TINY DANCER

Hello Friends! I hope everyone enjoyed the Easter Season!
I wanted to share with you, this adorable photo of my niece Christy taken in 1976.
I have been scanning photos into Photoshop lately and when I came across this one I knew at once I had to scrap it!

The papers used are from K&Co Brenda Walton Flora. I have had them for some time, but love using some time proven products!
I stamped the background paper with  Bo Bunny Distress Stamps and doodled around the edges.
The circle doilies were cut using the new Martha Stewart Circle Edge paper punch. (LOVE IT)
I fussy cut the photo and popped it up with foamies to give it some dimension. I then inked the edges to define it a bit more!

The banner was made with Sizzix Framelits Banner die. I used 2 sizes. The base layer is scored at the top and folded over to give some depth for the mini clip to hold on to. The mini paper clips are Tim Holtz Ideaolgy.
The lettering is older stickers that I have inked and adhered using foam adhesives for dimension.
The little ballet slipper is made by Jolees Boutique. I thought it worked perfectly!

You know I love to layer flowers and this was no different! I layered them using various punches and dies, then inked the edges with Adirondack Citrus, Purple Twilight and Distress Worn Lipstick. The leaves are from a Martha Stewart Rose Leaf punch. Again I inked all edges and added some leaf veins.
I will be doing a flower Tutorial on this flower soon :)

The final touch was this pretty little chip bird cage that I have had for a few years. I am not certain who makes it.. but I would love to have more! I inked it with Distress Shabby Shutters and added a flower.  I wrapped some wire around a stick pen and stretched it out along the bottom, to give it a metal feel.
I really enjoyed doing this layout! The colors were fun to work with and the photo brings joy to my heart!
Thanks Friends for stopping for a visit! It is much appreciated!

FREE TO BE...

Hi Folks! It has been way too long since I have scrapped. I have still been visiting blogs & galleries-just not scrapping. I think that is past & now have a renewed energy for it! I had to take a little break, however now I am happy to be back at it!
The inspiration for this layout is a photo of my son, Nick & daughter in law Stephanie taken in Maui. They work work work & have found that their place to refresh is Hawaii! They go every so often and just love the peace that Maui has to offer.
I used the Basic Grey Kioshi line of papers... the colors were perfect!

A Sizzix flourish was used to cut the flourishes. I still have my hand cranked Sizzix & no electronic cutting machine. I guess I am living in the Ice Age!!!

I made flowers using various dies & punches , inking the edges &  adding a drop of Scribbles for the centers. I also dotted the flourishes with the Scribbles.

Lastly, I stamped around the edges with Inkadinkado (whew I always type that wrong ) chandelier stamps-using the chain portion! It was just what I needed!

Thanks so much friends for visiting & hanging with me in my absence!

DREAMY

Hi Friends! Well we almost have made it through the winter! I imagine everyone is ready for spring time!
The inspiration for my layout is my sweet niece Anna, & her dreamy ways!  At  family get together you always find Anna with her animal friends! If it is furry & has a tail she is usually off in some world with it! Anna is quiet & calming along with her fur babies... in their own dreamy world!
From my stash I  used Prima papers from the Strawberry Kisses Collection.. they were soft & spring-like! So I felt they were perfect!
Lots of hand made flowers here! It took me 6 hours to make just the flowers!! I found it very therapeutic! I made the flowers using various punches & dies. The leaf portion was a Martha Stewart rose leaf punch. I inked all layers of the flowers with Distress Walnut Stain & Worn Lipstick, the leaf is inked with Peeled Paint.
The large lettering is about a 5 year old purchase from an Archiver's $1 bin. I have not been in an Archiver's in several years, so I do not even know if they still have $1 bins! I added some ink & a bit of Petal Pink Liquid Pearls.
The little droplets was made using beads & some awesome wire that I got at Joann's online. The product name is "FunWire" & is a translucent covered wire in various colors! I just added the beads, wrapped it around a lollipop stick, stretched it & attached!
Lastly, I added some corner flourishes made with a Bosskut die & added a beaded stick pen so it sorta looks like a butterfly!
This was a fun layout to do! I was off in my own dreamy world thinking of spring!
Thanks so much for dropping by!  You guys are the best!

WISHES

Hello Friends! I am so happy that you stopped by! The inspiration for my layout was this cutey photo of my son in 1989 on his 8th birthday! Nick always would tell me he was going to make "WISHES" when he blew out his candles! Not just a WISH... but WISHES! So when I ran across this photo his closed eyes & little puffed up cheeks brought a smile to my face as I know he was making "WISHES"!

