Echo Park ~ Christmas Joy 🎄
Together - 49 and Market - Evergreen Season Collection
Happy New Year, Everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season! It’s Rebecca here, and I’m kicking off 2025 with our first blog post of the year! After a whirlwind December, I’m finally catching up on my Christmas photos and getting them into my scrapbook. Today, I’m excited to share a layout I created using the beautiful Evergreen Season collection from 49 and Market. You can find it in the shop here.
While browsing an online scrapbooking group, I came across a challenge to incorporate something 'torn' into a layout, and it immediately sparked an idea for me. I decided to start by cutting strips ¾ inch wide from the 'Cheerful Christmas Star' patterned paper. I chose this paper because the colours perfectly complement the background of my photo. To achieve the torn effect, I used a ruler as a guide and tore the paper along its edge for a neat, yet distressed look. I further enhanced the edges with a distressing tool and added a final touch by tearing both ends of the strips, fully embracing the challenge!
Next, I adhered the torn strips flat onto a sheet of premium white cardstock. I placed my photo on top, layering some colourful elements from the Ephemera Bits behind it. These layers not only create separation between the photo and the torn strips but also make the photo pop!
For my title, I chose the word “Together” from the Ephemera Bits. It felt perfect for this layout, as I’m documenting a rare photo of the three of us taken during a recent Christmas photoshoot.
When it comes to embellishing, 49 and Market collections always have so much to offer, and I absolutely love the variety! Each pack is filled to the brim with amazing elements, which sometimes makes it tough to choose. For this layout, I selected a mix of Christmas trees in various sizes. The larger tree comes from the Laser Cut Outs - Wildflowers, while the smaller one is from the Mini Laser Cut Out Elements. These trees were a great fit above my photo, as they echoed the trees in the photo background, creating a seamless effect.
I also added some beautiful florals from the Laser Cut Outs - Wildflowers around the photo, with a few chipboard circles from the Chipboard Words nestled among them. These tiny details really help bring the layout together.
To finish the layout, I raised some of the embellishments with foam pads to add depth and texture. I also curled the petals of the poinsettias to give the page even more dimension and interest.
Thank you so much for reading! I hope this layout has inspired you to capture your own Christmas memories in a creative way.
Wishing you all a fantastic New Year ahead!
Take care,
Rebecca x

Photoplay Paper - Holly & Ivy - Ho Ho Ho
Hi everyone!
Claire here today with another fun festive layout using the Holly & Ivy collection from Photoplay.
I'm loving creating with this collection. The colours and patterns are so beautiful and the ephemera includes so many adorable pieces as you'll see in my layout. Let's jump in...!
I started with a piece of Premium White cardstock and lightly applied a coat of Gesso to prime the surface as I knew I wanted to add mixed media. Whilst it was drying, I cut four large snowflakes from the Noel paper. This is one of my favourites in the collection - a gorgeous traditional red tartan - a pattern I really enjoy at Christmas. I cut my snowflakes on my cricut but you could replicate the design with any large shapes of your choosing, perhaps using dies or hand draw for that extra special hand crafted feel.
Once the gesso had dried, I grabbed some gold watercolour paint and applied it with a brayer, mostly in the centre of the page, but also created pols of colour top right and bottom left to act as an anchor for some clusters i'd be adding later. I also added some random background stamping using a stamp from my stash. You can find similar in the shop here.
I mounted my photo three times to pull in those pretty patterns and colours from the Holly (a and b sides) and the Santa Supply Co papers, and adhered the photo on foam to the centre of the page. Around the sides, I added my snowflakes, sticking just the centre to the page so I could lift the edges to create dimension.
Using some of the Element Stickers, I added fun centres to the middles of the two main snowflakes to help them stand out. Next, I just had to use that gorgeous Christmas lodge sticker and the fun Ho Ho Ho title, placing them around my photo corners to draw the eye into the picture.
With my final snowflake, I cut it in half, placing one top right and the other bottom left. To the top, I made a small banner from the 'This house believes' sticker and adding an eyelet and string.
To the bottom cluster, I added some foliage, a candy cane and green snowflake sticker pulling in all the colours of the collection.
As a final touch, I added some tiny star stickers from the Element Sticker sheet across each cluster in both red ad black, and sprinkled some gold Pinkfresh Studio Gold Jewel Essentials.
