simply adorned {necklace}

I have finally gotten around to making my simply adorned necklace charm! Sometimes, the best intentions can ge waylayed (is that a real word) by life and stuff in general, but I have to say that I'm so glad I carved out the time to do it because as I was doing it, I remembered how quick and easy - not to mention FUN - it is to stamp and create a unique locket insert! Now, isn't that pretty? Since the locket has glass on both sides, you create 2 pieces of art. Here's my other side
I used the Charming set and it really is just too cute (and simple!). If you look closely, you'll see that I added a little rhinestone bling to add a little extra sassyness. The charm measures 1" x 1 1/4" and the chain I used is 34" in length. Another nice feature of the charm is that it has its own clasp, so you can detach it from the necklace and put it on another necklace to easily change things up. As for the pretty chain, you can wear it long, or it can be wrapped around your neck 2x. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of me modeling it, but I will do that so you can see it and get a feel for the length and versatility. Hope you like it!

Have a great day!

Simply adorned!

Have you seen Stampin'Up!'s simply adorned jewelry pieces? They are just goregeous! Here's a look at the bracelet and the adorable little circle charm. You can stamp a little something on both sides of the circle charm, which I think makes it so versatile. Plus, since it fits a 1/2" circle punch, you can create all kinds of inserts to suit your mood or outfit!
Here's a look at the other side. I used the Charming stamp set. Too cute!
This is a full view of the bracelet - it's got such a pretty toggle clasp! The bracelet is a bargain at $7.95 and the circle charm is $8.95. You can check out the details in the Occasions Mini catalog. Here's a quick peek:
Hope you like it! It's a fun way to incorporate your crafting into your own fashionable style.

These pieces are available to order online at my Demonstrator Website. Just click on the "Shop Now" button and you'll be good to go!

Good night! Time for me to go to bed :)

So nice to relax...

Ahh! What a nice catch up weekend this ended up being. After feeling behind now for the last couple of weeks and just going and going and going to try to catch up, I finally feel like I can breath at ease again! This weekend was full of crafty projects for me - I made invitations for my friend's baby shower and got them in the mail today. My goal was to finish and mail them off yesterday, but that didn't quite happen. At least, I was only a day off and since the shower's local, most of the people should get them by Tuesday. I'll post the invite later in the week so that it'll be a surprise, in case some of you visitors out there are on the shower list ;)

On Saturday night, we had a nice dinner with my family for a belated Happy Birthday Dinner for my Mom, so that was a lot of fun. And today, I got to catch up some more on laundry and finishing up the invites. The only thing I didn't end up doing was running, but maybe I'll go now...it's super windy, but at least it's sunny so it sort of takes the bite out of the wind.

Well, before I go, I thought I'd share some earrings I made for my sister-in-law's sister, Hallie. I haven't been able to spend much time making jewerly lately, but when I made these, it had reminded me how much I enjoy doing that hobby too! Here they are - simple drops in an aquamarine colored quartz:

Hope you like them! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Bye for now!

Post Christmas Jewels

Hope you all enjoyed your Christmas! Now that all the presents have been opened, I thought I'd post some pictures of some of the Christmas gifts I made. I really do enjoy creating things, and perhaps that's the silver lining for as a result of being laid off. In any case, I've had a good time getting back into my jewelry and stamping hobbies! Here are a couple of earrings I made. This first one is a pair that I made my sister-in-law Jennifer. I call these Earthy Dangles and the stones are multi-colored quartz.

This little dainty pair is what I call Peridot flowers. They are made of Swarovski peridot crystals and I made these for my niece Marina.

Thanks for looking! :)

Sharing some champagne bubbles

For this last Sunday before Christmas, I thought I would share one of the gifts I made for a friend. These earrings were inspired by a pair of earrings that my friend Cathy made. She was wearing these beautiful white pearl dangly earrings and I loved how they looked. I decided to copy the design and made what I call these "champagne bubbles" because that's what they remind me of - as these little Swarovski pearls dangle on the fine guage silver chain.

Of course, I incorporated my stamping on the tag as part of the packaging!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend. And if you're out and about shopping for any last minute Christmas presents, I wish you all the luck battling those mall/store crowds! Ciao for now!

Baubles and bling

Today I thought I'd share one of my other hobby passions - jewelry making! I picked up the hobby a few years ago from one of my friends who showed me a few basic steps on wire wrapping and I was hooked! While it's been tough to split time between my hobbies, there have been quite a few occassions when my hobbies have actually come in handy for gifts or special order requests. Here are two pieces I've made - both spoken for already - for holiday gifts. This is a jade and sterling silver necklace:

I was inspired to create these simple earrings from a cute pair of earrings I saw in Prague from our trip this past summer. This picture doesn't do them justice - you can't see how they sparkle when the light hits them!

I need to create a few more jewelry gifts for Christmas, so once I finish my stamping duties (ie finish off and mail the Christmas cards), I'm on to making jewels! :)
