Pinkness

Once again, it is Pink Saturday.  A few weeks ago, I showed you the goodies that my sweet friend, Karen, sent to me for our Easter swap.  I haven't gotten around to sharing what I sent her.  So, for this Pink Saturday, I am doing just that.
Here are the Easter goodies that I sent to Karen.  Lots of pinkness for sure!

~Elegant Egg that I made for her~

~Vintage millinery flowers, ribbons, pearls, vintage lace and trinkets, and some precious vintage "Score" cards~

~Little Miss Bunny that I made~
The roses brooch on Miss Bunny is removable so Karen can actually wear it if she wishes!  And Miss Bunny doesn't mind a bit!

Sweet little bunnies were nestled in all the goodies!

Karen loved all of her goodies!  I am so glad!

Happy Pink Saturday everyone!
Be sure to head over to Beverly's for more sweet pinkness!

Backing Up~Catching Up

Good morning my blogging friends!

It has gotten even crazier and scarier around here!  Read on, and you'll see why!

SECOND WEEK OF SPRING BREAK

My Dad was discharged from the hospital on Monday of my second week of break...and while doing so, my Mom was being admitted in the ER.

My Mom had not been feeling well the week before, but we thought it was exhaustion from so many hospital visits and the stress of my Dad being ill.  Little did we know what was about to come!  My Mom had double pneumonia and her white blood cell count was 1...that is ONE.  Normal is like 5,000!  She was in reverse isolation, so we had to wear masks and gloves in her room.  After staying at our hospital {and her doctor being on vacation} we decided to get her moved to a bigger hospital in Nashville.  They took her by ambulance, and at that point, we didn't know if she would make it there or not.  She was SO SICK and giving up!  We took my Dad out to see her before they took her because we didn't know if this would be the last time he'd see her or not...we didn't tell him how bad she was for fear of him having another stroke.  My Mom made the trip --PRAISE GOD--and is in such good hands there!  She has been there for 11 days now.  My sister {who lives out of state} came in and was staying at the hospital with Mom, and Daddy is with us.  We have been so impressed by the hospital and staff!  Her doctors and nurses are awesome!  My Mom is on a ventilator but only to keep her still and comfortable while they run many tests.  They have her sleeping through this all for days so she isn't aware of what's going on.  We had a setback on this past Tuesday when her vitals went all out of whack, but that was corrected pretty quickly.  She is stable now, her vitals are good, and her white cell count is coming UP!  PRAISE GOD!  They are weaning her from the ventilator now, and she's doing fine with that!  We will be so happy when she is awake again!  The doctors are hitting this thing from all angles and have been on top of everything.  They have a few more tests but they strongly believe this was caused from her arthritis meds.  They are getting that all out of her system, and she is now making more white blood cells.

My Dad is doing well, but he doesn't know everything that's going on with Mom.  We haven't lied to him at all, but we are careful on what information we give him.  We just can't risk another possible stroke!  He is being a good patient, taking his meds, eating well, and working hard with his PT and Speech Therapist!

I showed some of this already, because I got sooooo excited about this swap.  I feel sooooo blessed to have made a great new friend!!  Thanks to Dolly, at "From My Cherry Heart" for hosting this once again for us!  You're awesome!!

So, on with the show...
Karen, from Some Days Are Diamonds, was my partner for this swap.  And she was a diamond for sure!!  We emailed each other and snooped around each other's blog...hee hee but I kept blowing my cover, because I found so many posts that I wanted to comment on!  hee hee
My package arrived from Karen before the deadline.  It came on a day that I was home from work, feeling horrible from my wisdom teeth fiasco!  It couldn't have shown up on a better day...it was the PERFECT medicine!!  So, let's take a look at my goodies from Karen.  This sweet heart covered box with wonderful heart ribbon was what I saw inside the box.  I could hardly wait to get it opened, but I composed myself long enough to snap this pic...

OMGOSH!  So much to take in...
Look at those sweet little love birdies on this tea towel!

And LOOK at this beautiful L*O*V*E that Karen made for me.

MORE yummy goodies!   Wonderful ribbon and lace with sweet little hearts will be welcomed in my studio, for sure!
I told ya that Karen did some snooping around my blog.  lol  She found out that I adore red handled kitchen gadgets and cookies cutters.  I literally squealed with delight when I saw these.  I quickly found a home for them here...
These red handled cuties joined more cookie cutters here atop my vintage kitchen scales.

And the red handled gadgets join other gadgets, rolling pins, and advertising tins here.
Aren't those the cutest felt hearts she put on them to make them more festive!
The cone had yummy chocolates and mints inside.

I fell in love with this little plate.  Little did I know that Karen was married in 1980!  Wow!  That was fate!
I must have a valentine card for my partner on Valentine's Day.  I found this sweet little vintage card.  I love the cameo on it.  It came with a precious vintage hanky.
Buttons, Bits, and Baubles are a must!

Vintage Hearts

I am participating in Dolly's Vintage Heart Swap, for the third year. I have had such fun over the years with this swap, and met a lot of awesome and insanely talented ladies. I feel so blessed! Karen is my partner in this year's Vintage Heart Swap. I had not visited Karen's blog before, so it was really nice to get to know someone new. Karen is a busy lady, and oh-so-talented! We have a lot of things in common. So the day after my oral surgery {even though in pain} I had several things happen {from last post} that made the day better for me. I also said there was one more thing that happened, and left you hanging. That was because I felt this deserved a post all its own. That day, my box from Karen arrived!
OMGosh!
Was I ever excited!
Just take a look at why...

LOVE this cherub "L*O*V*E" creation. I bet Mrs. Karen created this in her wonderful studio! It found a home on my Vintage Valentine board.

The cone is filled with chocolates and mints. YUM-O! AND a cute little box of Sweetarts!
Isn't that little birdies tea towel just adorable?!?

OMGosh! How stinkin' cute is this little hedgehog!!!
Look at the little heart necklace!!

My little Valentine mice were more than happy to welcome her here.

This is the cutest little birdhouse. The shingles are
........wait for it.........

HEARTS!!!

Yummy lace and heart charms will find their way into future creations from my studio.
A veil of tulle with red felt hearts embellish these most wonderful red-handled kitchen gadgets.
When opening a cute little sheer drawstring bag, I found red-handled cookie cutters
*insert squeals here*

How did she ever know I collect those?!? *wink*
LOVE THEM!

A vintage vignette of old advertising tins, scales, and rolling pins was the perfect place for these great gadgets!

And not so far away, the cookie cutters found a home atop my kitchen scales.

Oh Karen...I LOVE EVERYTHING!!!
But most importantly, I have met YOU...a new friend with whom I want to stay in touch with!!

NOW...a Sneak Peek at what Karen will find in her box that is coming her way.

I have had such fun collecting/creating these goodies for you Karen!

I have taken great care in packaging all of Karen's goodies up in this box. So, Mr. Postman, please make sure you handle this with care. There is a fabulous treasure in here that will break!

When I hear from Karen that she has received her box, I'll share with you the contents in this Vintage Heart package.

Blessings from the heart,
Rebecca
