Some Gold & Code Contest Update
Bernie's Bash Brothers. Love it. I love both you guys equally, but not as much as I'd love having a rotation and bullpen . . . but also not as much as I love the trade I pulled off with Chris at Nachos Grande. You can see the relics I sent his way from the 2010 A&G set. If you've got some lying around that you'd like to deal for cards you'd enjoy more, I'd encourage you to look at his want list. Chris is one of the easiest guys out there to trade with and his list is always filled with potential trade fits. Check it out.
I'd still love to trade for any other 2010 Brewers gold parallels. Let me know if you've got something.
Now for a little code contest update. Last time I put up a code contest, I had a lot better idea who was working on it, and what they had managed to figure out. This time, I know nothing. Which is fine. Just know that I'll be using a sliding scale for determining the prize. Maybe it will slide all the way up to that 1951 Topps Blue Back Johnny Mize card. Anyone find any interesting things in the code yet?

Trade With Kelly At Baseball Obsession-itis
![](http://library.vu.edu.pk/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi/000100A/https/blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglAcbeBXw9OUXL3hRBp6k2TCZWCU6SlkUiDKbM6Nygm_sypHE8P6JwR72dNTRgscJoKhpGSVMKb-PhFYcvQ9qtiYCo8uR5eaIPn87IcDPuA3cwYZ6bTIyDmLV1zcIjcufRhoUQJ8KeLH0/s400/Cards+019.jpg)
One of those mutually beneficial trades. Kelly had some of the 2009 U&H lying around that I needed, and I had a little of the same, along with some 2009 A&G to knock of her lists.
There's still more damage to be done on those lists, so if you have a minute, swing by and check those out. It's all nicely Google doc'd so you can come back to it later.
I pictured my favorite card from the trade. Looks like something that should be over at Play at the Plate!
On an unrelated tangent - hmm I think that's redundant, ah well - I did another 2010 A&G Blaster Pack Break to try and prove or disprove JD's Wild Theory. More on that in the AM. Now for some night time baseball action, oh wait, it's all on TBS so I can't see it. Shame!

Trade With Ryan from "O" No!!! Another Orioles Blog
Thankfully my little code challenge gave me some time to refocus on cards for a bit, and Ryan from "O" No!!! Another Orioles Blog hit me up with a trade offer.
This was one of my favs from the bunch:

I want to say he knocked about 100 cards off my 2009 Topps Series 2 and U&H wantlists. He took so many cards off this is all I have left from 2009 Topps:
Series 1: 192
Series 2: 484, 500, 537
U&H: 1, 7, 13, 17, 20, 41, 48, 49, 68, 70, 76, 89, 98, 107, 109, 117, 119, 152, 155, 167, 176, 183, 184, 201, 206, 211, 223, 242, 247, 253, 255, 256, 260, 261, 276, 282, 289, 293, 324, 330
Ryan, thanks for the trade. I hope the 1983 Jim Palmer treats you well. Glad to knock something off your Top 10 Most Wanted. Check out Ryan's other Top 10s. I'm guessing some of you might have what he's looking for.

Trade With Baseball Dad
![](http://library.vu.edu.pk/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi/000100A/https/blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj7o32egQTfKup0QZVJFS4yp_iK6-fKUSTj4qLohiRj2_BdTA_M6oi4z3u6crnM10b3FckVMWZkKWpyl0nBFuZcJRManwbs4jjP-WmnpqokNboMJZmipFZUfTRKD4SiyatG3iYIa_3n1cY/s400/trade.jpg)
Very surprised and excited that someone was following my estate sale finds which included a group of 1993 Topps Stadium Club master photos. I was informed by a reader that these were done as a mail-in redemption that year.
Baseball Dad over at All Tribe Baseball offered up a deal I couldn't refuse. In exchange for the Mark McGwire he'd send me a Will Clark. Done!
Welcome home Will, we've been waiting for you. I also netted a few other Clark cards in the deal and hopefully I'll have a chance to scan and post those as well. McGwire should show up in Ohio today along with a couple of friends I packaged up.

