On the 9th Day of Christmas

Today it is my turn you show you something during this fun 12 days of Christmas. I've made a tutorial for you of a book card.
You need:
- cardstock
- design paper
- scoring board
- border punch
- ribbon
For the book inside you need 4 pieces of cardstock. 2 of 24x12 cm (9.46x4.93 inch) and 2 of 24x14,5 cm (9.46x5.71 inch).

For the card you need a piece of cardstock of 15x29,4 cm (5.91x11.58 inch).
Score at 13,7 and 15,7 cm (5.4 and 6.19 inch).

Score the 4 pieces of cardstock at every 2 cm (0.79 inch). Make a decorative edge at the end of every strip with a border punch.

Fold the strips like an accordion. Make sure that every fold is straight!

If you want you can ink the edges.
Now comes the hard part. That is putting it together.

Stick a short strip and a long strip together. Make sure that the long strip is on top.

Glue the short side on top and then the long side.

Also glue the back side together.

Do this with the other 2 strips and then put the 2 parts together so you get a frame.
Front
Back

Before you put the in the card you glue the ribbon on the insides of the card.

Now you decorate the inside of the card with design paper and glue the frame in the card.

Now just decorate the bookcard and you're finished.

Today with our tutorial we are also giving you this set of "To: From" sentiments.  These sentiments will be available for download from now through December 12th.  Remember...sharing freebies is not allowed, but please do send your friends to our blog to get their freebies.

Spotlight On...

...Easter

I love making special little crafts for holidays.  The kids always look forward to the special little things that I make.  Hopefully they look back on holidays and remember those special touches.  So Darlene's Candy Bar holder using our Easter Bunny digi stamp is definitely on  my list of things to make.  Of course this candy bar holder would be wonderful for any holiday or even birthday.

Darlene has some wonderful instructions at her blog on how to make these fun candy bar holders.

Tutorial Tuesday - Box in a bag

Today it's Tutorial Tuesday again at Shelly's, and I surfed down the internet to find a nice box for you to make, cause I bet you all know right now, I love Boxes and special fold Cards!!!

Supplies: Cardstock 4,5 x 4,5
Desingner Paper 5,5 x 11
Tape
Strip of Cardstock 1 x 11
Scallop Punch
Tab
Ribbon

Take the Cardstock 4,5 x 4,5 inch and score at 1 inch all around

Cut on the lines as shown and glue or tape your box together.

Take your Designer Paper and put tape on the bottem and and up one side of the back of the background paper.

Now peel of the tape an lay your box along the bottem edge of the DP so they are even withe each other, start about half way on the side of the box and go around.

Take your strip of Cardstock 1 x 11 inch and your Scallop Punch, after punching put on some tape and wrap it around as the picture shows.

If you have a tab use it, I don't, so I took a nestabilitie to make a circle.

Put 2 tabs or folded circles at the front and the back of the Box (in the middle ofcourse) and punch a hole in it.

Now the final step, take your ribbon and put the box together, after you filled it up with some nice treats.

I hope you all have a lot of fun making this Box, I put mine togehter in less than half an hour, so if you need a quick present, this is perfect Box to make.

TECHNIQUE TUESDAY - Box Tutorial

Technique Tuesday!

Hello to all of you. This Tuesday it's time to wrap it up! I myself love making boxes, and then of course put a little treat in them. So I want to show you how to make a simple and quick box. You don't need much, only a piece of cardstock 6 by 11 inch, the scorpal and some tape or glue.

Put your cardstock on the scorpal this way.

Score at the long side at 1, 5, 6 and 10 inch, turn the paper and score at 1 and 5 inch.

Then cut all the lines till the first scoreline as shown above

Put some tape or glue on all the corners and put your box together.

I love dressing up my box with papers, flowers, brads and ribbons but it is not a must. And voila you have a nice little pizzabox, you can put in some sweets or a little gift.

And when I'm totally funky I dress up the innerside too.

I hope it's clear to you how to make this box, I hope you enjoyed it!  Please leave us a comment to let us know that you enjoyed today's tutorial.

Freebie Friday

Good Morning everyone! I hope you've had an awesome week and are ready for a nice, relaxing weekend! I know I am!

As I mentioned earlier this week, we have a special treat for you here at Shelly's Images! Here is you FREE Shelly's Images Template! Below is my sample of what you can make with the template!

All of the instructions as well as the printable template are below. We hope you like it! Don't forget...it is also PERFECT for this weeks TTT Challenge!

Step 1: Print out the template below. There are no adjustments needed - the template is easily printed on a standard 8.5" by 11" sheet of cardstock! Cut out along the SOLID lines. Score along the DOTTED lines.

Step 2: Using your favorite punch or diecut, punch out a window on the panel that is marked with the Shelly's Images watermark.

Step 3: Using your favorite double stick tape or glue, place a piece of acetate on the inside edge of your box. (Note: All lines are on the inside of your box template.)

Step 4: Using a strong adhesive (I used Red Line Tape) adhere the box side. Fold the bottom flaps and tuck tab in. Fill box and close top as desired.
