Steak Lover

We love dining or eating out and my husband is a big steak lover. He enjoys a sumptuous meal with a medium done rib eye steak complemented with the perfect steak seasoning.

I am really amazed with my husband's appetite. I am not much of a meat eater so whenever we go to restaurants, I skip the meat area and order the salads and seafood platter instead. My husband once cooked a nice steak (well done of course, for my pleasure!) at home and it was soft and moist. I have tasted steaks before too but I really prefer the well-done kind because I am such a fussy eater.

I am thinking of treating my steak-lover husband to a fine dining date this Valentine's Day in one of the nice steak house restaurants here in Dubai. There is Tony Roma's, Outback Steak and other fine restaurants that serve this kind of meal. I just hope I can satisfy my husband's taste.

Great Valentine Dates To Always Remember

Valentine's Day is a love it or hate it kind of holiday. To the cynics, it is overly commercialized and created just to give men and women another holiday for which they have to buy gifts. To the romantics, this isn't the case. Valentine's Day doesn't have to be expensive nor does it have to center around unnecessary gifts. It is about showing that special someone just how special they truly are.

Valentine's Day dates don't have to be overly expensive. In fact, sometimes making them cheesy is the perfect way to make them memorable without spending a fortune. A scavenger hunt is a great way for a man to show his girlfriend or wife the importance of their memories together. The hunt can be centered on different memories, such as the location of their first kiss, where they saw their first movie or any other place the woman can go in order to find another clue. The final destination should be something or somewhere that is extremely important to the relationship, such as the restaurant where the couple's first date took place. This type of activity usually sits well with sentimental women.

Some women aren't into the mushy and over the top types of Valentine's Day dates. There are plenty of women who would rather go on a gorgeous hike or spend the day kayaking instead of sitting at a fancy restaurant in a dress and heels. An outdoor adventure can be turned into
a romantic getaway. The man should carry a backpack with all the picnic essentials packed secretly away. Possible items could include a bottle of wine, cheese, crackers and, of course, a blanket. He should pull these out when they've reached the top of the mountain or another beautiful and memorable spot. While this type of date would cater to the woman's usual interests, it also has an unpredictable and thoughtful touch that is sure to leave her feeling special.

More often than not, love knows no bounds, and this includes financial boundaries. In today's world, women are juggling more, whether its school, work or even an entire family of their own. For this reason, it is important that the men in their lives take the time to pamper them. Taking a wife or girlfriend for a weekend retreat filled with massages and facials is a great way to make Valentine's Day all about her. For men who are usually not interested in these sorts of activities, it is a great way to demonstrate the lengths to which they are willing to go in order to ensure their significant other receives the attention she deserves.

The Smell of LOVE!

I smell love in the air and it's just around the corner. Valentine's Day is fast approaching and most couples I know are already scampering to find ways of celebrating it with interest.

The old-fashioned way of gift-giving does not appeal to my ultra-hip and modern friends so I guess, they are more into something adventurous and unique.

As for myself, my husband and I have been over the gift-giving phase and a simple "I love yous" do the trick. I for one will be content to receive a bunch of lovely flowers (tulips to be exact because they are my favorite!) if he wants to give me. If he does, then I can already smell Love!

Valentine's Day Gift For the Man of Your Life

The Christmas and New Year's holiday hustle and bustle has calmed down. We are in for another special occasion to celebrate in few weeks time. I am sure everyone is familiar with this romantic day celebrated globally - Valentine's Day.

Couples are already planning and asking around for favorable Valentines day presents to give their better halves, partners or sweethearts. The internet is buzzing with offers and promotional deals for people who wish to purchase their special gifts online. This saves them time, hassle and even money because of the great deals offered.

Like everyone else who wants to make their partners happy and special, I checked the web too for valentine's day gift for men and have found several hits. There are categories to choose from like gifts for the sporty, the romantic, the professional, the nature lover, the fashion-conscious, the food and wine expert and the gadget and high-tech fanatic.

The gift-giving trend for this romantic occasion has really evolved over the years. We have plenty of options and gift-giving has been creative too. An example of that is a hot-air balloon ride for the nature and adventure lover or a ride on a speeding jetboat to the sporty man of your life.

So, do not get stuck on the common gift trends. Be creative and enjoy the special moment together.

Valentine Flowers

February is just around the corner. Next thing we know it, we are already in the 2nd month of the year 2011. And what is so special about February? Well, for me, it's the month of my daughter's birthday and she will be turning 13 - an official teener. Globally, February is also the month of love and romance.

What is the better way of enjoying Valentine's day? Candle-lit dinner date for 2? A fabulous ring or necklace gift? A night in one of the fanciest hotel? A stroll on the park while holding hands and whispering sweet nothings? Or a box full of chocolates? Perhaps, flowers - beautiful Flowers of February? It is anyone's choice.

I prefer the flowers. It speaks a magnitude of emotion. It is not very expensive and it is beautiful. February is also the month where beautiful blooms of flower grow. February flowers include the following selections: Alstroemeria, Anthurium, Aster, Cattleya Orchid, Freesia, Hyacinth, Lilac, Tuberose, Tulip and Vanda. These flowers grow well in the season and will make good and interesting flower-cuts if arranged well.

Your Valentine's need not be expensive and fancy. Buying expensive things is not very practical anymore. Your love and affection will be appreciated as long as you convey your emotions through your beautiful flowers. It's classic and timeless just how a love should be.

Handmade Valentine Cards

I have been very busy these past few days because of my handmade cards activity. I created Valentine Lollie Cards and simple Valentine cards made out of card stock, patterned papers, ribbons, glitters and flat back gems for my daughter and her friends. They all liked the Valentine Lollie cards because they are unique, cute and no need to put in an envelope. And what is a lollipop without the stick handle right?

Here are my creations:

Dateless on Valentine's Day

While lovers all over the world scamper for the best seat in the restaurant or a fine date in a nice and cozy place, I am stuck at home enjoying my much deserved R & R. That's rest and relaxation which have been deprived from me for several months.

Just few weeks ago, before I learned that our vacation to Los Angeles was going to be sacked, I planned for a romantic get-away with my hubby while I leave my daughter with my aunt. I was already checking out motorhomes from the Internet. I thought hubby and I could drive off to Lake Tahoe for a romantic date. Poof! That's the sound of my dream being pricked by a needle!

So here I am, day-dreaming in sunny Dubai...

HVD 2010

I don't want to say that Valentine's Day is so over-rated. It shouldn't be. We can all celebrate the special "one-day" love day 365 days in a year regardless of the season.

Happy Valentine's Day to all. Here's wishing a fun-filled, romantic day to everyone, be it now or in the future. Let it be Valentine's Day all year round!

Oh Love!

It's Valentine's Day soon and a lot of couples out there are planning laboriously on every detail of their very important date this 14 February.

I remember the time when my hubby and I used to date. We always go out a day before the big event because we just don't want overcrowded places and you have to deal with the traffic too. After many years of togetherness, we still go out, he still buys me flowers and sometimes gives me gifts. I often ask him not to since I am already contented with whatever I have and being with him is more than enough (wink!).

Now, I'm not saying we are getting old for this "love-thing." As a matter of fact, there's no age boundary in celebrating or observing this special "love" day with someone dear to you or someone you are currently courting.

No matter the age, I think Valentine's Day is one of the most popular occasions people observe. It's one of those days when you get to feel "special." So, to every one out there, single or hooked, dating or not, married or something else...here's wishing you a day full of love on Valentine's Day. Hope the love flows beyond Valentine's!
