Santa Door Hanger

Happy Tuesday!!

I am posting on the Action Wobble blog with today's inspiration.

For my project I created a door hanger for daughter's bedroom door.  I like to add a hanger for each season to the kids' bedroom doors.  And they love it!

The inspiration for my door hanger is the Miss Kate Cuttables Design Team Call.

So, the star of the hanger is a Santa from Miss Kate Cuttables.

The layers were all cut from scrap papers in my stash.  To add some interest, I put some Frosted Lace Stickles on the brim and ball of the had, plus Wink of Stella on his beard, mustache, and hat.

I created the hanger in the Silhouette Studio software and cut it out of CTMH White Daisy cardstock.  Then I stamped the background with some small Peachy Keen Stamps

And for fun, Santa is on an action wobble!

I don't think I love this card  But I can live with it.   Especially after days of working on it.

21st Birthday Blog Hop

Welcome to Day 1 of Ashley's 21st Birthday Blog Hop!

We are so glad you could join us!

If you've come from the FABULOUS Ashley's blog, you're in the right place! If you have just come across the hop and would like to start at the beginning, please visit Ashley at Made Especially For You.

This weekend we are celebrating Ashley's 21st Birthday with some fun and creative, birthday/alcohol-themed projects! It's not 21 without a drink or two, right?!

........................................................................................................................

I am so HAPPY to be part of this hop.  I just LOVE Ashley to DEATH!!!  She is such a sweetie, and fun to talk to/be around, level headed, intelligent, with a great future ahead of her.  Geeh, do you get the idea that she is just F-A-B-U-LOUS???   She is!

When I was asked to a part of the hop, I was elated, and honored. Sparkly, pretty, and friendly comes to mind when I think of Ashley....And that was the inspiration for my creations.........

CARDS!

What is a birthday without cards???

My first card......

Isn't this little gnome a cutie?  I thought he was just adorable and since Ashley's birthday is in March, Spring and flower gardens are on everyone's mind.  And Ashley is a dear friend, so I thought a gnomie would be appropriate.

I die cut some a balloons (to match the printed background paper) and numbers for my little gnome to hold just for Ashley.
The inside says "Happy Birthday to my Gnomie!"

My second card a bit more sophisticated....

Ashley LOVES polka dots and glitter.  This card SCREAMS Ashley, doesn't it?

I used a Teresa Collins paper pad that we went in on (halved the costs), and the colors and patterns were perfect.
I used a striped pattern from the pack for the card base, and polka dot mat.

The cake stand was cut out 5 times (4 on white cardstock and 1 on patterned paper from the pad).  To coordinate the papers, I dry chalked the edges in yellow once all the layers were glued together.

The hearts and cake were spritzed with Perfect Pearl Mist.

I cut out Happy Birthday from coordinating blue cardstock and spritzed with the same Perfect Pearls mist.

First of 12 Tags for 2014

2014tags

I created my first EVER Tim Holtz inspired tag!!!!
I am so excited to share it with you.

I own several of the supplies that Tim used in his tag....but there are many that I don't.  I was a bit creative in that department.
The heart stencil is one that I do not have.  So I created my own with my Silhouette software and a Samantha Walker Silhouette file when I cut out my tag.  (I do have some Ranger tags, but they are smaller than 6 1/4" x 3 1/8".)

I also do not own any distress stains (yet), but I do have all the distress inks (and markers).  So I substituted.  I put the same colors (as the stains Tim used) of distress inks on my craft mat and misted them with water to color my tag, followed by my heat tool to dry the tag completely.
Then I washi taped my stencil to the mat sandwiching the tag in between...inked up the hearts with a tool and clear heat embossed.  I distressed the edge of the tag with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and my TH distress tool.

I tried the chalk and matte heat embossing...but I just could not get that right.  I do not have the frosted crystal embossing power that Tim used.  Maybe that is it?  The ones I have just aren't good enough for this technique....possibly?  So, I just used Distress Embossing Ink with some white embossing powder.    The stamp I used is from Tim's Stampers Anonymous set Creative Muse.

For my chipboard grunge heart, I cut out four hearts (from the same file of Samantha's) from kraft cardstock and glued them together with Glossy Accents.  The heart was inked up with Fire Brick Distress Ink.  Using glossy accents, I applied Spun Sugar Distress Glitter (as I don't own any red glitters yet).

I also do not own any industrious stickers...I improvised for this too.  I created an arrow in Silhouette and cut it from black cardstock.  To give a metal/industrial look, I added Brushed Pewter Distress Stickles.
The heart and arrow were added with foam squares, for some dimension and interest.

The lower border was also cut from black cardstock and accented with the same Distress Stickles as the arrow.  Before the Stickles were added, I used some shape scissors to the bottom edge.

I added twine in place of trimmings.

Even though I didn't have all the supplies, and I am new to some of the techniques that Tim used, I am very happy with how my tag turned out.  Now what to do with it?

Christmas Tags

Happy First Day of Winter!

We are expecting a snow storm tomorrow.  But I live in the Midwest.  It's just another day for us.  :-)

So, while I'm making my grocery and household needs list, I wanted to take a few moments to share with you some cute little tags that I created to spruce up my family's presents.

