:: My Place or Yours: Wherever I lay my hat that's my home ... Meet Me at Mikes

The Theme Queen this week is Tania from Myrtle and Eunice ... and she writes :::

By the look in your eye I can tell you’re gonna cry.
Is it over me?
If it is, save your tears
For IIIIIIIIIIIIII’m not worth it, you see.
For I’m the type of boy who is always on the roam,
Wherever I lay my hat, that’s my home.*

(The Paul Young version because I have lived all this time until five minutes ago, without knowing Marvin Gaye was the original commitment-phobe, singing floozy).

The very lovely Pip is letting me play My Place and Yours Theme Queen this week. In true themely queenly style, I would love to know, what object would you take wherever you roam, because it makes your house feel like a ‘home’?

For me :::

Always on the move, always looking for something. It all fell into place fifteen years ago when I found everything I'd been searching for was right here ... right in me, with me, in my heart my soul!

Previously everywhere I lay my hat my photo's made my surroundings of the time mine, all mine. They made me smile, made me cry. Eventually the faces, the memories enticed me to decide the time was right. It was time to get off the merry-go-round that was life then.

Here's a glimpse of some of my photo's ... plus a smidge of other treasures including three items that co-incide with where we visited  yesterday.

The story of the three treasures will be told in my post tomorrow.

Take a peek at where others lay their hats HERE

::: SORRY this weeks GIVEAWAY isn't forgotten  :::

No fancy excuses just  I need more hours in my day.

I'll post a GIVEAWAY tomorrow ... please pop back!

My Place or Yours :: That's Nice, That's Different, That's Unusual

Pip's chosen Theme Queen this week is Toni from Little Suitcase.

Toni asks ::

Does your home have a quirky feature or several? Something you throw a strategically placed coat over if people are visiting or avoid telling the real estate agent about? You might be very proud of your house flaw. Maybe you have issues with plumbing, and give the Meryl Streep toilet speech from Mamma Mi ... read more HERE

Toni says she won't tell anyone else ... so on that basis I'll show my avoidance ...

Hidden under an armoire 50 cm wide mixing bowl filled with jewellery ...

... the only clue is the edge of a sandwich bag that peeks out trying to escape ...

... good grief look how much there is ...

... thanks heavens only Toni knows  ...

... phew my secret is still safe.

Meet me at Mikes ... Through the Front Door

Theme Queen for this week, Shelley from Femme de Montmartre, has chosen

"Through the front door ..."

Through the front door Blossom is waiting for me.

I often wonder how releaved she must be ...

as I am ...

to hear me safely through the front door  ...

Blossie's fave spot at night is atop an ottoman, close by me ...

on her back, legs in the air ...

searching ...

she finds my hand ...

she'll lie there for hours, if I let her ...

...  through the front door means safety to Blossie too.

Meet me at Mikes ... My Secret Weapon

What's your Secret Weapon asks Bricole over at Pips place?

Mmmmmm ... there's a zillion answers for this but ...

My secret weapon has to be my brain ...

everything I do is first done in my head ...

majority of the time it's like a twelve lane highway in there.

So much going on ... so many challenges ...

unfortunately some projects never make it out of there ...

that's OK they're filed in the WIP section  ...

the Work In Progress section ... that's another story.

Pip over at Hello! It's Meet me at Mikes has posted on 'How are we not Perfect' here ...

She rang a few bells so here's my rendition ...

  • I love being 39 with a lot of late nights ...
  • I love being with my girls now we're four generations ...
  • I love to make something out of nothing - sewing from old clothes or old linen, from the pantry or the fridge ...
  • I consider myself blessed ...
  • I see the funny side of almost everything ...
  • I spend too much time reading blogs ...
  • I too love "The Real New York Housewives of NYC' plus 'Project Runway' and 'Damages' ...
  • I too have never had a facial, mani or pedi ...

... what about you ~ how are you not perfect ~ if there is such a thing ???
