only major need for new parts is a new aluminum roof and door panels - and thanks to Goodwood flexible production processes extended wheelbase Phantom will be built next to the Rolls-Royce Phantom without problems.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

The interior of the wheelbase Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended offers plenty of additional space and are particularly suitable for the inclusion of features to measure - for example, a wall of privacy of passengers.
