Please welcome this quarter's guest designer, Penny Ward.
Hello from Largo & Lake Placid, Florida. My name is
Penny Ward and I am so honored to be a guest designer here at Scor-Pal. I
started making greeting cards about 2 years ago (though I have never made a
scrapbook page) and I LOVE all the tools and pretty papers!!! I am currently on the Design Team at
ScrapbookPal.com and my first published cards came out in the November issue of
CardMaker magazine, with at least six more published cards to follow in 2013.
I retired from a Fortune 300 company recently after almost
20 years. I have been married forever to the most wonderful man. We have two
grown sons (Shane & Logan), a beautiful daughter in love (Soledad) and the
two most adorable grandsons on earth (Declan & Ryder).
I hope you will visit my blog www.pennysscrappaperscissors.blogspot.com
often for new ideas and inspiration.
Today I am bringing you a sweet card that is appropriate for any woman. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and what friend, sister, mother, grandmother wouldn't love receiving this card in the mail????
Supplies needed |
Supplies:
Water color paper (Canson)
Stamps : Uplifting Occassion (Penny Black), Encouraging Words (Stampendous)
Clear embossing powder (Tsukineko)
White Enamel Accents (Ranger)
Faux Pearl (Michaels)
Versafine Ink Black (Tsukineko)
Hot pink Ribbon (Michaels)
Scor-Bug (Scor-pal)
Scor-tape (Scor-pal)
1) Cut a card base from heavy weight card stock (I use watercolor paper) sized 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. Ink around edges of left half of card base.
Score lines & Scor-Bug bumps |
2) Cut white card stock just a bit smaller than base. Score @ 1/2 inch marks, then use Scor-Bug every 1/2 inch in between score lines. Ink right side of this section. Attach hot pink ribbon down the center and attach this section to base card with ScorTape.
3) Stamp image and heat with clear embossing powder. Color with Copic markers and fussy cut. Add White Enamel Accents and Glossy Accents as desired. Attach to card front with foam adhesive.
4) Make accordion rosette by cutting 1/2 inch strip of white card stock. Stamp strip with sentiment and ink. With Scor-Pal, score strip every 1/2 inch, fold back and forth, glue ends together, squish together and glue a scrap of heavy card stock to back of rosette, let dry, then add a faux pearl to center. Attach rosette to hot pink ribbon as shown.
5) Make banner with by cutting hand cutting or using your favorite die or electronic cutter file. Stamp and heat emboss sentiment on banner, then ink the left side. Attach to card base with foam adhesive.
I hope you enjoyed today's card and invite you to visit my blog for other inspiration.
Be sure to check back often for new ideas.
Hugs, Penny
