I'll show you mine...

Kate and I were talking about 'doing something' with the blocks we've swapped using African fabrics. I was hoping to put some of mine together for a quilt.

On Kate's blog you can see her blocks and here you can see mine...

I started making blocks with another friend so there are a few other's to Kates...
(The 'sun' one with the orange background has been made by Donna)

Then there are a few that I have made using Carol Doak's free patterns from her website and her group BOM's.
BTW Carol has just started a blog, you can visit her here! (I haven't had a chance yet, but will do soon!!)

Then there were blocks that have been made 'just because' for Kate and I...

I seem to have quite a few so it was difficult to take a picture of them altogether (plus I'm using DH's computer so I don't know how to crop the toys out *LOL*). I'm thinking I may make a quilt using most of them, but we'll see how it goes... I hope to keep making them because they are fun to do...

I'm still waiting for a new charger, but I am being 'allowed' to occassionally check email on DH's computer when he takes a break from setting up a website for our self-catering holiday home on Thesen Island in South Africa, you can check his hard work out by clicking here.

Wow for your African blocks!
I’ve been visiting all the links and downloaded some Carol Doak’s patterns.

What do you use when making a foundation pieced block? Foundation paper or wash-away foundation? I read about it on a blog the other day.

The website your husband made is great! I love your self-catering holiday home and nature and food and... oh my, I guess it’s like paradise over there!

These blocks look fabulous! They're all so busy that they complement each other perfectly! (Glad I don't have to choose how to border them!)

your blocks look fantastic. I adore them. Can't wait to see the finished product! I am itching to sew...but like you, just now with moving, so little time. Is Theisen island near Plett?

Your blocks are great so unusual!
Just been looking at your DH's website. He's done a great job. Websites from scratch are always so labour intensive..and time consuming! Looks like a wonderful holiday destination.

Love the quilt blocks, they look great.

Your husband's website looks great too. Beautiful views, but then it's hard not to see beautiful views in Knysna! If you ever want free web-building and free hosting let me know and I'll hook you up for the mob I work for.

My family thinks my 'dream trip' should be Africa since I have such a passion for Africa color and design...

Keep an eye on these blocks. I can imagine them in my house... (grin)

Your African blocks are stunning - the textures, the colors -- I just want to run my hands all over it. Absolutely beautiful -- are you using it for a blanket or a wallhanging? If a wall hanging -- some beads throughout would be nice -- so would some beads along the bottom edge if hanging. It is a wonderful quilt!
