On this page we will try to answer some of the most common questions the This World programme receives by e-mail. The topics discussed this week were: When is the programme broadcast?
This World has no regular day or time slot and often varies from series to series. If you would like to be reminded about upcoming programmes, please sign up to our free SMS alert service. Read more here: Text alerts To check further transmission details for This World and other BBC programmes, visit the BBC listings site : What's On. Some, but not all, programmes are repeated. For details, check the This World website:This World homepage. Some, but not all, programmes are also shown on BBC World News. As BBC World News is a commercial channel, its listings are published separately on the BBC World News website. Can I watch the programme on this site?
Yes, we are now streaming most This World films in broadband, subject to rights restrictions. To access this service please press the video icon in the top right-hand corner of the This World website. Programmes are streamed live and then on-demand for at least seven days after transmission.
Why will my computer not play the video?
If you cannot watch/play video clips then it could be that your computer does not have the correct software needed to watch video from a BBC website. You can download RealOne Player for free, which will enable you to watch all BBC website clips, from the RealPlayer website.
Why has my comment not been published on the Have Your Say page?
We cannot publish all comments that we receive because of the high volume. However, we aim to publish a good cross-section of the views we receive.
Why has my comment been edited?
The BBC is responsible for all the comments published on the site. Therefore, we have to remove any libellous or potentially libellous statements from messages. We also aim to publish as many comments as possible, and will sometimes shorten statements to make it easier for users to read as many different views as possible.
How can I find information on previous programmes? There is a search facility on the top right hand side of every This World web page, which you can use to find details of any programmes you may be interested in. Simply type in the subject or name of the programme and the site will search and display all of the related stories contained on the This World site.
How can I find information on forthcoming programmes? We publish programme details a week in advance of transmission on this site, though this can be subject to change.
How can I get hold of a programme transcript? Programme transcripts of all episodes of This World are published on the website a day or two after transmission.
How can I submit programme ideas? Programme ideas can be submitted by e-mail to: thisworld@bbc.co.uk or by post to: The Editor This World MC4 C1 Media Centre 201 Wood Lane, London W12 7TQ.
Can you tell me about job opportunities/work experience? All BBC jobs are advertised on the BBC jobs website. The site also includes information on careers and trainee schemes within the BBC. All BBC work experience queries should be directed to: BBC Work Experience PO Box 27118 London W12 8ZL Tel: 020 8225 9883 Email: work.experience@bbc.co.uk
