These fingerless mittens were knit using the pattern
Art Nouveau Fingerless Mitts
by Janice Kuykendal. The yarn is

Three Pairs Fingerless Mittens
Over the past few weeks I knit these three pairs of fingerless mittens from one skein of Dream in Color Starry (colorway
25 Wicked Royal). The pattern is Evie
by Yarnthology. I plan to use them for "just because" gifts.

Socks and Mittens
I decided to knit a pair of socks as I had not done so in quite a while. This pair was knit using Basic Ribbed Socks
by Kate Atherley. I used the Fish Lips Kiss Heel method and I grafted the toes closed. The yarn is Patons North America Kroy Socks 4 Ply in blue striped rag colorway. They fit my husband perfectly.
With the leftover yarn from the two skeins I knit this pair of fingerless mittens which I then gifted to a male colleague who is learning to knit. He loves them. The pattern is Light as AIR Fingerless Gloves
by Nathalie O'Shea. It is shortened version as there was limited yarn.

Fingerless Mitts and Beaded Headbands
These fingerless mitts are going to one of my sisters. The pattern is Cafe au Lait Mitts by Paula McKeever. I’m not sure what the yarn is. It’s some leftover in my stash.
These headbands are for a niece. She doesn't like hats much but maybe these will keep her ears warm while she looks like the princess she is. The pattern is Beads and Bows by Christine Marie Chen.

Blue Nalu Fingerless Mitts
I enjoy knitting fingerless mitts. These are knitted using yarn given to me, so I'm not sure of the exact fiber content. I suspect the yarn is a wool blend. The pattern is Nalu Mitts by Leila Raabe.

Fingerless Mitts and Felted Slippers
These felted slippers were made using the pattern is Non-felted Slippers by Yuko Nakamura. The yarn is Bernat Pebblespun. Though this pattern isn't actually intended to be felted, the slipper were slightly large and I had felted a bag using this yarn. After two rounds through the washing cycle (hot water), the slippers are a nice size 8 women's.
The anti-skid treatment is done.
I had just enough of the yarn left for some fingerless mitts. The mitts are a shortened version of the pattern Slim and Funky Fingerless Gloves by Mindy Antonchak. I put them through a regular laundry load (warm wash/cold rinse).

Hat and Fingerless Mittens
I made these mittens mostly using some yarn given to me by a colleague's wife. The fiber content was unknown and a ran out just shy of finishing the second mitten. I guessed at the yarn (baby alpaca) and got close but not an exact match. The pattern is Fallberry Mitts by Anne Hanson.
I then used the remainder of the purchased yarn to make this basic hat. The pattern is Regular Guy Beanie by Chuck Wright.

Fallberry Fingerless Mitts
I think I will keep this pair of fingerless mitts. I really like how they turned out and the soft ecru color. The pattern is Fallberry Mitts by Anne Hanson. The yarn Unger Roly-Sport.
This photo shows the texture even better

Easy Elegance Mitts
These photos don't do justice to these lovely mitts. The yarn is a much deeper, richer red. I took several photos but couldn't seem to capture the color. The pattern is Easy Elegance Mitts by Jackie Erickson-Schweitzer. I altered it and added the thumb gusset and thumb. The original pattern only has a thumb slit. I bought a supply kit from HeartStrings which included red Mohair/Wool yarn (Heirloom Aristocrat 12 ply) with garnet glass beads.
This photos is an attempt to show the beads in the cuff area.

More Knitted Hats and Some Fingerless Mitts
I have a lot of nieces (11)/ nephews (11)and a growing number of great-nieces (up to 8) with two new ones this year) and great-nephew (3 now). I've been on a roll this year with knitting gifts for some of them.
These first two were made using left over yarn from the slippers. Both were made using the pattern Regular Guy Beanie by Chuck Wright. Both went to great-nephews for Christmas. I downsized the regular guy beanie pattern, casting on only 72 stitches rather than 84.
Second regular guy beanie made in child size:
I used the regular guy beanie pattern for this one for a nephew. I used two yarns from my stash (the brown is Berroco Ultra Alpaca; the other is leftover Maine Woods hand painted wool). The effect was almost camouflage.
This one will go to a great-niece. The pattern is Purple Stitch Project Beanie by Paula Pereira. The yarn is Adriafil Knitcol.
This one is didn’t photograph well. The colors are pink and orange. Another great-niece will get this one. The pattern used is Hermione's Globe Hat by Margie Mitchell. The yarn is Manos del Uruguay Maxima in peach melba.
This one (for another great-niece) uses the same Manos del Uruguay Maxima yarn. The pattern is Techno Hat by Colleen Powley.
These two are for twin girls (great-nieces). I downsized the regular guy beanie. Unsure what the yarn is.
These fingerless mitts are at the request of a brother-in-law with large hands. The mitts are large on me so hopefully will fit him. The pattern is Man Paws by Chelsea Fabrizio. The yarn is Lion Brand Heartland.

