Thinking of You

Thinking of my love today
With a broken heart still the way
It’s hard to believe it’s been two years
But passing time doesn’t stop my tears

The clothes are gone
It’s time to move on
Time passes so fast
It’s hard to grasp

The remaining “things”
Are all that’s left
But my memories are
The most precious gift

I miss you all the time
You will always be mine
Until the end of time
You will always be my lifeline

The Love of My Life

One year ago today
The love of my life faded away
Which opened the door
To a new way

Though times are rough
And facing life is tough
Gentle thoughts of you
Get me through

Remembering the years we shared
Without a care
And the deep undying love
That came from above

So do not fret
I'll never forget
The love we shared
Without despair

For now you are gone
And I'm all alone
But you'll always have my heart
That much I know

Days come and end
Memories are sometimes bright and dim
Til we meet again
I'll love you til the end

Love Karene

(p.s. A few weeks ago these words kept swirling and swirling around in my head. I just felt compelled to write them down. I wrote this in about 5 minutes. The strange thing is that I have never written anything, especially a poem, in my life. Craig was the poet.) Love you, my darling !

Katie's Quilt

Hi Everyone, well I survived my first holiday without Craig. It was happy and sad. I've been keeping busy with working two jobs and quilting. I made this adorable quilt for my great-niece, Kate's, second birthday. She is the most gorgeous little girl...but yeah, I'm prejudicious. Anyway, this is for her "big girl" bed when she gets it. My niece, Tricia (Katie's mom) will send me another picture of the quilt when she finally gets the bed, but I wanted to post a picture of it now. Happy Birthday, little darling !!!

All my love

I'm Back !!!!

Hi Everyone....I know it's been months since I blogged anything but I've been really busy working two jobs. I barely have any time to sew. However, I have been working on a few things, since my last post. I just love "redwork" and I wanted to learn how to do it right so I took Ms. Janet's hand embroidery class a while ago. Since I have tendinitis in my hands I can't work on it for long periods of time but this is something I really wanted to learn and work on. Slowly but surely, I was able to get my first redwork block done.

Janet and another person I take classes with, Emogene, worked on redwork Christmas stockings that turned out so cute. Emogene, took Janet's class when I did and her stocking turned out adorable. I'm pretty proud of my first block and have two more prepped and ready to start.
Some of the other things I have been working on is my Home Is Where the Heart Is block of the month. I'm really far behind on stitching them, but have all of them fused onto the backgrounds. I'll post pictures of these at a later date.
Thanksgiving was hard, and I'm not looking forward to Christmas. I can't listen or watch Christmas commercials, so I hope you will all forgive me but I just don't think I can send out Christmas cards this year. However, I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday with their families and friends.
I love you all !!!
