*MERRY CHRISTMAS.....

Card Opened

Watercooler Wednesday's latest challenge...is Gail's Christmas Card challenge...how exciting. Thought I would give this *new to me* card fold a shot..not sure what it's called and sadly I can't find the original designer :( I'm not much for colouring except for Christmas cards...which I find rather relaxing..dusted off the vintage stamps and tried to colour within the lines. The snowflakes from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set are embossed with white embossing powder on Real Red cardstock, and the sentiment is stamped with Old Olive. Start with a 51/2" by 12" piece of cardstock...scorelines and a couple cuts later..Voila!

Deets: All Stampin Up except for stamped images and pattern papers.

Thanks for dropping by.

Wacky Watercooler May Blog Hop ~ The Survivor List...

...It's the time of the year that I dread in the Stampin Up World as we change over to a new catalog...While I am excited about seeing the new products and line up ...I am also sad to see some of my fave stamps and tools on the retired list...to disappear into the horizon. So I put my big girl panties on and decided to celebrate the ONES that made it...SURVIVED for another year and made it into the new catty....phew! So this Wacky Watercooler Blog Hop showcases and celebrates the products that made it ....

This is a circular blog hop..so no matter where you start..you will eventually end up going full circle as you check out all the blogs..So you may have arrived from  Marie Green's great projects and can check out my projects and than head on over to Marsha Reed's wonderful inspiration.

My bestie lent me her *Jar of Love set and I am totally sold and it's on my wish/want/need list now..such an enabler she is! ;) Wanted to try the shadow box card from the Splitcoast Stampers' tutorials...modified my card slightly by wrapping the box with a strip of dsp around the sides to reinforce the shape. Added a *Lots of Label frame to the front window and next time, I would add an acetate window...as the glue had already set when I thought about the acetate window..The cover wraps from the front to the back; however I glued the back page to the back of the box for more stability... Left the card without a sentiment as I couldn't decide whether this would be a Birthday card or a Thinking of You card so I will add the banner across the front of the window, when I decide!

Card inside ~ Shadow Box...

An attempt at an acetate tent card...and of course..the Jar of Love stamp set...with the blushing bride glimmer and vellum butterfly....Lots of stamping and diecutting happened here...Colours: Tip Top Taupe, *Rich Razzleberry, *Sweet Sugarplum, *Crushed Curry. The sentiment is from the NEW *Eastern Beauty stamp set...lots of pearls..Voila!

Close up of the details

My *for YOU* project ~ showcasing the...*Jar of Love, *Birthday Blooms..and the *Hardwood background stamp...tried the new to me Z-fold card...stamped a gazillion blossoms..die cut the jars from the incolours dsp...(inspiration from the blogging world out there..or it might have been google images)...added some gold baker's twine...and finished with some pearls..Voila!

With Love to Moms...Honourable Mention

Well Watercooler Wednesday's challenge is an ode to Moms for the upcoming Mother's Day. I've been wanting to try the pleated paper fold on a card and finally bit the bullet...tossed in Just Add Ink's floral image and colour combo from their challenge inspiration picture: Sweet Sugarplum, Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry, and Garden Green. Stamped the roses from one of my fave sets ~ Stippled Blossoms...dry embossed the Sweet Sugarplum layer with the Elegant Dots embossing folder. Added my fave butterfly from the soon to be retired Papillion Potpourri. Stamped the Sentiment from the Oh So Succulents with Rich Razzleberry and layered with the Sweet Sugarplum punched label. Finished the card with some teeny pearls and a strip of silver glimmer paper. Voila!!!

Happy Mothers Day to ALL the Moms out there, especially my Mom and Grandma!xoxo