I used the yummy Creative Imaginations LooLah papers. I thought they were perfect for the picture! They also had a sticker that was great for those little details! I made the scalloped dies cut & will be posting a "how to" in a day or so.

All edges were inked with 3 colors of Distress Ink- Faded Denim, Peeled Paint & Worn Lipstick. The little flowers are  K &Co... I wrapped wire around a little lollipop stem & attached the wire on back of flowers to make them a little "springy". They are much more dimensional than they are showing up in the photo.
The lettering is round sticker letter on punched circle card stock with a little retro flower attached to the back. I raised them with round chip to give the bottom of the layout some interest. The little lady bugs are Jolee's Boutique.
I really enjoyed this layout! I think I was smiling the whole time! Nick just turned 31, but it seems like just yesterday I was taking this photo of him in his Care Bear jammies making Wishes!!
Thanks so much for stopping by! You guys are the best :)

TIME SPINS AWAY

Hello Friends! Well I finally finished this layout! I started it in summer of 2011& became so stuck that I had to set it aside ...for what seemed like forever. But better late than never as they say.
The inspiration for the layout was a photo of my husband taken in late 50's. We have less than 10 photos of my husband from childhood through his teens- so the ones we have are very precious to me! It may be a bit grainy... but I still love it!  I seen the spinning top & my mind started thinking...Time Spins Away! And that is so true!
I wanted to use yummy retro look papers. This is a combo of Pink Paislee & Girls Paperie Vintage Travel papers.

I inked & matted the photo yo make the pic pop off the papers by using a black matt. I really wanted to convey somewhat of a spinning feel.. so I did the letters in the round. They are Tim Holtz grungeboard letters inked with black alcohol ink. After I placed the lettering , I stitched the inner circle, then adhered the lettering.  The corner deco is chip from the Starry Night collection by Rusty Pickle. ( I miss Rusty Pickle.. I always loved their items) It was inked & stickled with  Black Diamond Stickles.

The clock is made by Jolee's Boutique & was mounted on Grungeboard wings to convey time flying. They were inked with black alcohol ink & stickled with the Black Diamond. I then added it to a Bo Bunny Flower Child chip flower, & inked it with Distress Aged Mahogany & Black Soot.

Again, I used Bo Bunny Flower Child chip board to add some interest to the other side! I scattered some stars about the whole layout to give some detail to those empty areas.

I really had a good time with this layout. When I started many months ago I was completely uninspired... then poof ... I knew what I wanted to do & it felt great!
Thanks so much for visiting & taking a peek at my blog! I appreciate it so very much :)

I LOVE REMEMBERING...

Hi Friends!
YEAH I scrapped! It sure felt good! Not too sure if I am happy with the results...but had fun doing it so... such is life!

The inspiration for my layout is a pic of my Dad taken in the early 80's. He loved the ocean even though he lived in the landlocked Midwest! He fell in love with it during World War 2 while serving in the navy. I think it gave him some calm & peace during such turbulent times. We lost my Dad in  1989. I miss him all the time & love remembering....

I used the Little Yellow Bicycle Vita Bella papers. They are several years old, but  I love that collection! All edges were inked with Distress Ink : Aged Mahogany, Shabby Shutters & Broken China. The foil framing is cut strips ,also from the Vita Bella collection.
The little tags are Reminisce "By the Sea" die cut stickers.

I had a lot of fun making the net & waves. The waves are felt strips from Queen & Company & were originally white. I inked them with a  metallic rub that i purchased on Joann.com (It is made by a company called Craft-T). I used the copper rub & highlighted it with Broken China Distress ink.

The Netting was a produce bag & I will be posting a tutorial on how I made it... super easy. I should have that up later today or tomorrow!

The pretty natural looking flowers are Prima Parlor Petals Verne. I thought they looked great with the pretty shades of blues & greens in the papers!  the lettering is My Minds Eye So Sophie card stock letters. I inked them real good in order to have them blend a bit more!

The die cut greenery what made by using a Quickutz Branch & Berries die, cut with my good old hand cranked Big Shot. I thought they looked a little "sea weedy".  The shells & branches were dotted with gold Liquid Pearls.
I am making a real attempt to use up existing supplies!  I seem to have hoarded quite a bit...Now to use it!!
Thanks so much for stopping by & sharing my layout with me!  :)

SUMMER IS FUN!

