What Do you Do in the Summertime?

At the beginning of the summer we sat down and made a summer To Do list with the kids. I know there are lots of fancy schmancy printable lists out there but we just used a Sharpie and a piece of paper that we taped to the refrigerator door. Since we are approximately half-way through the summer here, I want to recap how we're doing on our list. We chose things unique to Seattle and love, love, love that there is so much to see and do here

Our List:

Visiting the Ballard Locks & Salmon Run. The Locks is where boats can travel from the Lake Washington into the Puget Sound. It is amazing to see the way they use the water to bring boats back and forth. There is also a place to see the salmon swimming up stream to lay their eggs and beautiful botanic gardens.

Picking blueberries at one of the many farms in the area:

Attending a Seattle Mariners game. We went on LDS night at the Mariners with my sister and her two little girls (older kids in UT at EFY) and had a blast. The kids made it on the Jumbo-tron twice and loved watching the game:

 Visit KidsQuest Children's Museum:

Have lunch with Dad at work:

Go see "Brave":

Make homemade icecream (Nutella and fresh raspberry)

Swim at the Lake. We have done this lots of times and love it. Pretty much anytime the sun comes out we pack up and head to the lake to play:

Rock climbing at the Gym:
Makenna half way up the wall
Carter coming down from the top:

Dates with Mom and Dad:
Makenna chose to go to the American Girl cafe for lunch for our date . We had a great time chatting and enjoying yummy food.

We still have lots of things on our list to check off and we're having so much fun picking things to do every week. We've obviously done lots of other things this summer that aren't included on the list like swimming at the pool, going to the park, day camps, playing with cousins, and lots of playing outside. We love summer! I'll share again at the end of the summer and see how close we get to completing our list!

So much fun Monique! I love the list and the progress. It would be so much fun to explore a new area - there is so much to do there. I've wondered how your summer has been going, but I would say great thus far!

Fun bucket list. I'm impressed with all you've accomplished, especially when you have had such a busy summer! Your pictures are so great. Love the lake shots, and cute little Emery. How fun to live in an area with so many fun things to do!

What a plethora of fun things to do and places to see!

I hope Carter, Makenna, Addie and Emery know how lucky they are.

A great and creative mother they have.

I'm glad you're having fun at the lake etc. in your "new home town" where there's so much to see and do. Can't wait to see you all up there. You're awesome, Monique! Love, Mom Frost
