The new life of an old Parisian workshop

This 200-square-meter, three-level loft is located in the Bastille quarter of Paris. Renovated with a great respect to its original building and its former workshop spirit, the loft has a trendy industrial vibe with lots of light throughout. I personally have a special crush on the authentic brick wall and the splashes of bright colors.

Monday color mix : Neon

It's been a while since my last mix, and what better theme to start a bright new week than a good dose of [super trendy] neon... I don't use neon in my home a lot but in small touches, this can be a pretty fun statement, and the "dipped" neon paint effect shown on some pics below is really growing on me...

Trend Alert : Paint outside the box!

Loving this original trend spotted on many interiors lately... Paint outside the box! In other words, create unexpected borders, ombres {shades}, and effects with paint color, add lines where no-one sees lines... No more conformist rules about painting. Here are a few interiors that celebrate with audacity this trend... Fun, fun I tell you!

Imitate the sunlight rays with the use of a lighter paint color

Why stop at the window or the ceiling, keep going!

Invent new lines and shapes, be audacious!

Build a focal point and delimitate two spaces

Not a passage anymore, a "Grand" passage now...

Product Crush : Pantone by Serax

Major crush on the Pantone plant pots and tableware collection. I had seen the mugs, the Christmas ornaments or i-device cases, but I discovered the Serax for Pantone line at Maison & Objet last january. Can't wait to add some of these colorful plant pots {think basil, parsley, cilantro, or lavender... rosemary!} on my patio or on the summer dinner table {hello sexy salads!}. Definitely on my shopping wish list!

Dar Kawa

Well, it's that time of the year... when the excitement of winter with its cosy wool sweaters and nice leather boots is all gone, your skin is dry, your toes are bluish because they haven't seen the sunlight for so long... I long for spring so bad... Don't you? To top it off, I keep coming across pictures of sunny paradisiac spots. Like this one spotted on the latest edition of Cote Sud : Dar Kawa in Marrakech, Morocco. Arhh... take me there... What's not to love about this place. Really.
Redesigned by Valerie Barkowski with the help of architect Quentin Wilbaux, Dar Kawa's style is all about simplicity and authenticity - and extra bonus, it's located in Morocco, a place I call home... Blissful, truly...

A light-filled Barcelona flat

Oh, what a beautiful space. This spacious and light filled loft spotted on Habitania Magazine is the home of Barbara, an Italian architect living in Barcelona, Spain. I am in love with the original antique window shutters, and love how Barbara mixed some flea market finds [did you see the wooden letterpress drawers as wall artwork pieces?], classic design pieces and Ikea furniture to give her space a true personality.
