Wednesday Stash Challenge!!

Cheryl here with you today!

Welcome to Wednesday Stash! Today, I used some old Webster's Pages patterned paper and did some fussy cutting to come up with this card.

I started out with this polka dotted patterned paper and added a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece to the front of my card base.

Here's the other piece of WP patterned paper I used.

Next, I fussy cut the cute little jars out

and added them to my card with pop dots.

{Before I added the jars, I used double sided tape and added the lace.}

I hope I've inspired you to use up your stash.

Monday Sketch Challenge!!

We have a Guest Designer joining us today for our Monday Sketch Challenge!!

Hello, my name is Brenshevia and I am the mother of two and the grandmother of three. As you will see, my grand babies are the primary subject of my pages, I LOVE scrapping those faces! I have been scrapping since 2007 and it’s my favorite way to relax. I am not sure I have a “style” per se but I do tend to love shabby chic and clean and simple more so than any other. Most times I let the photo dictate my style.
I am currently admin and founder of About a Boy, About a Girl, Let’s Get Sketchy and Colorful Creations. Yes I am a glutton for punishment. lol I love scrapping as you can see!
Please stop by any of my online scrapbooking. There you will find a wonderful group of ladies and a ton of great challenges to help you become inspired. Again, thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day!

Here is the sketch Brenshevia has to share with us:

and she made an amazing sample page using her sketch to inspire us.

You have all month to play along.. make 1 Layout or 2 cards, or 2 tags or 2 ATC's using the sketch.

Join us over at Turtle Soup to play along!

Can't wait to see what you create and I am sure Brenshevia will appreciate seeing your projects too.

Friday Inspiration Challenge

It's Sher here.  Welcome to my very first Friday Inspiration Post. I hope it will inspire you and you will want to play along.

Click the link to go to the Splitcoast Stampers tutorial to help you if you have never made one before. It is a lot of fun, give it a try.

I decided to do an ornament instead of a card, but you can make whatever you would like, as long as its a shaker. You have all month long to enter.

Scraplift Thursday!!

It's Stacey with you today for Scraplift Thursday!

So today is Independence Day in the US! I love this day. Only because it is the Watermelon Festival here!!! It is also our day to celebrate our freedom and independence. With these 2 things going on around here, I have a fun challenge for you.

Since this is the first Scraplift Challenge, I want to make it a fun one for everyone. So here it is....

I want you to find a project in the Gallery that inspires you, but here's the twist.....The project you pick cannot be a "summer" project. I want you to scrap those fun summer pics whether they are beach pics, watermelon, or just fun in the sun pics.

Here is my inspiration page:

And my take on it...

Wednesday Stash Challenge!!

Good Morning and welcome to our first Wednesday Stash Challenge.  It's Tracy with you today!

It's been a while since vellum was popular but I've been seeing it on layouts lately. So my challenge to you is to dig in your stash, pull out some vellum and use it somewhere on your project. You can use a little or a lot, stamp on it, punch it, journal on it or whatever you'd like! I punched some vellum and used it as a border on my layout and also found a sentiment that was printed on vellum.

So let's see some vellum!

You have all month to complete your project. You also have the option of doing either 1 Layout, 2 Cards or 2 Tags or 2 ATC's.

Tuesday TTT (Tools, Techniques, Tips)!!

Hi Bev here today for Tuesday TTT to share some tips with tutorial on how to make this cool but easy card.

The card above was used as inspiration to make my card below. It was from Pinterest and The Little Blue House

Created by Bev Code

It didn't come with full instructions so here are my tips/ tutorial on how to make my card below with some alterations.

The card base is 5x5" folded.
Use 4 1/2 x 4 1/2" accent cardstock base.
Cut 4 1/2 x 4 1/2" blocks the same and use double sided paper - cut x2

I didn't twist or angle mine like the sample but you can.

Glue the accent cardstock onto card base centering it.

Fold the other 2 pieces into quarters and slice almost all the way to centre (1/2" out from centre core) on the curled piece and almost to centre on the folded piece.

On one, roll a pencil at the corners to roll the edges.

On the other fold flat to meet in the centre.

Glue the rolled one down first putting glue only through the centre section of the 4 wings.

Now glue the folded down piece inside the rolled ones.

Add button, brad or gemstone centre or any accent you have.

Close up below shows side view of the depth of the layers.

You have all month to complete your project. You also have the option of doing either 1 Layout (you can make a smaller version of this and put as an accent on a layout), 2 Cards or 2 Tags or 2 ATC's (using even smaller versions of them).

Join us at Turtle Soup to share your creations.

More for the 1st Sketch Challenge

The great thing about sketches is you can use them to inspire you in any way you feel like.  Layout sketches become card inspiration and vice versa!!

Some of the team took this first layout sketch and used it to create cards and ATCs.  This makes your sketches all the more useful!!
