Ελπίζω να περάσατε όλοι πολύ όμορφα το Σαββατοκύριακο.

Μια νέα εβδομάδα ξεκινά και η νέα μας πρόκληση είναι αφιερωμένη στο μαγικό κόσμο των βιβλίων.

Σήμερα έχουμε στην δημιουργική παρέα του Scraps N Pieces, την νικήτρια της τυχαίας κλήρωσης της χριστουγεννιάτικης πρόκλησης. Το στυλ της είναι vintage, grunge, steampunk και της αρέσουν πολύ οι μεικτές τεχνικές και τα art/junk journals.

Υποδεχόμαστε την ταλαντούχα Cathy Frailey,  που εμπνεύστηκε από το θέμα μας και δημιούργησε ένα υπέροχο διακοσμητικό βιβλίο.

Hello everyone!  I'm so honored to be here as a guest designer!  I love mixed media, art/junk journaling, & upcycling. I use everything from cardboard boxes to utensils to cans & bottles - nothing gets wasted! My style is grungy, vintage, steampunk, odd - I like weird & different & experimenting but can incorporate any style! I'm a DT member for numerous groups and have my own challenge blog so I get lots of opportunities to play and experiment! 

This month's mood board is so much fun - full of whimsy and magic! As soon as I saw it, I knew exactly what I was going to do: an altered book!

For the project I used a patterned paper pad. I did a 3D fairy on the front with foam squares and added lacquer to her wings. I also had some wooden fairies that I incorporated. I used some items from the patterned paper as well so don't throw that page out! And jewels and glitter are a must!

The real treat is inside!

I carved the inside in a rough manner and put various elements between the pages, that I fussy cut from the patterned paper! I also used Art Alchemy waxes on both the inside and outside for fabulous shimmer! And plastic, mirrored stars was an added bonus. So many fun little things to look at throughout and lots of different types of embellishments!

Μια καινούρια πρόκληση ξεκινά σήμερα και το θέμα της είναι ο φανταστικός κόσμος των βιβλίων.

Παλιά ή καινούρια, μεγάλα ή μικρά διηγήματα, μυθιστορήματα, ιστορικά, ρομαντικά, φανταστικά….απλά σκεφτείτε για μια στιγμή πόσα επίθετα μπορείτε να χρησιμοποιήσετε για να περιγράψετε ένα βιβλίο. Αυτό από μόνο του, μαρτυρά το μεγαλείο τους!

A new challenge starts today, and this time it’s all about the magical world of books!

Old and new, big or small, novels, fairy tales, historical, romantic, fascinating…just think of how many adjectives you can use to describe them. Well, that alone tells us how glorious books are!

Την αρχή αυτή τη φορά κάνει η υπέροχη mixed media designer, Maria Lillepruun, που δημιούργησε ένα μοναδικό notebook με πολλή δόση vintage και μυστηρίου.

Today our wonderful mixed media designer, Maria Lillepruun, is presenting us a fabulous vintage notebook that she created from scratch. I’m sure you’ll LOVE IT!

Hello friends!

I was totally inspired by this new mood board, and decided to create something vintage and mystical, at the same time, using the color scheme and the elements from the board. The notebook is in size A5 and the cover is made from scratch. This time I played it hard and used tons of mixed media materials :) It took me several days to create the notebook because I just couldn't stop until I was completely satisfied with it. But it was a very pleasing creative process.

As a base for the cover I used pieces of cardstock. First, I applied black gesso, and then a combination of texture paste, sand paste,crackle texture paste. To color it, I used acrylic paints, alcohol inks and crackle varnish. I also did some stamping. The front cover is decorated with patternedpaper, metallic embellishments, chipboard, beads, brads, and textile hydrangea flowers.

The inside covers are decorated with patterned paper by 7 Dots Studio. Their "Garden Party" collection suits our mood board 100 % :) Plus, I did some stamping and used a single 19th Century biology book page that I had kept on my shelf for ages.