Hello Friends! I hope this finds everyone doing well!
The inspiration for this layout is the wonderful  photo of my nephew Joseph with  his awesome smile & summer shirt! It has been quite dreary spring in the Midwest so far this year so I thought a dose of summer fun would be the ticket! To me summer is- baseball, flipflops, BBQ & summer shirts!!
I used the awesome Rusted Sun papers made by Fancy Pants & my favorite Bazzil cardstock.

I inked the background paper with Distress Aged Mahogany & Mustard Seed. I then punched sunburts from a punch made by "Punch Bunch" that I purchased at local scrapbook store. I cut them in half, inked the edges & adhered them to the background paper as a border trim!
The banner was made with Bazzil cardstock, & trimmed with yellow cut with my good old deco edge scissors! I added little die cut flowers & buttons for some detail. The banner lettering is Heidi Swapp- originally pink , painted with craft paint & Stickles!

The awesome flourish is from my sweet friend Lucy at SB.com. It is made by her company Flourish with a Bling. I thought it worked beautifully with the summery theme!
I made a fun flower with my new Lifestyle die "Spray" die & my good old Sizzix Big Shot.
I added the large chipboard lettering from Basic Grey's  Margie line. It was painted with craft paint & Stickles!! Finally I added the teeny letters to journal what summer fun is!
Well after days & days of rain, tornadoes, & severe storms, this layout was a pure fun to work on!  Here's to baseball, flipflops, BBQ & summer shirts!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Honor the Past

Hello Friends!! I have been so busy the past year that my blog posting & scrapbooking has suffered! Well I think I am at a place to dedicate more time to it now. It felt so good to scrap this layout that I did not want to finish it... I could have worked on it for days!
The inspiration for this layout is the fantastic photo of my Grandpa & Grandma taken in the 1920's.  I love heritage photos, they make wonder about where they were at in their lives at the time the photo was taken!  We should all honor the past as it makes us what we are today!
I used yummy papers from the The Girls Paperie . They are so soft & dreamy, i felt they were perfect for the photo. The script paper is from 7Gypsies.
I cut 2 die cut shields & layered them on black cardstock & added a circle in the center to hold the photo. I inked all edges with 3 Distress inks- Scattered Straw, Worn Lipstick & Broken China.
The title work is Heidi Swap & was originally pink! I paintedthe letters with black craft paint! The "family" chip is Teresa Collins with plenty of ink!
Simple layered flowers were punched from Martha Stewart punches. Again I inked all layers with the 3 inks to bring in the colors from the die cut shields. I scattered them about the flourishes that were cut with a Sizzix Tim Holtz die.
I punched a GAZILLION small flowers from the pink &white paper, then  inked them with Distress Worn Lipstick, Scattered Straw & Broken China. I dotted the centers with Raspberry & Gold Liquid Pearls & Black fabric paint. I then adhered them around the die cut shield! It took some time... but I was having so much time doing it that it really did not matter!
Thanks so much for stopping by! I appreciate it very much! I feel so lucky to have such great scrappy friends!
See ya soon!

Innocence

Hello Friends!! So nice to have you visiting!  I want to thank everyone for your kindness regarding my mom & her passing...it means so much to me!  It felt great to scrap again... I almost forgot how, but it soon came flooding back!!
The inspiration for this layout was an awesome photo of my sister in 1968 with her little one! I really wanted to capture the innocence that was reflected in her face & my sweet nephews smile! Both so young & naive! I am in the process of using up my stash of supplies & have cancelled kit clubs until I manage to make a huge dent in my stash! ( So hard to to cancel.. but really needed to clear out some stuff! ) This was done using the remainder of the March 2009 LE kit from My Creative Scrapbook that featured the Bella Bella papers from My Minds Eye. They are some of my all time fav papers!!!
I doubled matted the photo & added a touch of ribbon & punched paper for some interest. The chip trees were purchased last year at the St. Louis CKC convention- I am uncertain who made them. I inked them with Ranger black alcohol ink & added little flowers punched with a EK Success punch with a pearl center. All flowers are inked with Ranger Distress ink... Broken  China, Worn Lipstick & Frayed Burlap.

The title work is Basic Grey Wilma raw chip also painted with the Ranger alcohol ink. I added a border of flowers & leafs to sorta frame the layout.
I laced the ribbon around the inner square portion of layout.  Then adhered pearls on the spots where the lacing was done. I used an ruler called a CTHRU Ruler made by Dejaviews to mark the spots for lacing!
A little Martha Stewart bird in flight filled that empty spot!!
Finally, one little layered flower in the photo corner for luck!!  I wanted to reflect innocence plus the change of seasons from late winter to very early spring. I hope I achieved that!!
Thanks again friends! I have missed everyone.  Big Hugs!!
Lynn :D
