A Merry Little Snowlady

Christmas in July is a great way to get a start on all of those Christmas cards that we always say we will make early, and then come late November we suddenly realize we don't have enough cards once again.  This week for One Crazy Stamper I have colored up the adorable Snowlady Surprise from High Hopes Rubber stamps.

The image was stamped on Copic Xpress It cardstock with Memento ink and then colored with Copic sketch markers.  To add further dimension to the image I added Prismacolor pencils to the shadows and highlights, and blended it out with Gamsol.  Echo Park's Hello Winter paper is the card base, and the sentiment is from my stash - an old Waltzing Mouse stamp.

Fluffle Hugs!!!

Did you know that a group of bunnies is called a Fluffle?  Seemed fitting for this card to be entitled Fluffle Hugs!  I decided to make a fluffle of bunnies using the High Hopes Rubber stamp image "Flop Eared Rabbit (H013), by masking and stamping the image five times.  Gotta love fluffles!!

After the image was grouped together I colored them with Copic markers, and then added depth and highlights with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol.  I then fussy cut the fluffle, and placed it on to a card front with a clear acetate panel, showcasing the patterned paper on the inside of the card.  The stamped sentiment is from one of my Stamping Bella images, and HUGS was cut with a My Favorite Things die.

Card Supplies - Copics - 100, T5, T8, T10, E11, E13, E15, E35, E37, E39, E41, E42, E43, E44, E50, E51, E53, R11
Prismacolor pencils - 935 Black, 943 Burnt Ochre, 1084 Ginger root, 1082 Chocolate, 1083 Putty Beige, 1094 Sandbar Brown, 938 White

Totally Fintastic Sepia!!!

So for my last post this month here at One Crazy Stamper I've tried a new technique - using just two colors of Prismacolor pencils to create an all Sepia colored image on Kraft cardstock! I first saw the technique on a Designed to Color showcase here, and since I love the sepia look I had to give it a try.
For my first attempt at this technique I think it turned out okay, maybe a little bit darker then I would really like, but practice makes perfect. The image is "Bella" from Whimsy Stamps, that I stamped on kraft cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I then used Prismacolor PC938 White and PC 948 Sepia to color the highlights and shadows, and blended the colors together with Gamsol and two blending stumps. The dp is Bo Bunny's Key Lime Making Waves.

Pretty Posey

I have another HoneyPop creation for One Crazy Stamper today.  I just love the cute cards that can be made with these sets.
This is the Pretty Posey set.  I used the yellow honeycomb paper pad for the flower center.  On the front of the card I used my Inky Antics stamp set and a brown honeycomb paper pad for the front border on the card.

The image is colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.

Inchin' By...

Happy Monday!  I have some Inky Antics goodness for you today for my One Crazy Stamper Post!
I decided to go with this adorable HoneyPop set because this cute little fellow just makes me grin!

He is colored in the traditional Inky Antics way; Prismacolor Pencils and blended out with Gamsol.
I dressed the feller up a bit with a glittery bow that I fussy cut and popped on with a glue dot.

Inside of the card is the HoneyPop surprise!  The dear little fellow is holding up his HoneyPop apple.  The flower centers bordering the inside of this card are glittered as well for an additional touch of fun!

Papers for this card are from My Mind's Eye's Lime Twist Life of the Party and Fly A Kite collections.

Holiday Sweets

It's Terrific Tuesday here at One Crazy Stamper, so that means it's my turn to show you a project! Since the challenge theme for this month is Anything Goes, I have not made a card today, but instead made a candle for Christmas giving.
The image is an adorable House Mouse stamp called Christmas Cookie Eaters, that I stamped with Staz on ink on to tissue paper, then colored with Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol. The edges around the image were torn and inked with a Gathered Twigs Distress Ink pad. The sprinkles on the cookies were colored with Siren, Gold Lame, and Luscious Lime Smooch metallic paint accents to add a shimmer to the image. The candle was finished with a braided ribbon trim from my stash.

Shiver Me Timbers!!!

Here's another card that fits this month's challenge theme of Kraft, Red and Black.  This is High Hopes "The Thundering Rogue" available here at OCS.

I stamped the image with Versa Mark embossing ink and used black embossing powder to heat emboss the image.  Using only three colors of Prismacolor pencils ( black , crimson red, and light umber ), and Gamsol with Tortillons I colored and blended out the colors to give shadows and highlights.  The sentiment is from an older Kraftin' Kimmie sentiment set, and to finish off the edges on the card front I used Tim Holtz's Black Soot Distress Ink Pad.

One Crazy Monday....

