I've been sucked in...

I've always thought Crocs are, well, pretty ugly. And I have sworn up and down that I personally wouldn't be caught dead in them. Then... I was on their website trying for the zillionth time to order the Mary Janes for Makenna and saw the Alice Shoe and decided I could see myself in these. I ordered them at the same time I ordered Makenna the Alice Kids (because after all, as ugly as crocs are, they are truly the best invention ever in kids' shoes). Both pair came in the mail this week and I must admit that I've been sucked in. Now, I have my eye on the Celeste Canvas for me (in red and pink) and the Batman Cayman for Carter. Just as a warning, the shipping from Crocs.com is outrageous. I'm hoping I can find these locally so I don't have to order online again. (sorry I can't post pictures from the Crocs website, you'll have to peek). My mom will be so proud. Crocs are a proud Colorado company and she has been trying to get me over to the dark side for a long time.

As an aside, am I the only 30 something woman out there that has trouble with fall/winter footwear?! What are you all wearing on your feet these days? Stacy and Clinton insist that if you're over 30, chunky footwear is a big no -no. I'm not a big fan of the ballet flat look, though it is very slowly growing on me. Boots are are little ridiculous in my current climate, these have been my staple in past winters in colder climates. So ladies, weigh in here. Whatcha wearing?

Monique, I must say that I never saw myself in ballet flats either, but I bought some and find myself wearing them INSTEAD of my flip flops! I still can not convince myself to by Crocs for the kids, don't know why. Oh, and I'm glad M. is in a big girl bed. Just wait until she gets used to it, then it's a whole different story.

I personally love the ballet flats. I destroyed my feet wearing high heels to work everyday when I was pregnant with Eva (yes, very stupid), and flats are great for hurting arches. They don't help my height problem, though. Love my boots. Sorry, guess I'm not much help. Although, I did find these maryjanes at a consignment store that I LOVE. www.thenaturalshoestore.com They're expensive if you don't buy them at a consignment store, but they are cute and SO comfy! I wear mine everyday in the fall.

I have to say that I'm shocked that you bought yourself crocs, although I've never seen crocs like the ones your purchased. I too am having footwear trouble. I was thinking the exact same thing today and wore boots.

My neighbor who is very cute and hip just gave me 2 pairs of 7 jeans, when I went up to her closet to get them I saw all her cute heels! She says that she wears them all the time b/c she's sick of getting all her clothes hemmed. Well I kind of have a problem w/ my husband's height! I don't want to be taller than him! I personally love boots and then slippers when I'm home!

Monique - I wouldn't let Clint and Stacey stop you! I was at my SILs this weekend reading her Vouge and Glamour, and it seems, a weightier shoe like this is all the rage for Fall, especially with wide leg trousers

And I am a boot girl, but I also like Sketchers Mary Janes and mules from anywhere.

My preggo friend Laura has been wearing the Alice Crocs all summer, and looks adorable in them! I love the Batman ones you posted!

I love crocs for my kids. They can put them on themselves, they can wear them through mud, water, sand, etc., and best of all you can throw them in the dishwasher when they get dirty. OH yeah, and they don't stink when they get sweaty. That's more than enough reasons to love them in my book. For me, I didn't even know all those cute options existed. As for what I wear, I love Keen shoes. (they are also great for your feet.) Love the blog---JJ

I have a couple pairs of slip on leather shoes shaped kind of like mules. They are a soft brushed leather. They are VERY comfortable and since I have them in brown and black they go with everything. They are kind of like a casual clog. I love watching Stacy and Clinton and I see SO many people that could use their help. (I am not the perfect fashion follower, but I try to pick up tips)