I used Scraptastical Kreations' file, Totally Christmas Squares.  I do not do 'project life' type memory books (yet).   But I love the size and dimension that this file gives for becoming tags.

I separated the part in the my Silhouette Software.  I then cut the shapes our of cardstock and patterned paper.

The stocking I added liquid applique and heated with my heat tool to give it dimension.  While the applique was still warm, I added Crystal Stickles.  I also added liquid applique to the Gingerbread man with a Peachy Keen face stamp.  The tree was simply dressed with twine from my stash.  The to/from is also a Peachy Keen Stamp.

To finish them off, I added eyelets and twine for attaching to the present.

I must say they look adorable on the gifts.

Get Inky Stamp Challenge

Happy Wednesday!

Today is my day to post on the Get Inky Stamps blog with a bit of inspiration for our current challenge which is.........

Use Buttons on a Halloween Card.

Here is my take..............

Don't you love it??  I do!!  :-D

I used Teresa Collins' new Masquerade Party Paper Collection.   The week that I created this project, Cricut also had the Teresa Collins Chic and Scary cartridge free.  I used my Cricut Craft Room and the TC cartridge to create the witch and '31.'   For the witch, I added Black Diamond Stickles.
Now for the buttons...I added two.  The orange button with a bit of twine...and if you can believe it, the spider web is a button.

To finish of the card, I used Get Inky's Halloween Stamp set for the sentiment and the witch hats.

I used Memento Tuxedo Black in to stamp the image/sentiment.  For a touch of sparkle, I traced the ink with a spica pen.

Be sure to head over to the challenge blog and link up your creation.

Happy Haunting!

Button Bonaza Blog Hop

Welcome to the Button Bonanza Blog Hop brought to you by the All that Stickles design team!

Buttons are fabulous embellishments to all types of craft projects, and what better than to spruce them up with some Stickles?!

If you have just come across the hop and are looking to start at the beginning, please visit All that Stickles! If you've come from the All that Stickles' blog, you're in the right place.

Here's my creation...............

I created a box using a file from Silhouette.  I had some fall leaf buttons that I thought were perfect for the box.

I tied a bit of twine in each button.  Then using Tombow liquid glue, I adhered them along the edge of the box.

I outlined the leaf cutout in the lid with new Burgundy Stickles.

I created the tag by outlining the leaf cutout in my Sil software.  After cutting, I layered the cutout and the shadow.  The tag was tied to the top of the box after placing some eyelets in the top and the tag for the twine placement.  I outlined the tag with Golden Rod Stickles.

Since I tend to keep EVERYTHING, I used a Peachy Keen Stamp envelope as a barrier for the cutout.  It worked perfectly!

We have blog candy for those who are a follower of All that Stickles and leave a comment on every stop of the hop! Winners will be announced Wednesday October 23rd at All that Stickles.

Red Carpet Studio

Happy Sunday!!

All that Stickles' party's theme is............

PINK!

Coincidently, Red Carpet Studio Challenge is 'Pretty in Pink"

So I combined my DT projects to fit both challenges....

I may have went a bit overboard with the pink.... tee hee hee...
But isn't it cute?

I bought the Create a Critter Cartridge for my Cricut...and when I saw the poodle, I knew I had to use her.

My granddaughter will be two in a few weeks...and I just bought her a pink shirt with a glittery poodle, saying 'Ooh La La'.

I cut the poodle out at 3 inches.  I used Fruit Punch Stickles on her fur and '2' on the balloon.  A bit of twine and.....Voila!!

Peachy Keen Stamp Challenge 13-35

Happy Wednesday!

Well, school started this week and it's been crazy around Graham Manor.
I have a high schooler who is on the dance team, first year homeschooling a Kindergartener and Second Grader, and to top off the beginning of the week, I took the 3 year old for his annual physical, only to discover a pistachio up his right nostril.

With that type of week, I am finally getting to show you my Peachy Keen Challenge creation.

This week's challenge is a photo inspiration........

Here's my creation..................

I have only make one other tag in my crafty life.  :-)   I LOVE this one.

I took plain manilla tag and inked with distress inks.  Then, I took a peachy background stamp (PK-624), stamped with Versamark and embossed with a clear powder.  While the powder was still warm, I added some dry Star Dust Stickles.

I popped a few ghosts from the PK-131 stamp set.  The sentiment is from the same set, stamped in Memento Ink (Tuxedo Black).

A bit of twine and pearls.....  Fin!

Think this little cutie will be sent in a care package to my BEAUTIFUL granddaughter this Halloween.

I made...

My layout was inspired by the movie "Rise of the Guardians" and the Walt Disney Company.
My kids LOVE the yetis in the "Rise of the Guardians."  And we are planning a trip to Walt Disney World and one of our favorite parks is Animal Kingdom..which is inhabited by the Yeti of the Himalayas.

I used the Bigfoot Cutting files from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  I did mold him into more a Yeti, than a bigfoot for my project.

To make the mountains more frosty, I applied Rock Candy Distress Stickles.

And I added Pine and Eucalyptus Stickles to the trees for a bit of dimension.
