Mark Lanegan - Ode to Sad Disco

Ode To Sad Disco by Mark Lanegan Band on Grooveshark

This song is off of Mark Lanegan's new record Blues Funeral. This is the most modern music Lanegan has made. Some of it is almost danceable.

Eleven - Flow Like A River

The late Natasha Shneider is best known as the keyboardist for Queens of the Stone Age.

Bonus: the Gutter Twins cover of this song is amazing. I haven't heard Mark Lanegan's voice this rawked out since his Screaming Trees days.

Mark Lanegan Interview

It is funny listening to this poor British music journalist attempt to interview Mark Lanegan. It isn't that Lanegan is trying to be rude. Lanegan is just not the most gabby person in the world.

Shotgun Blues - Isobel Campbell, Mark Lanegan

The Flame That Burns - Isobel Campbell, Mark Lanegan

Mark Lanegan should forget the Gutter Twins and work more Isobel Campbell. Their voices work amazingly well together. Their is a sweet and sour aspect to their harmonies.

Deep Hit Of Morning Sun (Primal Scream Cover) - The Gutter Twins

Hard Sun (Album Version) - Eddie Vedder & Corin Tucker

Thanks to Sine.Qua.Non for dedicating the Vedder song to me. Am I the only one that thinks it is time for Vedder to become a solo artist?

Mark Lanegan - El Sol

El Sol (Album) - Mark Lanegan

Mark Lanegan is one of my all-time favorite singers. This song moves me in a spiritual way.

Longtime PR readers will remember Litbrit's brave dog Winston. Sadly, Winston passed away recently. This song goes out in memory of mighthy Tornello family guard dog.

Music Goodies

Monday - Wilco

Monday, I'm all high, get me out of TLA
I cut class, in school, yeah
Now I know I made a mistake
I made a big mistake

Monday by Wilco is the perfect song to start the work week.

This is a video of the Screaming Trees at the Roskilde Festival. Mark Lanegan goes batshit insane and throws microphone stands into the crowd. Roadies attempt to stop Lanegan from destroying more gear. Lanegan challenges roadies to fight. Hilarity ensues.

Gutter Twins At the Bowery Ballroom in New York City

I have been waiting a long time for the Gutter Twins project. I was afraid the Twins record would suffer the same fate as My Bloody Valentine's album. We would always hear about it and it would never be released.

Here are the Gutter Twins performing Idle Hands, Papillon and The Stations.

Idle Hands

Papillon

The Stations

I remember reading a Greg Dulli interview and he said Lanegan was going to sing Afghan Whigs songs and he would sing Screaming Trees tunes. Does anyone know if they are doing that on this tour?

New Gutter Twins Song

The Gutter Twins are Greg Dulli and Mark Lanegan. Both singers were part of Sub Pop's classic grunge era roster. Dulli was the leader of the Afghan Whigs. Lanegan was the lead vocalist of the Screaming Trees. Dulli formed the Twilight Singers as a side project from the Whigs. The Twilight Singers became Dulli's main musical outlet after the Whigs broke up. Lanegan has sung with Queens of the Stone Age, Martina Topley-Bird, Soulsavers and Isobel Campbell.

The Gutter Twins record has been several years in the making. The main delay was Dulli and Lanegan never had time from their other projects to record. The album Saturnalia was nearly five years in the making The first song Idle Hands is on the Gutter Twins Myspace site.
