Needed: House Paint and Sundries
Update on the shelter:
Pretty Bird Woman House has been EXTREMELY busy since it opened for business officially about a month ago. It runs at 100% capacity!
Another good thing that's happened has created a need for PAINT:
the Fellowship church had a bunch of young people volunteer for a week this summer. Georgia Little Shield, the shelter's director, told them that the house needed a new coat of paint, so that's what they're going to do. This means that they will need the paint itself.
Georgia asked me to get the word out that they need about 15 - 20 gallons of outdoor, oil-based house paint. Instead of trying to deal with gift cards or somehow sending gallons of paint, I started another ChipIn today (however, if you have access to 15-20 gallons of free paint or painting supplies, we'd sure like to know about it!). If you've got any painting supplies lying around the house that you'd like to donate, we'd really appreciate that too.
This kids are coming July 8th - 11th, 2008.
Just to remind you, this is what the whole house looks like.
Looks much better at a distance, doesn't it!
Other supplies also needed
Since the shelter is so busy, it is going through the following supplies especially quickly:
shampoo and conditioner
baby shampoo and wash
(especially) diapers
If anyone can contact their local Wal-mart, KMart or Target for donations that would be great.
Thanks to everyone out there in the blogosphere for your continuing support.
P.S. EVERY contribution matters, no matter how small. If you only have $5 to donate for house paint, we will be grateful for that too!
