Tone on Tone stamping

Hello! I challenged myself to make a card in 10 minutes today, and here it is. I used my new Pale Tomato Hero Arts Shadow Ink to stamp the pretty Paisley Background from PinkByDesign. I stamped it on Berry Sorbet cardstock from PaperTreyInk for a tone on tone look.
I white heat embossed this fabulous greeting from the Our Mothers set from PinkByDesign. This is a really simple card, but I dig how it turned out. And I definitely made my 10 minute deadline! :)

PinkByDesign has a new stamp release and will be celebrating with a Ustream event tonight! YAY

Party starts at
5:30 Pacific
6:30 Mountain
7:30 Central
8:30 Eastern

My heart bubbles over for you

Hello! I had fun making this simple card with PinkByDesign stamps. I stamped the beaker from the Radioactive set. The hearts and sentiment are from the Mad Scientist set from PinkByDesign. I colored them in and used a spica glitter marker for sparkle.
I covered the beaker with glossy accents so it looks like glass. The cardstock and ribbon are from PaperTreyInk

I hope you've had a lovely weekend!

She has a fabulous new job, and I wish her the absolute best of luck! For my card I paper pieced the adorable Smartie The Owl. I just love this owl so much! Her face is from the Critter Faces Medium set. I added my favorite rock candy stickles to her tummy...
The sentiment is from the You're A Hoot set from PinkByDesign.

Dear Angelica- I want to thank you for, well, everything! :) But mostly I will be forever grateful to you for getting me addicted to paper piecing! Seriously though, I want to wish you well in your new endeavors. As we say in the Navy...Fair winds and following seas. ♥ Nikki

Someone like you...

Hello! I made this card to enter in the Ink It Pink challenge. The challenge is to use cool colors {blues, greens, and violets}. I heat embossed the Circles Background from PinkByDesign with white embossing powder. I colored it with shabby shutters, tumbled glass, and milled lavender distress markers. I then sprayed it with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister for shine. I colored the hearts with the same markers and misted them with perfect pearls too.
I added glossy accents to the hearts. The sentiment is from the 29 and Holding set from PinkByDesign.

Sparkle Stamping

Hello! I had lots of fun playing with stamps today. :) I tried out a new technique, and I just love how it turned out! It's really easy to do {I promise}. I swiped 3 lines of distress inks onto my craft sheet. First picked raspberry... Then worn lipstick under that, and then picked raspberry again. I then sprayed my "palette" with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister. This becomes your "ink pad". Then I just wiggled my Lotus Background stamp around a little in it to blend the colors. And then stamp, and voila...you have stamped with sparkle! Oh how I adore perfect pearls! I really wish the photos did the sparkly goodness justice ;) If you look closely, you can see it here...
It is really cool in real life. I stamped the Heart Owls from Hero Arts twice so I could paper piece them. Aren't they sweet?! I used the Friend Definition background stamp for the strip behind the owls. And the adorable sentiment is from the You're A Hoot set from PinkByDesign.

I hope you've had a fabulous weekend! I'm so happy it's awesome TV night! I ♥ Sunday night! Big Brother, True Blood, Breaking Bad, and Weeds! Yeah! :)

PDB Challenge 8

Challenge 8 over at PinkByDesign is to make something with ribbon or bows. Well this was perfect for me because my friend Shar sent me some ribbon scraps in a box she mailed me. Thanks Shar! :) I made a patterned strip using her scraps {and some of mine}. What a great way to use up your ribbon!
That fabulous sentiment is from the 29 and Holding set from PinkByDesign

The sentiment is also from the Boughs Of  Holly set.

Pizza boxes and a card :)

Hiya! A few weeks ago Sarah a.k.a. Pink Cricut made some cute little "pizza boxes" during her Ustream and I finally made some too. {took me long enough! HA} You can see her video HERE with super easy instructions. The boxes end up being 4 inches square and an inch deep. For this set I used scraps from one of my all time favorite paper pads called Madeline by Prima. SO PRETTY I can't stand to waste even a smidgen of it! I glued lots of scraps into a  strip for this card...
The greeting is from a set from Paper Trey Ink. I stamped it onto the Real Estate Sign punch. I used my i-rock imaginisce tool to add all the bling. And here is the matching box...
The cute ticket and sentiment are from the Just The Ticket set from PinkByDesign. And since I was in the box making mood, I decided to make a Christmas one.
For this one I stamped the cute polar bears from the Beary Merry Christmas set from PinkByDesign. Aren't they just adorable?!
I added glossy accents to their eyes, noses, and the sign. These boxes take just minutes to make! ♥ em!

You're a scream!

Hello! I felt like stamping this morning, so I did. :) I used 4 different sets from PinkByDesign. First I made the ice cream from the Sweet Summer set using berrylicious and lime pastel colorbox fluid chalk inks and a technique called "kissing". To do this technique you ink up the solid image {the ice cream} and "kiss" it to another stamp. I used the Tiny Dots background stamp from PinkByDesign. By "kissing" the inked solid stamp to the NON inked Tiny Dots stamp, it removes ink from the solid stamp and leaves dots behind! Cool, huh?!
For the background I used my distress markers in worn lipstick and shabby shutters to color the dots on the Bubbly Background stamp from PinkByDesign. Before I stamped it, I sprayed the stamp with perfect pearls and water in a mini mister so it would look kinda melty and marbled. I swear it looks cool in real life. And to finish, I added the sentiment from the Animated Greetings set.  Get it? Scream? Hahaha I crack me up! ;)        OH I forgot to mention that I used pumice stone distress ink for the cone from the Sweet Summer set. I stamped it off once to lighten the color before stamping on kraft.

