Great short film I had a chance to work on, Paperman, is opening up Annecy this year. If you have a chance to go there, don't miss it! I was lucky to work with John Kahrs who directed the film, Jeff Turley who art directed it, and Patrick Osborne who was the animation supervisor~ Also wanted to mention the amazing work done by Hyunmin and Sarah Airess (hand-drawn leads), who were responsible for the final look of the characters!! These were the early visdev pieces that were done at the start of production, one of the pieces has a George drawing that was done by Tom Gatley, amazing character designer at pixar. Tom's work on the film, Earl Oliver Hurst, Hardie Gramatky (and many artists of the 1940s California Watercolor Society), Milt Kahl, Saxon, and Searle inspired me a lot to find the tone for these pieces.

testing out TVPaint brush engine.. trying to get a similar brush with the one I have in photoshop.. The thing that annoys me is that there isn't a way to control the size of the grain in pencil mode.. and it also has some semi opaque marks .. anyone out there know where I could get a good croquil ink pen for TVPaint?

Thanks again for all the wonderful comments on the end credits! Here is something I did for the micro gallery show~ I learned painfully how hard it is to pull off real ink drawings without a undo button! My respect for real ink illustrators has gone up tremendously- This is my first attempt (besides the ones I ruined by smudging the ink with my pinky) with a actual croquil ink pen~
