The 7 Final Videos Of The Demolition Of Yankee Stadium, Red Sox Nation & One Of The Demolition Of Shea Stadium Will Go On This Site
The Video Series begins with Shea Stadium the day before the ramps came down. It's when what is left of the stands were pulled down;
Then it's a Video of The Stadium II disappearing in its' upper reaches, followed by Gate Two, then about an athletic field in the rear of the old Stadium, & the new Stadium III;
Then onto Red Sox Nation-NY's HQ at Professor Thom's & the the Thank You's to various people;
There's a certain amount of Classical Music including Gregorian Chant in the videos, as well as a touch of Celtic Punk Rock & 1 TV Theme at the end;
I think you'll like it;

Stadium Mini-Documentaries
Editing software will be iMovie on Mac, as well as another editor to give these films a more professional look to them. Certain Special Effects will be added.
These films, in my opinion, do not belong on YouTube. A woman, whose judgement I trust in all things of an Artistic Nature, Amanda Cole, has inspired this tribute/commentary on the end of both Shea & Yankee Stadiums. Hence there will be no YouTube for these retrospective films.
Mind you, a cell phone video camera was used, but the two stadia tribute/documentary will look better than sheer amateur video. Think of it as disposable video on Vimeo and a Mini Documentary on BlipTV, as well as a podcast on iTunes. It is worth a shot. And it will get that professional look on a Mac with all that good video software, as well as background music from GarageBand.

Mets Fans & Shea Stadium
They actually took more of a part in mourning the loss of Shea Stadium. In fact they took more of a part of mourning the loss of Shea Stadium than the Yankees Fans took in mourning the loss of the prior Yankee Stadium.
You see, Shea Stadium was the site of Joys and Sorrows. Plus, Shea actually housed more enthusiastic fans. Shea was a place where Red Sox Nation could sit in exile and was less expensive to go to than Yankee Stadium. The real fans are actually more appreciative of their team than Yankees Fans could ever be. Shea was laid back.
Shea Stadium is missed & the fans there were real as they were both entertained and were entertaining. Anybody wearing a 13 A-Rod Jersey was serenaded. Red Sox Nation even learned a few chants from Mets Fans, mostly in connection with A-Rod.
Shea was The Real Deal.
And Shea is gone.

Mets Fans With The Deconstruction Of Shea Stadium-A Look At Fans Who Did Something Rare & Daring
It was in January, 2009 when two Mets Fans went inside of a Partially Demolished Shea Stadium & shot this video:
Mets Fans often gathered in The Citi Field Parking Lot, shot videos & photos, Sang songs, laughed & cried. To them, Shea Stadium was home;
Granted, the bases, home plate & the Pitchers Mound are marked in the Citi Field Parking Lot;
Mets Fans gathered every day while Shea Stadium was being dismantled;
Hence, watch the video. I wonder if there will be someone who shot videos from inside of Yankee Stadium II?

With Baseball On The Cusp
The site under demolition is actually the Prior Yankee Stadium, known as Yankee Stadium II. WHY do I call it Yankee Stadium II? WHERE did the Yankees play in 1974 & 1975? In reality, there was no continuous Yankee Stadium from 1923 to 2008. The 1st Yankee Stadium only existed from April, 1923 until September 30th, 1973. Then Yankee Stadium II opened in April, 1976 & actually closed in February, 2009 when the Team Offices moved across the street into Yankee Stadium III. But the last ever Yankee Stadium II Game was in September, 2008;
The Drama Queens at ESPN televised the last ever game from Yankee Stadium II. While it was NOT the same stadium as the one which opened in 1923, Media Types treated it as one continuous site, despite the fact that two different stadiums operated at West 161st Street & River Avenue;
In fact, Shea Stadium operated continuously from April of 1964 until the end of September of 2008, seeing more use(& in the case of 1975, serving as home field for The Mets, Yankees, NY Jets & NY Giants) in its' time than Yankee Stadium II ever did. Except for NY Cosmos North American Soccer League Regular Season Games in 1976 & Three NY Jets Exhibition Games(1 With The NY Giants who once called Yankee Stadium I Home). Yankee Stadium II did serve as a House of Worship, as the Site of Two Papal Masses(1979 & 2008) as well as for a gathering of Religious Leaders in regards to mourning those who perished at the World Trade Center on 09/11/01. But Yankee Stadium II was noted for being a Baseball Home almost exclusively, whereas Shea Stadium saw action with The Mets from Start to finish, The Yankees in 1974 & 1975 as well as for 1 Home Game in 1998(Jeter was in the 1998 Home Game of an Historic Day Night Two League Doubleheader, played in the same stadium, with one game including the Designated Hitter & One Game without the DH), The NY J-E-T-S, Jets from September 1964 until December of 1983 & the NY Giants from October, 1975 until December of 1975. The NY Cosmos North American Soccer League Playoff Game with Washington was played before 25K at Shea Stadium in August, 1976. The American Soccer League NY United(Apollos) played their 1980 Season at Shea Stadium. At Shea on October 3rd, 1979, His Holiness Pope John Paul II was hosted at Shea Stadium by The RC Diocese Of Brooklyn. He came in through the Shea Centerfield Fence, passing through what currently is Citi Field, when it was Shea's Parking Lot;
Shea Stadium saw more action in its' continuous time than Yankee Stadium II ever did. Shea was voted on MTV as the favorite concert location of all time. It got more use than Yankee Stadium II ever did. There were two different architects for Yankee Stadium I & II. In fact, Stadium II had the same architect firm as did Shea Stadium;
The ONLY thing OLD about Yankee Stadium II was its' outer shell, as everything inside of it was a new stadium, which operated from 1976 until 2008 as an arena. Shea was continuous, whereas Yankee Stadium I & II were not continuous;
Shea Stadium hosted 45 Seasons of MLB-NL & 2 Seasons + 1 other Game of MLB-AL. It Hosted 6 Seasons of AFL Football, 14 Seasons of NFL(AFC) & 1 Season of NFL(NFC). It hosted 1 NASL Playoff Game & 1 Full Season of ASL. It hosted Rock Concerts & other Things. Shea Stadium was OLDER & More-Used Than Stadium II;
Yankee Stadium-1923 to 2008? Surely The Yankees & Major League Baseball do jest, for the site is NOT CONTINUOUS;