I hope you've enjoyed my posts with this beautiful collection. Don't forget to check it out in the shop here.
All that leaves is for me to wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Photo Play Paper - Holly & Ivy - Merry Christmas
Hello,
It's Claire, sharing a fun festive layout using the gorgeous Holly & Ivy collection from Photo Play.
I love a traditional Christmas colour scheme and this is full of reds and greens with lots of beautiful patterned paper.
For my first layout though, I'm starting with a mixed media background, made by adding watercolour paints to my Premium White Cardstock with a brayer. I applied the ink in several layers so as to create darker pools and greater contrast, being careful to let each layer dry before applying the next.
Once dry, I also splattered lots of gold ink and then again left to dry.
In the meantime I cut down two patterned paper panels from the B side of the HoHoHo paper.
I layered these to anchor my design, placing the photo on top. Each layer is adhered with foam, creating extra depth and dimension.
One of my favourite patterns is a bold candy stripe, so I cut a strip of Santa Supply Co paper and created a fishtail. For that extra bit of bling, I held it in place to the other paper with a gold eyelet. Really love this extra bit of detail on the page.
Next, I reached for the Element Stickers and used these to create small clusters around my photo.
To add that extra pop of festive cheer, I also added the sant a hat directly to my photo - it was a risk, but I absolutely love how this elevates the page and feel it really helps embed the photo into the layout.
As a final touch, I added some gold Nuvo Drops to the edges of the papers and sprinkled a few small snowflake stickers across the design.
I hope you've enjoyed this blog post and wish you all a very happy holiday season! Enjoy!

Simple Stories - Simple Vintage Yuletide - Seasons Greetings Tag Book
Hello everyone, and welcome back to the Papermaze blog.
It's Claire here with you today, and for this blog post, I have something slightly different.
In every Simple Stories collection, there's usually a sheet of tags, and the Simple Vintage Yuletide collection is no exception. They are exquisite!!
I was so taken with them, that this month I wanted to make a feature of them and so decided to make a tag book.
I typically have lots of photos over the festive season, but not all of them warrant a full 12x12 scrapbook page. So, I decided to make this tag book to capture some of the smaller, more intimate moments that all help to build that wonderful Christmas spirit during the holiday season.
Selecting several tags from the Tag Elements paper, I made sure to include some blank space for journaling, and some more graphical tags, as well as some that I could add extra embellishments to. As it's a festive project, I've added gold and red eyelets from my stash to each tag.
For my front cover, I kept it fairly simple. opting for one of the sentiments from the Bits & Pieces pack, offset against some small gold Nuvo Drops to add that extra touch of festive magic and sparkle.
On the reverse, I added a small photo and a sentiment from the Foam Stickers and a small star from the Sentiment Bits & Pieces.
Next, I added pockets to two tags, using a small piece of the 2x2/4x4 Elements Paper.
This was really easy to do, adhering each piece in place with strong red line tape along each outer edge. These pockets are great for holding little journaling notes, photos or gift messages from the big day. Again I embellished with some Foam Stickers and Bits & Pieces, adding red Nuvo Drops around the edge of each pocket to bring in an extra pop of colour.
The Joy and Ticket inserts are from the Bits & Pieces and Sentiments Bits & Pieces packs.
I was enjoying the interactive elements of these tags, so after making the pockets, I added a small flap to the next, enabling it to open like a book by adhering in place with red line tape. I created the flap with a strip of paper from the 4x6 Elements paper, embellishing with a fussy cut Santa from the 2x2/4x4 Elements paper and Yuletide Bits & Pieces.
Inside, you can slot extra photographs, held in place by the edge of the striped paper that folds around the tag.
To make sure I had space for journaling, I chose two plain tags, adding just a few Nuvo Drops to create a framed border and banners from the Bits & Pieces and Sentiment Bits & Pieces packs.
On the back of the 25 tag, I created a feature photo from the big day itself - tracing around the tag and adhering my photo to it - trimming the edge to make sure it fit exactly to the tag.
A few Foam Stickers was all that was needed to finish this tag as I wanted the photo to shine.
I hope you've enjoyed this blog post and it's given you some extra inspiration for how you may document those precious little moments and smaller stories that make up the joy of the season.
I'll be back later this month with some more projects with this stunning collection. In the meantime you can check it out in full here.
Until then, happy scrapping!