It's still Monday for a few hours!  GASP!  It's been a busy week around here with Swimming Lessons, Piano Lessons, Birthday/Pool Parties and some CHA design work!

Today I'm sharing a card using an Inky Antics HoneyPop set.  This set is called Turtle and has some fun images and sayings in it.

These sets work with the HoneyComb Paper Pads to create a fun 3D surprise on the inside of your card.

For the front of my card, I used my new Fabulous Flowers stamp set with Inky Antics to create the grass and the rosette flower.  These are super simple to use and create quite the fun flat embellishments for your card.

I colored these images with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.  I used papers from the My Mind's Eye Lime Twist Collections.

I layered Mr. Turtle here on a Martha Stewart Punch Around The Page panel.

Be sure to check out the store for more fun HoneyPop Stamp Sets and Honeycomb Paper Pads.  Lora always has fun sales to browse as well.

Under The Weather?

I have another get well card for you today.....since it's umbrella season and all!!  This time it's for One Crazy Stamper featuring the Inky Antics HoneyPoP set Umbrella Friends.

I stamped my images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then colored them with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol.
These cards are fun because the designing isn't just left to the outside of the card....but continues inside as well!  Check out that adorable HoneyPoP umbella element!

Other elements on this card are designer paper from My Mind's Eye, Candi embellishments and a touch of Faux Stitching.

Be sure to stop by and see what SALES Lora has going this week!  You won't want to miss them!

Funny Birthday Wishes!

For my One Crazy Stamper post I am sharing another Inky Antics Honey Pop creation.  This time I used the Birthday Elephant Honey Pop set and a rainbow Honeycomb paper pad.

If you missed my tutorial on the coloring or assembling of these fun cards, please see last week's post.
You can decorate the inside of your card as much as you wish.  I cut out some circles from designer paper to ground my elephant...and was sure to add plenty of present accents.

Be sure to check often to see what sales Lora is offering....she has a great variety of items and is always adding goodies to the store!

Have a great week!

HoneyPoP and PrismaColor/Gamsol Tutorials

Today I'm sharing a card using Inky Antic's Baking Kitty HoneyPOP set.  I have a double tutorial for you...first how to color using PrismaColor Pencils and Gamsol, the Inky Antics way....and then a tutorial on how to assemble the HoneyPOP portion of the card.

You will want to use regular color pencils for this technique, not watercolor pencils.  You apply color to your image lightly where you want the most pigment.

Next, you will apply Gamsol (a brand of artist grade odorless mineral spirits) with paper stumps to blend your image.  This is effectively *melting* the wax of your pencil and smooths out pencil lines.
If your stump begins to drag or squeak, just rewet with more of the mineral spirits.

You can sharpen/clean your stumps on an emery board or sand paper.  Personally, I use one stump per color and don't bother with the cleaning or sharpening.

Now for the fun 3D HoneyPOP element on this card!  You will simply stamp the cake pieces on the desired colored HoneyPOP paper pads.

One hint here is to use a similar colored ink, this makes it less noticable if you leave a hint of the stamped image when cutting your pieces out.

You will want to create a 1/8 - 1/4 channel down the center of your card, rather than the traditional center fold.  This will allow for the honeypop element's thickness when the card is closed.   I am really unscientific about this....I use a Scor-Pal and just scoot my card over a titch to the right and score on the 4 1/4 inch mark and then flip my card and repeat; scooting my card over a titch and scoring again on the 4 1/4 inch mark.  This gives you two score lines, one on each side of center.

When it comes time to add your element to the inside of your card, you will simply cover one half with a glue stick and position just to the outer edge of your score line.   Your honeypop piece will fit into the *spine* you've created in your card.

Add glue stick to the top of the honeyPOP piece and carefully close your card. The next time you open your card you will see your HoneyPOP magic!

I like to dress up the interior of my cards, but if that is not your thing....a simple stamped sentiment and HoneyPOP element will still bring a smile!

You're My Top Dog!

Happy Monday!  Today for One Crazy Stamper I'm sharing some Inky Antics stamps and HoneyPop goodness!  This set is called Baking Pup.

I colored my image with PrismaColor Pencils and Gamsol for a soft and mellow look.  I paired the images up with My Mind's Eye designer paper, seam binding and some Candi.

The surprise comes when you open the card and a fun honeypop element opens!  In this case, an adorable puppy treat!

I added some colorful papers to the inside of my card and did some fussy cutting...but if that is not your thing, they are adorable when you just stamp them on the inside of the card as well.

Have you tried out HoneyPop papers?!  They are much fun....I'll be sharing more samples and a tutorial with you soon!