Memories Of Section 27 Mezzanine At Shea Stadium-20 Yard Line At Jets Games
The MLB Game was boring but a chant which originated with the Anzalone Brothers Of College Point, Queens, was heard several times during the Mets Game;
"J-E-T-S, Jets, Jets, Jets", was chanted for 7 Innings. One could almost see Joe Namath dropping back for a pass;
The Memories of Green & Orange, usually seen in the Irish Tricoloured Flag, came alive that evening. Even the colour Red, seen here, is the Colour of The Province of Ulster;

From February 17th, '09-Is THIS A Harbringer For The '09 Mets Season?
I burst into tears a couple of minutes later;
Cassie of Bensonhurst and George of Woodside, I thank both of you for standing next to me when it all really ended;
@ 11:00AM, ET, Today, The remaining ramp & utility shed, will come down. But, it was the seating areas and concourses removal, which said ''SHEA IS GONE'';

Gabbo Gabbard Has Returned
He pitched a Complete Game on 07/14/07, wowing the Fans at Fenway Park. I saw him defeat the Atlanta Braves, on Sunday, May 20th, '07, in a Rain-Delayed Game;
He kinda reminded me of a certain NY Mets Lefty, Jerry Koosman;
Then came the Gagne' Deal, causing a great deal of consternation, in the Boston Part of Red Sox Nation, while I was making wisecracks about the FO, making the deal while under the influence of "Mary Jane", smuggled in from the Bowels of(Now Demolished)Shea Stadium, in Peanut Butter Jars. It was at Shea, last year, when Gabbo got his 1st MLB Hit, off Pedro Martinez;
Welcome Home, Gabbo;

The Omega And Alpha
For me, that final Shea Stadium Game Ever, was marked with tears, as I was on the ramp, from Upper Level, heading towards Gate D, which is now part of the new Citi Field Parking Lot. I burst into tears, remembering my departed folks, from both my 1st Ever Game(Dad in Loge), & 1st Day Game(Mom in Mezzanine, during the filming of the Triple Play Scene, for the movie version of ''The Odd Couple'', starring Walter Matthau & Jack Lemmon). Just like that 1st and Last Ever Day Games @ Shea Stadium, the Mets played the Pirates;
Now on Friday Evening, @ 6:10PM, @ Citi Field in Corona, Queens, a new era is dawning. The 1st Major League Baseball Game, abeit a pre-season game, will take place, as the NY Mets will host the Boston Red Sox. This will be most-unusual for any veteran of Shea Stadium, to be watching the Mets in a new home ballpark. It should be interesting;
However, I shall be rooting for the Red Sox, in Corona, Queens, not far from the Ice King of Corona. It's time for me to put Shea Stadium behind me, as new memories are waiting to be made, in a new place, evoking memories of Ebbets Field, with its' mighty Rotunda, now named for a man, who brought a new standard of excellence to Baseball, & who I saw in the distress of serious illness, at the Gil Hodges Wake in 1972:
That man in question, is Jackie Roosevelt Robinson;
It'll be an emotional evening;
BTW, The FOX Sports-K of C Free Throw Mocku-mentaries, are a thing of the past. They're no longer being written;
As I watched a replay of the 1st Mets Yankees Game, from 06/16/97:, I realize just what a talented commentator-play by play man, James Timothy Mc Carver, truly is;
It's Buck who brings out the Worst in Ol' Tim;
