Three More Knitted Hats

The first hat was knit using the pattern Jason's Cashmere Hat by Melissa Thomson.  The yarn is Malabrigo Yarn Rios in colorway Diana (#886).  I think I may keep this one.
The second one was knit at my husband's request.  I used the Regular Guy Beanie by Chuck Wright.  The yarn is Cascade Superwash 220 in black.
I then used the leftover yarn from the above two hats to knit the third one seen below. I used the pattern Gingerbread Hat by Angela Whisnant.

Two Gingerbread Hats

Recently knit these two hats using the pattern Gingerbread Hat by Angela Whisnant.  I bought Super Traveler yarn by Dragonfly Fibers at my local yarn shop (Yarn Kandy) in colorway Turning Leaves.  They only had one skein but I thought I'd have enough to make a hat.  I was wrong so I went online to order more and ordered Traveler rather than Super Traveler.  Only needed one skein of traveler weight but needed about 1.3+ skeins of the super traveler.  The hat knit with traveler weight is on the left in the photo.  Added Big Bad Wool fur pompoms to the hats (bought at Yarn Kandy)

Three Hats

I have been knitting hats lately.  Here are three that I've finished.  The first one is knit using the pattern Bankhead by Susie Gourlay.  The yarn is Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted (186 Lagoon colorway).
These two are knit using the pattern Regular Guy Beanie by Chuck Wright (only I used a K1P1 ribbing rather than K2P2). The yarn is Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted (105 Cocoa Bean and 186 Lagoon colorway).

Two Knitted Hats

Recently knit these two hats.  The first one was knit using the pattern Perfect Slouch Hat by Susan Sheby.  The yarn is Knit Collage Cast Away in colorway Nomad. As I had size 13 needles rather than size 15 the pattern called for I cast on 42 stitches rather than 36. The fur pompom completes the hat.
The second hat was knit without a pattern.  I cast on 96 stitches and did knit a simple K1P1 pattern using size 4 needles for 1.5 in then switched to size 6 needles to complete the hat. The yarn is Wool-Ease in mushroom.

Two Knitted Hats

I finished these two hats recently.  The first one was knit using the pattern "Icehouse Hat" by Melissa LaBarr.  The darker yarn is a wool or wool blend from my scrap basket (unsure what it is).  The lighter yarn is Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino.

This hat was knit using the pattern "father cables" by Veronika Jobe.  The yarn is Plymouth Yarn Encore Worsted in neon pink.
Both hats have been mailed to friends.

Two Pink Declan's Hats

I knit these two small hats (one baby size, one toddler size) for a friend's two daughters.  The pattern is Declan's Hat by Samantha Kirby.  The yarn is Plymouth Yarn Encore Worsted in neon pink.  The hats look good without the pompoms but I like them better with the fur pompoms (found attached to key chains).

Two Knitted Hats

The first hat was knit using PS Yarn (100% alpaca purchased at a local street fair, lovely yarn) in a slate color.  The pattern is Dembow hat by Susan Dittrich.  I think I may give it to a friend.

 It stretches and fits snugly.
This second hat was knit using the same yarn in a navy/gold colorway.  It was based on the same pattern (cast on same number stitches, began cuff ribbing same, but then instead of pattern I changed to a K6 P2 repeat).  I have already gifted to a neighbor who helped my husband with a home improvement project.

Knitting for Noggins Hats

During the past year I knit several hats that were deliberately made for Knitting for Noggins or just weren't gifted to friends/family.  These are some I have not featured in prior posts like the Illilouette Hat.   I sent them a total of nine hats this time.  This first one was knit using the pattern Sirle by Suvi Simola.  The yarn is Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio DK in the color Lauraville.
I actually gave the larger of the two (a slouch version) in this next photo to a friend.  The smaller one I donated. The pattern is Milanese Lace Topper by tante ehm.  The yarn is Lion Brand Wool-Ease in the color Heather.

This one was knit using the pattern Tombreck by Ysolda Teague. Unsure what yarn was used.

