Welcome back Oddballs!
We're back for another fun challenge here at Oddball Stamps and I feel that before I go any further today it's finally time I share the news, news that tbh I am beginning to second guess myself on, news that has my head a whirlwind of thoughts and ideas, a mental conflict that I just can't seem to resolve so maybe getting it out and hearing feedback from all you will help cement a decision! If you rather just jump right into our new challenge TLDR, the challenge begins at the purple stripe.
Eny Dunn and myself have been working behind the scenes on a brand new challenge that we will be launching January 1 called the Clever Dexter Challenge. The Clever Dexter Challenge will be a monthly challenge with a theme and color palette to follow, a new sponsor each month. Oddball of course will be one of the sponsors but it won't be exclusively an Oddball Challenge.
The original plan was to shut the Oddball challenge down at the close of next months challenge completely. The blog would remain active with inspiration posts and tutorials on Fridays but the challenge would cease to exist.
Since it all started to become real, I have been lamenting this decision. I have also been bouncing some ideas around in my head, some new ideas to keep the Oddball challenge going but with some changes, here are my ideas....
- Connect the challenge to Creepy Cute Chronicles, have it revolve around the featured images, could be weekly, bi-weekly or even monthly. Sketches, color palettes and themes are all possibilities, maybe something different for every challenge.
- Holiday challenges only, instead of a monthly challenge like we've always done, the challenge would revolve around the biggest holidays like Christmas, Halloween, Easter, St.Paddys Day and Valentines Day.
- Lastly, the original plan, its been a fun 5 years but everything comes to an end eventually! Shut er down and move on!
I would love to hear what you think, let me know in the comments and next month I will confirm a decision. I can't wait to hear what you all think of the whole thing!
