19th Toe = the "C" Word

I had 18 toes, now there's 19. How did this happen?... the 19th wasn't there two weeks ago.

Mom, Aunt Toad and Brandy & I loaded up & headed to the vet. Poor Brandy, she doesn't like the vet like I do... she stresses... Brandy did great!... a pedi, weigh in & special diet food. I was proud of her!

Glad Brandy was there for support...Today was not good.... my newly, mal shaped, sprouted 19th toe was diagnosed cancerous by my vet. Toe removal surgery is scheduled for Thursday. Guess this means agility is still on hold, again. What the heck?

Viewer discretion is advised...

19h toe is in the middle.

Ok, Enough of the pity party, I'm putting my big girl panties on and will be positive! Hmmm, lets see if the perfected, milk-it-for-all-its-worth technique still works...off to the store to get Pug's and Frank's latest and greatest snackable treat... tooble.
hmm, this smells good, but its not it... wait, one more sniff...

On the way home, stopped past Pier One for "Fresh Fig" votives, Mom's favorite.
Home at last! Now I can finally enjoy my treat. The milk-it technique still works!

Had a nice evening walk with Brandy and Macy, wonder why they were reluctant to pose for the camera? Any one have any ideas?

  1. Hello Suki!
Thanks for letting me go to the vet with you. Helps me not be so stressed. If I got you and you like them I guess it must be okay. Glad was able to go with you. Don't you stress they will take care of you and get you back to that new bionic state. Yes put on big girls panties and everything is going to be fine. You have been through so much you will rise above this.
Yes milk it for all you can. Your human will give in. LOL. Boy that treat looks really yummy. Thanks for sharing I can't wait to try it. My human said I will get mine today after we go exploring. She said I was too out of breathe last night from walk. Boy was that a nice walk. Weather is getting better. But hey I told you, you got to be careful by that sign. Did you see what that says "SNAKES" I don't like them. They make my human nerveous. What is that??? That behind you, oh wait not a white snake just some pipes. I was afraid something was coming for you. LOL That is why I barked and said come on lets go!
I got to go to pet smart yesterday too. Isn't that a fun store. I haven't been to a place with candels. I think I will pass I am so big I would probably break something. Some days would be nice to be small like you, but I am a happy girl and proud to be big that way I can watch out for you little buddy.

  2. Heya Suki!

At first, I thought your 19th toe was just a new bionic body part. But I guess if they're taking it off your foot, it doesn't belong there. Stupid C-word mal-shaped 19th toe!

I'm totally going to get everybody to think positive for you like we did for Fred the boxer. When he had the mal-formed ear lump, the vet said the C-word too -- but when they took the lump off, the C-word changed to the B-word.

    Whatever the B-word is.

    Hugs + Toobles,

    Pug.

  3. PS: Dutch says you have the cutest harness ever. He's wondering if they come in his size.

Geez! So much for his new macho self.

  4. Hi Pug & Dutch!
Thank you for sending positive thoughts. Keeping paws crossed diagnoses is the B-word! Wish it was a bionic-part, it's more like toe-jam, fuzzy stuff that gets stuck between the toes.

Dutch - pink harness would look snazzy on you. It fits in with the color scheme of all your collars. But this one isn't water proof. It should come in your size, check out EBay.

    Will keep you posted.

  6. Hi Suki,
Just stopped over from Puglet's site to wish you well and send you "stupid nineteenth toe be gone!" thoughts from north of the border.
Besides, any gal who can pose with such poise next to "Danger! Snakes, Posion Ivy, Possible Flooding, Bog.." is one fierce pug and that bad toe doesn't stand a chance!

  7. Hi Suki,
Just read about your 19th toe on Puglet's site. We will be sending positive vibes your way to get rid of that stupid thing. You will be back to agility quicker then you can say "PUG'S ROCK".

  8. Suki, I'm going to send so many postive thoughts your way, you're going to like turn some down. You'll have a hard way navigating through them, you're gonna be like ahhh...if I hear another song about sunshine and happiness I'm gonna puke...you'll be so positive. Ok, maybe not, but you get the picture. If I could send a hug online, I would (ps. I give good hug)
    Keep us updated.

  12. Hi Ellie, Emmitt & Eli,

Thanks for the positive vibes. I will give post an update on Thursday evening, when I get home from surgery.

How cool, I have three agility pug friends. Maybe you can give me pointers. I was going to begin agility, then my good knee went bad. So classes had to be postponed due to surgery. Now its postponed again. Geeze.

Emmitt, tell your Mom, I don't think we have met, since I haven't started yet. My Mom wants to know do you three go the Pug Rescue of Austin meet ups? Maybe we have seen each other there.

Everyone has been FANTASTIC with such nice thoughts.

    Suki

You are a silly goose! The positive thoughts are working! You are so sugar-erie to post Think Positive on Daily Puglet! Everyone has been so kind.

  14. Hi Suki,
We live in San Antonio so we haven't met at the Austin pug meet ups. We have another Austin pug friend that does agility, her name is Kiwi. Her mom told us they attend pug rescue meet ups.
Suki, I had surgery on my left knee right before my 2nd birthday and just 3 months before my first agility competition. At a NADAC trial I won a prize for being a *bionic dog* in the competition.
Ellie, Emmitt and Eli's big sister.

  15. Hi Emmitt, Ellie and Eli
A prize for *bionic dog*, how cool and to be at Nationals! And so soon after surgery. Do you have a blog? You should post pictures of your bionic self.

Don't recall a Kiwi at pug meet up, will have ask next time I'm there... after I'm all healed up.
