Kwame Kilpatrick: Name that party

By Donald Sensing

BREAKING NEWS: Judge Sends Detroit Mayor To Jail:

DETROIT -- Judge Ronald Giles sent Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to Wayne County Jail for failing to notify the court of his trip to Canada and violating the terms of his bond.
What is the party affiliation of Mayor Kilpatrick? The long story never mentions it, meaning that no answer is the answer.

There's rumors that this is somehow linked to Obama: http://www.digitalfuntown.com/videos/97

Well, it's obvious, isn't it? He's a member of the "party that must not be named!"

Of course.

Los Angeles' 24-hour news station KFWB played the West Coast version of the game.

"Give us just twenty two minutes, and we'll give you the world." (Or as much of it as they are willing to divulge.)

OK, I'll guess first--is he a Beach Blanket Bingo Party?

I was born in the City of Detroit and have lived in or nearby the city for more than 60 years . . . .

The office of Mayor is, offically, non-partisan and so it seems appropriate for the press to not impute a party.

At the same time, Kilpatrick was a state legislator; he ran and was elected as a Democrat. For what it's worth, his mother, Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick is a Democrat U.S. Representative representing a portion of Detroit and several suburbs.

Hope that helps.

Best quote I heard from this one is he was hoping to get out of jail soon enough to attend the Obama fundraiser he was hosting. It would be funny, if it was not so sad.