Deal Finalized With The Troll
![](http://library.vu.edu.pk/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi/000100A/https/blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHJ2Q-3uie5jq4pko-urI-0rYyUHuWk64SAHGxHMwCjJEoW_rmG_IOHKWGmJELsAjo3aUS0TFhGFA6zN6HQvp39aSvifB9fArjtniVJJkgtDrqGyEZVo4N-kCba15rxyRz-0Hrp5b6iUI/s320/3DPalmer.jpg)
Let me start with some words of wisdom: Never try to finalize trades when you're over tired after being on the road for a week.
I say this because right now I'm praying to baby Jesus that the Troll gets the cards I told him I was sending.
Speaking of Baby Jesus, Troll sent me one of his cards for my collection.
![](http://library.vu.edu.pk/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi/000100A/https/blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAb246rBIQH1ZNGjFxd-8apKlsRnwKOFZ2twajsXy2PpDapjs7HYj1mbrK89Yofq2-snLfsCEo6uxmsl0cga2UIihXscpOQ0hPXy17WddUy3o165UX8zFZfyKK_nwJEFhz6rfVc23G7GM/s320/AGMauer.jpg)
Which is good, because I jettisoned most (all?) of my A&G cards this year. Speaking of, anyone who speaks up can get a pile of about 100 minis. I need to move them out, all in one fell swoop. No time to work out individual trades. So if someone out there wants a nice stack, just say the word, shoot me an email, leave me a comment, and send me your address. They're yours.
Wow, that sure was a digression if I ever saw one. How about that first card, you know the one that you saw when you first landed here. That's some sort of 1970s (1972?) 3D card of Jim Palmer. This predates my original SportFlix cards from the 80s or 90s or something like that. Anyhow, what I love about this Palmer card is that I'd never known it existed if not for the fact that it arrived in my mailbox. To the Troll I offer my sincere thanks.
Both of the cards shown above were some nice throw-in to our original deal. Originally I was asking about the Topps Legends of the Game inserts, and he came through with some of these for me as well.

I just realized this week that I have no idea how many of these cards exist, why the numbering is different on some (LLG vs. LG-something), or why some are different colors. As always, please feel free to enlighten me. But first, to close, 2 more of these wonderful cards.
![](http://library.vu.edu.pk/cgi-bin/nph-proxy.cgi/000100A/https/blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmlR6yzkjUmuqGMb2C97PYY7-GkGag4dB5S0tI0EWvagCxn4zTdDxHSNmTzpTCC4R9Fj59Y5a35hdKAk9VirC7v4u1upI0c293PQiQZttibYCStcADCdVNl9N3ann2EVYbi3gXl5oafV8/s320/lotg2.jpg)
PS - Thanks for also knocking off a nice chunk of my 2009 Topps U&H and Series 2 needs which can be found over in the sidebar.

If I Do Nothing Else Today . . . Trade With Democratic Roadkill
It's going to be posting my trade with Duane from Democratic Roadkill.
I sent Duane 9 A&G Code Cards from my failed attempt at the code this summer. Silly me, I thought I'd need the actual cards to pull it off, so I started pulling together some of the cards that were deemed important. Well my folly is Duane's gain. In addition to those code cards I sent over a pair of Goudey base cards to help him complete his set, a pair of A&G back 09 minis, and a pair of regular back A&G 09 minis. One of which was The Mick, who I still needed for my mini set, but I was happy to oblige Duane being that he pulled together some much needed Goudeys for me.
Here was the haul. To start, we've got 3 Goudey Heads Up cards that I needed for my set, plus 6 4-in-1s. I really do enjoy the Heads Up cards. I think the design is neat with the various stats or nicknames plastered all over the front of the card. I'm also digging the Yount and Fielder (and Schmidt and Howard) card. All Fielder needs to do is win an MVP this year and we can call that an MVP card.

There were 6 more 4-in-1s needed for my set:

And finally, for some reason, Duane had the Bill Hall Goudey Graph. Very recently I had a $1 bid rejected on eBay and I felt sad about that. I shall feel sad NO MORE. I've not got the Gallardo, Hall, and Gamel Goudey Graphs. Still yet unaccounted for are JJ Hardy and Prince Fielder. If you see either of these Goudey Graphs, please let me know.

Also, I'd be willing to take on, via trade, any Goudey Graphs you just don't want to hold onto. Even Wade LeBlanc ;)
