The Roy Dog, a Portland tail ....

Have you heard about The Roy Dog? If not I am sure you are about to have a bit of a Google! Legend tells of a black dog who lives in a cave ...

He has one eye that glows red and one that glows green, but I’ve omitted the eyes that dangle in his shaggy mane, those of his victims!
After all, this is a birthday gift for a young lass. She requested not to have all those!

Roy dog has a vintage nose, plundered from my sewing chest. It looks nice and glossy in the evening sun on Portland.

In Tout Quarry my plush version met the Portland stone version who’s been there for quite some time.

He’s now waiting for socially distanced collection, in my gallery.

I’ll miss him as he’s quite a character, much more than the real Roy-dog I suspect. I had fun deciding just how much of him to make shaggy to balance out that lovely mane, and I think he’s turned out quite well, with some needled sculpting of the face and paws. I’m looking forward to an unboxing, maybe on TikTok if I’m lucky!

The one where The Raggy Rat became Queen!!!

So there she stood, creatively dressed as a busy, creative Mum-of-four...

Why are you wearing that?, says Carl from Wessex FM. All that's missing is a chicken under my arm!

For evening dress I eventual decided against pyjamas. I bought a very simple swingy dress and took it in a little, to fit. Ever practical!

There was entertainment and the Pavilion was so beautifully done up. Like a wedding!

Judges scribbled their choices without conferring. Excitement was building!

And I was happy to win Miss Charity! Esp since we get to support Julia's House!

This is me utterly shocked ... I actually won Miss Carnival Queen 2015!!! And even better I'm listening to some amazing cheers from a certain table!!

Didn't we do well? I'll see you at the carnival!

Thanks to Frances Underwood Photography for letting me share these pics with you XXX

School fish - didn't they do well?

I worked with reception and year two children, so that I could help out in all of my girls classes!

Mary had a lot of fun looking for purple flowers for her fish. Some of the reception children finished inside the hour we had together, and very quickly chose a favourite colour ...

I love the eye on this fish!

Daisy worked with blocks of strong colour. Some children really didn't want to be restricted to one colour.

These are going to look great swimming all over the carnival float!

Big Cats in Weymouth - Spirit of the Sea 2011 ...

The tiger returned to Weymouth yet again, and this time THE CAT was ready for him!

It was certainly a lovely day for a Harbour-side festival!

Until some one pointed out all that water, to the Cat! YIKES!

Most of the public were very taken with our furry visitors, and the felines must have posted for hundreds of photographs!

And there was time for a few lovely Cat-cuddles too!

What did you do at the weekend? XXX

New by-pass opens in Weymouth - Traffic cones out of work !

This week the new road in Weymouth opened up ... I don't have any idea how to leave town now! And thousands of traffic cones who had been employed in Weymouth and Littlemoor are now without work ...

Some are out and about, looking to start something - or stop something, rather ... even the suburbs are affected!

Meet my plush traffic cone at Best of Dorset this Sunday - look for the Artwey gang!

The Fairy Cake Mother...

Imagine my delight when my neighbour knocked on my door and offered me and my family these cakes ...

They looked pretty, they sparkled with edible glitter, and they tasted really good too!

and you can get some too, everyone needs the magic of The Fairy Cake Mother, don't you think?

Daisy feeds the alpaca, but very carefully ...

it is nice to share the experience ...

or slide down with a friend ...

as fast as you can, even if you want to keep your back pack on for comfort!