Sorry the photos are kinda horrible, it's still really dark here from TS Debby.

You feel like home to me

Hiya bloggy friends! For this card I used the adorable Neighborhood stamp from MarketStreetStamps. The cutest 3 little houses ever! :) I paper pieced them with paper from the Hello Summer collection by Echo Park. I also used that paper for the 3 little hearts at the bottom there were stamped from the Follow Your Heart set from MarketStreetStamps. I used 2 different embossing folders on the front of the card {I think they're from quickutz}.
I put some glossy accents on the hearts. The perfect sentiment is from the Home Sweet Home set from PinkByDesign

And now, totally unrelated to crafting...I just have to say how excited I am for the new season of Teen Mom tonight!!! I just ♥ that show! :) Total guilty pleasure!

Out of difficulties grow miracles

Hiya! I had lots of fun playing with my new distress markers on this card. I stamped the Roses Background stamp from PinkByDesign with embossing ink and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. The embossing is key here because it creates little "pools" for think ink so the colors don't bleed together. I used spun sugar and worn lipstick distress markers for the roses and shabby shutters and crushed olive for the leaves. I just quickly scribbled on the colors and used a paintbrush and perfect pearls mixed with water to blend out the colors. I swear there is more contrast in person.
I wish the shine showed up better. Oh, I forgot to mention that I used tumbled glass ink for the blue background. I white heat embossed the sentiment from the Believe in Yourself  set also from PinkByDesign. I did it on vellum because I just couldn't stand to cover up that gorges Roses Background! I just ♥ that background!

We make a great pear

Hello and happy Saturday evening to you! Tonight we are partying over on the PeachyKeen Connection to celebrate the new release {that is now available for purchase}. Please join us HERE for challenges and FUN! :) I made this card for the Challenge #1. The challenge is to create something using 2 or more pieces of fruit. I stamped the NEW Picnic Tablecloth Background and clear embossed it. I inked it with shabby shutters and crushed olive distress inks. I stamped the pears from the Faceless Fruit set a few times so I could quickly color them with my blending tool and distress inks. I then paper pieced them back together. The faces are from the NEW May 2012 stamp kit of the month set. SO CUTE! :)
The sentiment is from the Be Mine set from PinkByDesign. I cut it apart to make it longer. :)

Ok...scoot over to the PeachyKeen Connection and play along with us!!!

Just Sea-Horsin' Around

Hello and happy Monday! For my card today I stamped the Loopy Loo Polkas background from MarketStreetStamps with embossing ink and heat embossed with white powder. This stamp reminds me of bubbles, so I wanted to make it water like. I layered on distress inks in tumbled glass and broken china and added just a little bit of shabby shutters {green} to make it more oceany. I stamped the adorable seahorse from the Under The Sea set {also from MarketStreetStamps} a few times so I could paper piece her. I used paper from the Graceful collection by Echo Park.
The sentiment is from the Crikey set by PinkByDesign. The Crikey set is super cute and is only $8.99!!! Super fabulous deal! ;)

I hope you have a FABULOUS day!

Game On

Hiya! Today I played with some PinkByDesign stamps while I was watching my Cubs win. :) I stamped the Crazy Daisy background and white heat embossed it. I did miss some spots because I need to re-juicify my embossing ink pad. ;) I inked it up with Festive Berries distress ink. Then I stamped the cute little game from the LOL stamp set from PinkByDesign a few times so I could paper piece it. I stamped the game on sentiment which is also from the LOL set. I added glossy accents to make the screen shine.
See, shiny screen. :) This LOL set is great for boys or teens. Oh, I used my silver sakura pen to add "metal" accents to the little gameboy. Both of the stamp sets I used are in the new clearance section over at the PinkByDesign store...only $6.99!!!

You COLOR my world!

So I guess today is play with MarketStreetStamps background stamps day in Nikki-ville!!! :) For this redonkulously simple card I stamped the Argyle background stamp with Tim Holtz embossing ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder on white cardstock. {you could use white powder here}...There are 7 rows on this stamp and I cut evenly between the rows to get strips to ink. I kept row 4 to use as a spacer to add my sentiment. I inked with the following distress colors...barn door, spiced marmalade, mustard seed, shabby shutters, broken china, milled lavender, and a smidgen of seedless preserves. Now, my embossing didn't end up perfect cuz I need new powder BUT I still love how this turned out!
This is a full A2 sized card. Like I said in my post earlier today, MarketStreetStamps backgrounds really DO COVER the front of an A2 card. ♥ ♥ ♥ The sentiment is from the Simply Everything set from PinkByDesign. It fit this card just perfectly! :) love when that happens!

Ok, I swear I'm done posting today...heheehehe

♥ Nikki ♥

p.s. Did you see my other card today??? scroll down :)
