Prompted by Paul Bausch's article on Hacking Safari Web Services, I've gone ahead and put a Safari sidebar on my blog. I wish it were contextual like AdSense, that'd be super useful for my post pages. Mostly I wanted the developer's token, so I can play with their API.

With the Ten Commandments in the news again, I think now's a good time to bring up Christopher Hitchen's article on the subject.

You know, I don't want to be all mushy but we're really going to miss having him around, obsolete or not.

There's never a replacement for somebody like Ev and he's done such a tremendous job of democratizing our team that nobody will need to. He's always had as much faith in us as we in him and his leaving shows that faith in spades.

I'll always be grateful for the trust Ev's placed in me and if, in my life, I accomplish a small percentage of what he has, I'll be glad.

My biggest hope for Ev, besides always having a "next big idea", and perpetual happiness, is that he now has enough money to stop using his hands as a tissue.

I can't believe it's Monster Park now.

Four members of the city's board of supervisors have put a measure on the Nov. 2 ballot that would make the stadium's permanent name Candlestick Park, precluding all future sales of naming rights.

"Across the political spectrum, voters and sports fans are fed up with the intrusion of corporate marketers into every part of our lives and culture," board president Matt Gonzalez said in a press release explaining Proposition H. "I doubt voters in San Francisco will want to trade local history and everything associated with Candlestick Park just for more corporate advertising."