This one was made using left over yarns.  The pattern is based on the Messy Bun Hat II by Isela Phelps but no opening was left at the top.

Three Pussy Hats

I have a friend going to Washington DC to participate in the Women's March on Washington.  She is meeting a few of her friends there who are also participating in the march.  There is a group (Pussy Hat Project) encouraging the knitting/wearing of pussy hats.  I knit three hats for my friend to take with her.  I knit all of them using the pattern KitKat Hat by Andre Sue.  I modified the body on hats the first and third hats.  This first one used the Milanese Lace Topper for the body.  The yarn is  Lion Brand Vanna's Choice in raspberry.

This second hat was knit using Loops & Threads Facets yarn in the color ruby.
For the third hat I just continued the ribbing in the center of the front and back.  The yarn is Lion Brand Vanna's Choice in rose.
Other patterns for the project hats can be found here (both for knitting and crocheting).

More Messy Bun Hats

I made these three messy bun hats using the same yarn (Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Tweeds) and pattern (Messy Bun Hat II by Isela Phelps) which I modified slightly -- one for my brother's girl, one for a cousin, and one for a friend.

Pattern with my variations:
Used needles US size 10 and 11.  Cast on 56 stitches using the smaller needles.  Join to knit in round, careful not to twist.  K1,P1 for 8 rounds.  Switch to larger needles.  *Purl 5 rounds.  Knit 4 rounds.* X two.  Begin decreases with next round.  P5, p2tog, repeat around.  Purl all. P4,p2tog; repeat around.  Purl all.  K3, k2tog, repeat around.  Knit all.  K2,k2tog.  K1,k2tog, k3; repeat around.  Bind off.

Happy New Year to you all

Illilouette Hat

I love the way this hat turned out.  It is a slouch hat knit using pattern Illilouette Hat by Jenna Swanson.  The yarn is Juniper Moon Farm Herriot Heathers in burgundy.  The first photo is prior to blocking.  The second shows the hat being blocked over a large plate. The last is the hat after blocking.

Seven More Hats

All these were knit last year but not yet featured here. The first two hats (first three photos) were knit using the pattern Techno Hat by Colleen Powley.  The yarn for the first one is  Creative Melange Chunky by Rico Design.

The yarn for this one is Charisma by Loops & Threads.
The pattern for this white hat is Hermione Hearts Ron by Christy Aylesworth. The yarn is HiKoo by skacel Simplicity.
These next two photos are of three hats made using leftovers from other hats with basic hat pattern.  A crocheted rose and a pompom added to two of them.

The last three photos are of a hat knit using the pattern Lace Tam by Lois Young.  The yarn is Crystal Palace Yarns Sausalito.  This photo is from the top.
This photo is from the underside.
 This one from the side.

Five More Knitted Hats

Here are five more knitted hats.  All made using basic hat pattern.  These two brown/blue hats were made using  I Love This Wool!  yarn (brown) and left over blue yarn (unsure of brand).

These yellow ones were made using left over yarn that I think is  Cascade 220 Superwash.  The black yarn strips of left over yarn (unsure of brand).

This soft gray hat was knit using Zarina by Filatura Di Crosa.

Yule Hats

This two hats use yarn Universal Yarn Uptown Worsted Tapestry in Yule color scheme. The one on the left was made using Elf's Hat by Tara Mercer.  There wasn't quite enough of the skein for two elf hats so the second one is a simple basic hat.

More Hats for Charity

These three hats will be added to others for a total of eleven to be sent to Knitting for Noggins.  I have sent them other hats in the past. The first two here were made from left over yarns from other projects.
This blue and white hat was made from Red Heart yarn as a "mock up" for a hat I will be making for my husband using wool yarn.  I wanted to get the white and blue areas the correct widths per his specifications.  Also I noticed that when the white ribbing is turned up there is a blue line so when I knit his I will decrease the ribbing by one row and add a row of stockinette stitch.
