Pink Saturday -- Yummy Pink Inspiration

One my
favorite

SOURCES OF INSPIRATION
Handy
and FULL of
PINK!

BUT ...

Not everything pink
and cute
works for me.

I am owned by a cat
and he cat would
NEVER
wear this outfit ...

So ....
what DOES
work for me?

How about this pink room?
well, lots of good pink fun,

but not sure I could
LIVE with it

EVERY DAY.

Maybe pink in
small doses
is what I feel like

at least for today!

What about these small bits?
These turn of century
pink sentiment cups?

Yep!

LOVE EM!

and reminds me I have some ...
somewhere here in Whoville.

Oooo ...
 bottlebrush trees!

Do I want
(or need)
some in pink??

Maybe!!

How about a
light in the window?

Pink, of course!
Like this wonderful creation by
Laurie (Magpie Ethel)

Who would've thought
plastic vintage lights
could be so
SPECTACULAR!

How about a few
sweet pink floral touches
like
pink roses?
Perfectly pink for
any season,

especially

Christmas!

Now maybe just a bit more ...

a few
pink ornaments

and

pink depression glass.

Like this?
Yep ...

I could have a holiday brunch
at a table like this!

And speaking of brunch ....
now that's what I call
pink inspiration!

Hugs and have an inspirational Pink Saturday!

Falling for Fall

Mmmm ...

Just back from a trip to Washington.
No, no, no ....
not THAT Washington!

That trip is NEXT week, silly!

But THIS Washington ...
AND GUESS WHAT?!?

While I was away,
fall happened ...
on both coasts.

It reminded me
how much I like fall
and it's bits and pieces.

Here are a few
just for you.
Leaves from Sandy and Joe at
They are not in the Northwest ....
but a great blog to visit.

These luscious lovelies are from
She had a great time at Art Camp while I was gone.
This one is from Florence's blog
(And it sounds like I missed a
GREAT primitive sale while I was gone!!)

And don't you love this one from Noteworthy Musings?
And this one too?
Carole had some great getaways.

It's nice to take a few minutes
to catch up with
what people have been doing ...

I LOVE
our time together.
So many more to drop by and see ...

and comments to reply to.

WHEW!

But first a quick look
at MY own bit of fall
in my dining room
Preserved leaves from Safeway
artificial blooms (on sale) at Michael's
salvaged curly willow in
an old ironstone pitcher ...

And look closer ...
my own
PUMPKIN MAGIC WAND!!
from sweet Martha at

Time to get back to work! ....

Hugs and hopes for a fabulous fall!

This book says it all ...
whether in London
or Oregon.
Do you know Atlanta Bartlett's work?
It's wonderful.

No, really!

Here's her website to check things out ...
I'll wait.

See!
Here's a sample pic for those who didn't look!

And ... guess what!

She is doing a book signing ...

in LONDON!

I guess I should've stayed longer!  lol!

Besides the book
The Comforts of Home

the winner will get all of this!
Some of the goodies --
a vintage postcard
with roses ....
another vintage card
this one is Valentine's Day ...
They are lovely on the front ...
but LOOK at the back!

The birthday card is dated
February 17, 1915
with this inscription:
Dearest friend
Forgot to send this on time so will send it now.
Hope this finds you all well and happy.
With lots of love

Other postcard is mailed to
Junction City, Oregon.

Ledger paper is also included ...
Pacific Visible Systems
Portland, Oregon

A delicate glass
"flower basket"

sweet slotted dish
and
English bone china egg cup

small handpainted pink roses
set in a band of blue
and there are
THREE
of these Meito China bowls!

and a plate with trio of pink roses.
Maybe for your cookies -
er, biscuits I mean -
during tea.
Hmmm ... wasn't there something else PROMISED?!!

Yep.

Bits from London.

See them in the "new"
group shot?

At the top.

First we have
a rusty old skeleton key ....

Bought in England.

But so many of the market vendors are from all over Europe that the key could be from ANYWHERE!

I know .... isn't that your key to the little box you keep in the back of your closet with ....

Well - we'll let that secret stay a secret!

Finally -
A touch of royalty.

A sweet spoon.

With royal connections.

...besides you, I mean!

I wonder if you can click to enlarge and see what it says ....

This spoon.

King Edward VIII
inscription FED. DEF. IND. IMP.

I do not read Latin
(yes - I am a public education doofus...)
but I believe it means
defender of Empire and God
which apparently was the
job description of
Britain's kings and queens.

Who knew?
This is the King who renounced his throne for love
of an American.

And now he's yours ...

White Wednesday - London bits - London #10

Chippy

Rusty

White

Yeah -

that describes some of the
"treasure bits" that I lugged
home from London.

Cool lion door knocker, huh!
Not a lot of white -
but I LOVE him!

doll bits
tiny antique cups and saucers
delicate linen measuring tape

french beaded flowers
french jars

mmmmm.....

I wish I had another suitcase
--and the strength to carry --
and I would have bought the
WHOLE BOX of JARS!!

wooden finials

not white,
but aren't the keyhole guards dreamy, too?
(do they have a "real" name??)

chippy old door hardware

who realized I bought the same bits
at THREE markets??

Guess I'm consistent!

These will all be for
art-y projects ....

Like this
PERFECT
clock face.

Perfect for a holiday project.

But also perfect for
"just looking at".

In case it's not done for
THIS Christmas ....

Just sayin'
NO PRESSURE!

Several of the bits
are now "living"
in the cubbies in my
dining room.

They have joined other
white pals ...
like the small
ironstone creamer
at Tarte barn ...

Who else is there?

This and that.

Bits and pieces pulled together.

No real plan --

They just make me smile!

Hugs and hoping you have many occasions to smile today!

Fun and Finds = London #8

YUMMY!

Yes, the food in
London
is surprisingly good
given it's bad press

But even tastier are

TREASURES

Shall we step out for a day?

Time to wake up and get movin'!
But where should we go?
The tube is a speedy and efficient
way to navigate around London.

Let's try Spitafield's Market,
shall we?

Check out the route ...
any transfers needed?

Remember that we're
"not in Kansas anymore"

But it seems Dorothy's pals
have decided
London
is the place to be!

The market is full of
many types of stalls.

Some booths have BOXES
of things to dig through ..

Others are neatly displayed
and PRICED.
The keys on this table -
from and old jail.
180 BPS ...
that's about $270 ..
they were not among my purchases.

But, look at all these treats ...

And even more ...

Whew ...
a lot to look through.

Maybe we should head
somewhere else?

But first a quick snack ..

Look no further!
American style brownies.
Don't know what made them
"American Style"
but we LOVED them!

This is our next stop.

Our destination?

Even the traffic signs
want you to have a good time!

Look at this cute shop!
(and a perfect name, too!)

Some "toys" for our guys?
(Yes, Mr. Sammy Girl spent a
LOT of time at this stall!)

Maybe some vintage paper?

Silver?

Old glass?
Oops ... not for sale, silly ...
those are 1 and 2 AD at the
British Museum!
But I WOULD LOVE to have ....

An old clock or two?
(I am seriously thinking about returning
to see about this beauty!)

Dolls or miniatures?
This is Heather.
She has AWESOME goodies
in her shop.
The bell jar arrangement
behind her is
INCREDIBLE.
Wind up and a bird in the flowers sings ...

More bits and bobs
than ANYONE could want!

And of course the china!
(only three sets of these
black and pink with rose beauties,
or they WOULD be mine!)

Mmmmm..

Time to drag ourselves away.

Heading back for real food
and sleep.

Tomorrow?

Shopping or culture.

Tough choice!

Hugs and may your days be filled with WONDERFUL CHOICES.