Ashbury Mitts and More
These Ashbury mitts were fun to knit as I enjoy knitting fingerless mitts and I enjoy lace knitting. The pattern is Ashbury Mitts by Simona Merchant-Dest. The yarn is Bijou Spun by Bijou Basin Ranch Lhasa Wilderness (75/25 Yak & Bamboo) in a lovely cream color (the photo does not do it justice). These are for one of my nieces.
With the leftover yarn I made two baby hats. This first one is a Christmas gift for a grand-niece who was born this fall. The pattern is Lacy baby / toddler hat by Linda Kuzma. I used some unknown leftover pink yarn to crochet the ribbon.
This one used not only the leftover yarn from the Ashbury mitts but also yarn left over from two other projects -- Malabrigo Yarn Lace in dusty rose (left over from the swirl jacket) and Rowan Kidsilk Haze Glamour in blood red (left over from the modified girlie mitts). There was only enough of the Kidsilk for the lower half. It’s a little small so not sure it will fit the other grand-niece born this year or not. I may have to donate it to the local children’s hospital.

Modified Girlie Mitts
I liked the cuff and back of this fingerless mitten pattern. I didn't like the way the thumb was done, no gusset. So I changed it. I "rewrote" the pattern (Girlie Mitts by Kristle Chester) to include a thumb gusset and to add the trim at the palm edge that mirrors the cuff. I knit them using two yarns knit together: Lion Brand LB 1878 and Rowan Kidsilk Haze Glamour (has sequins).
They fit nicely though I wish they were just a bit snugger.
Here are my changes to the pattern as per left mitt. The right mitt changes would mirror these.
Round 25: p1, K29, *p1, K4* to end.
Round 26: p1, t4b, *K1, t4b* 6 times, *p1, t4b* 3 times
Round 27: p1, K34, *p1,K4* 3 times
Round 28: p1, K10, Fishtail Lace panel, K7, *p1,K4* to end
Round 29: p1, K10, lace panel, K7, *p1,K4* to end
Round 30: p1, K10, lace panel, K7, *p1, K4* to end
Round 31: p1,K10, lace panel, K7, *p1, K4* to end
Row 32 is where I started the thumb gusset.
Row32: p1, K4, place marker, M1R, K1, M1L, place marker, K5, lace panel, K7, *p1, K4* to end
Row 33: p1, K12, lace panel, K7, *p1, K4* to end
Even rows now will be same as row 32 until there are 17 stitches between markers. Do next row in pattern (ie like row 33, knitting all stitches between p1 and lace panel section), then the next row (not sure what the number is as I ended up repeating the lace panel pattern a total of 4 times by the time the gloves were finished rather than twice as called for by the original pattern. Anyway on the first even row after getting to 17 stitches between markers, p1, knit 4, remove marker, place 17 stitches on waste yarn, remove second marker, add 1 stitch by using yarn to “cast on stitch”, K5, lace panel, K7, *p1, K4* to end.
Continue in pattern to end of the 4th repeat lace panel.
Repeat Round 1-4, then bind off.
Thumb:
place 17 stitches from waste yarn on needles and pick up 3 stitches where inside of thumb joins mitt for total of 20 stitches. Knit 3 rounds. Knit round 1-4, then bind off.

Fingerless Gloves and Surgeon's Cap
Two small projects recently finished. The first one is another pair of fingerless gloves using some leftover yarn from an old project. The yarn is Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine and the actual color is a darker blue, more navy than seen in these photos. The pattern Light as AIR Fingerless Gloves by Nathalie O'Shea. I altered it slightly by using the cuff detail at the thumb and palm edges too.
Here you can see the detail I little better.
The second small project is another surgeon’s cap. It was made using Dr. Seuss cotton fabric. The trim was harvested from old bow ties.
There are two inches between each whole number on the trim.

Two Pairs of Fingerless Mittens
Here are two different pair of fingerless mittens I recently finished knitting using "left-over" yarn from other projects. I think they might make nice gifts, especially since we all love to text/etc with our smart phones these days.
I love the lace pattern on the lighter blue but it isn't quit as form fitting as the darker blue. Perhaps in the future I can combine the two patterns. For the light blue one I used the pattern Swan Maiden Mitts by Holly Terrell and left over Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine yarn.
For the darker blue ones I used the pattern Pianissimo Mitts by Becky Herrick and the same yarn (Berroco Ultra Alpaca Fine) in a darker blue, left over from the same project.
