Christmas glitter...

I liked the idea of using my big stars
as tree toppers,
so I added a clothes pin on the back
to make them easier to use...

How surprised I was
when I tried them in different displays
around my home!
I think they make everything so festive...

I hope they will also look good
on my Christmas tree,
but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to try that...
that's when I decorate it!
(Argentinian tradition)

I'm having computer troubles...grrrr
I'm not sure if I can visit you today,
but if you can, visit all the
White Wednesday girls for me!

UPDATE:
BOTH SOLD
but more in production

It's coming...

Slowly....

but surely.

Well, not really...
there is nothing slow
about it!

Christmas will be here
before we know it,
so I better keep working!

Sparkly Friday

If you think that $1.00 doesn't buy you anything these days,
you have to stop by the $1.00 bin at Michael's....

You can get 4 containers of shiny, pretty, yummy glitter...

4...for $1.00...all gorgeous and sparkly colors...

You can argue that $1.00 doesn't buy you anything useful or healthy or necessary....

But that's just a matter of opinion!

What are doing reading this silly blog???
Run to Michael's and get yourself some glitter!!!

Have a colorful weekend!!

Just because...

Yesterday it took me a little while to make something.

I didn't want to paint because I was having a Good Hair Day...
(in case this doesn't make sense to you, let me explain that every time I paint, I end up with paint on my hair!!)

I couldn't sew...
my machine was acting up and I just couldn't figure it out.

But I really wanted to make something!

Reached for papers, scissors, glitter and came up with these...

Let's be honest...
They are totally useless...

but they make me happy!

Their only function in life, it's just being...

here....

there...

and everywhere...!

And I think that's a good enough reason to make some more!

White Wednesday...

They are very small...about 3 inches tall...

Each one holds a vintage picture...

...a tiny glittered key....

and inspiring words...

They are very small in size...

but very big in charm!

and this White Wednesday hosted for sweet Kathleen from Faded Charm
was the perfect occasion to show them off!

Too hot!

The hot weather is keeping us from painting big furniture or working on big projects...

But is not keeping us from having some vintage-glitter fun!...

Yesterday we made some cute paper pennants just to show that..

Yes, sometimes we do feel like Princesses...
...some other times we are the Junk Divas...
...while most of the time we are Vintage Chicks...

And because we know that our customers feel the same way we do,
we made a whole bunch to sell!

Just enough cuteness, enough whimsy and a whole lot of charm...don't you think?

Ruffled Ornaments Tuttorial

One woman's trash....is that same woman's treasure....After actually pulling this bag of empty ribbon spools out of my own trash can , twice!, I decided it was destined to become something cute, glittery and inexpensive (my 3 favorite words!)

That's how this (our first) tutorial started....I know that you have some of these around your craft room...

Using your fave glue, mine is Tacky Glue, squeeze a generous amount around one of the sides:

Scrunch crepe paper (streamers), and press at the same time on the glue, creating a ruffle on the flat surface. Keep going all around....

Create a second ruffle, smaller than the first one...

To cover the center, I used a couple of matching papers circles. I cut them using scalloped scissors just for a little more detail. I added some ink to the edges to give them more definition and a vintage feel. (A picture could also be used for a personalized ornament) Glue it to the ruffle's center.

I made a little banner by stamping my words, but you can make yours using your computer or by practicing your beautiful handwriting!...A little more ink for shading.....

And Yes! glitter!!!! I used the German Glass from The Shabby Cottage Studio, thanks Gail!

Finally, cover the inside with a pretty ribbon, the back of your ornament with a pretty paper and add another piece of ribbon for hanging. Attach your banner using a glue gun. Just one dot of glue on each side will do!

I think my trash became a pretty treasure! Look how cute they look when finished:

I hope you give them a try next time you feel crafty. If not, you can always find them for sale at our store!

Happy creating! Make sure you subscribe to our blog to receive updates and more tutorials!
