lost and found

I am so happy, finding "The Lost Quilter", the newest book in the Elm Creek series at the public library! The first 12 is sitting in my bookshelves. And the bag I made did a good job carrying a heavy weight, 5 nice and thick volumes. So, all I need is a cup of tea and some hours of easy reading.

Wish you all a nice weekend with time to enjoy your favorite activities.

new bags

Some time a go I found a nice, big purple linen tablecloth at a flee marked. Now it is turned into this bag. I folded the fabric and quilted away... The bag is double layered with 6 layers in the bottom. Added some pockets in the same way, and also found a use for these pretty cotton /linen fish. It is soft with a bit of body. My machine was not happy with the thickest layers, but working a bit slower helps.

This next one is also quilted. Love this classic Marimekko fabric, it comes in many pretty color ways. This was not a canvas, so i layered it with 3 layers of batting and a white cotton lining and did a lot of straight line quilting. This one has one big pocket, divided in 2 for cell phone and wallet. The design is my own and have been used in a few bags already.
Love how crisp and clean those pretty flowers look!

twin bags

still a bit of snow today ...
I used Denyse Schmidt's Country Fair "cheathercloth" from Pink Chalk Studio to make these two bags. I added 100% pure linen, cotton fabric for lining. They are quilted, and have two good pockets inside, one of them perfect for a cell phone.
I might give them away as gifts. I might keep them for myself. Hmmmm.
