The last Memorable Seasons stash-busting challenge!

Do you have a bunch of old kit or collection leftovers sitting around in your stash? If so, then this Memorable Seasons challenge is for you! It's super simple...all you need to do is use one of those old kits/collections to create a layout. If you feel up to it, snap a photo of what you have remaining in that kit/collection to share with us before you create your layout or cards.

So here's what I had left from my January kit after creating five layouts with it...

And here is my example using what was left from my January kit...

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
*Upload your creation in the gallery and link back to this forum post by January 31st!

Another Stash-Busting Challenge at Memorable Seasons!

Stickers, stickers, stickers! An "old school" supply for sure, but they keep making this classic and we keep hoarding them. So this Memorable Seasons challenge is all about using stickers...particularly one kind that I seem to have a ton of...WORD AND SENTIMENT STICKERS!! So today's challenge is for you to use a minimum of five different word and/or sentiment stickers on your project! You can cluster them like I did on my example, use them to frame a photo, make a border with them, embed them in your journaling...there are so many ways to use these types of stickers!

And here is my example using my January kit and eight word/sentiment stickers from my stash.

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.

Another Stash-Busting Challenge At Memorable Seasons!

Hi all! Today's "Get Organized!" post over at Memorable Seasons is all about small embellishments. Therefore, for this challenge, we are celebrating one of my personal favorite small embellishments - BUTTONS! Yeah, they're "old school," but I don't care. Buttons are so versatile and inexpensive! Love them! So today, your challenge is to bust through your stash and use a minimum of 10 buttons on your project

And here is my example using my January kit...

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
*Upload your creation in the gallery and link back to this forum post by January 31st!

Also, be sure to check out my post about organizing and storing all sorts of small embellishments!

Bust Out That Washi Tape!

Washi Tape. A couple years ago, I had never even heard of it. Now I have 60+ rolls of the stuff in my stash! So today's challenge over at Memorable Seasons is all about breaking out that washi tape we all covet and USE IT! My challenge for you is to use at least three different kinds of washi tape on your layout. Don't have washi tape? Then substitute with paper strips. I know we all have paper!

And here is my example using my January kit. I used five different washi tapes and even used one of them and a straight pin to create a cute little flag...

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
*Upload your creation in the gallery and link back to this forum post by January 31st!

Pull out those flowers!

Time for a stash-busting challenge over at Memorable Seasons! Okay, now I know you all have more flowers than you would ever need. So my challenge is all about flowers! I am not giving you a minimum requirement to use. I just want you to USE YOUR STASH and put more flowers than you normally would on a layout. Make those flowers noticeable!

And here is my example using my January kit. I really wanted to create a layout that showcased the Bite Sized Bits paper (Jillibean's version of the 12x12 sheet that comes with all the 3x4 cards) because it seems like every manufacturer now includes a sheet of these Project-Life-inspired cards in their collection. So I went with a clean grid style but then needed to figure out a way to include lots of flowers on the layout. And that's where the idea to do an entire rectangle covered in orange flowers came from. I lost count but there is somewhere around 30+ flowers on there!

The rules:
*Create a new layout or 2 cards for this challenge.
*Upload your creation in the gallery and link back to this forum post by January 31st!

I'm ready for spring already with my January Memorable Seasons kit!

This month for Memorable Seasons, I chose to work with Jillibean's Irish Farmhouse Soup collection....and a little Jenni Bowlin and Lily Bee mixed in for good measure!

With the holidays behind us, I am already starting to think about spring. And since we are all about cleaning out our stash, reorganizing and doing a little "spring cleaning" this month, I figured a spring-themed kit was appropriate...even in the cold of January! So I got a kit full of fun Jillibean Soup and Jenni Bowlin goodies. This kit really makes me anxious for the warmth and sunshine of spring; I love the bring colors, happy sayings and fun prints!

Here are the links to products I received (excluding the cardstock, various trims, pearls and my extras)...

The papers (I received two sheets of each except for the first sheet of Bite Size Bits)...

The backsides...

The embellishments and cardstock...

And my Lily Bee extras I bought...

And here is my first creation with the kit which is also my example for my flower stash-busting challenge...

Be sure to check out all our stash-busting challenges this month as well as our storage and organizational ideas for all your scrappy supplies. Let's all begin with a fresh start in 2014!

Project 12: May 2011 Layout

I'm back on track for Project 12. After missing the April deadline, I managed to get my May layout done in the nick of time. I adapted this sketch to fit the majority of vertical photos I had. I also chose to use a mini Bingo card as my title block rather than a circle. I love the line of flowers in the lower right corner on the sketch so I made sure to keep that element as is. Since my photos had a variety of your basic reds, blues and greens, I used this trio of colors throughout my layout. Now it's time to backtrack and complete my April layout before I move on to June. If you aren't participating in Project 12, check it out here! It's never too late to start.

Project 12: February 2011 Layout

Another month of Project 12. I am having so much fun with this challenge and I have decided that I am definitely going back to complete this project at least back to 2008. I had fun with this month's sketch. At first I wasn't quite sure how to adapt the sketch to work with my photos but I think I still managed to keep the layout well-composed and follow the sketch even with a horizontal focal photo. I knew I wanted to use red as a primary color for February because of Valentine's Day but of course not one photo is actually from Valentine's Day. So I threw in some brown, green and variety of other colors to create this upbeat layout. If you aren't participating in Project 12, check it out here! It's never too late to start.
